We continue the wait for Titans Return.
I've decided to go all-in on the Deluxes in the line.
Now that we're in May, I'm way too hyped for Titan Returns stuff to be in shelves, much more than Combiner Wars. They better come out soon. At least give me one thing now to hold me over.

There's been a couple threads about it, they're doing other characters too. They're all based on the japanese versions though, so "Cy-Kill" has a baby face and stubby arms instead of what we're used to.
This guy here looks fucking sick in both modes though. His transformations does look like wizardry.
I think the copter mold gets stress marks on the hfg port is because the ratchets are off center compared to like every other mold. Perhaps it puts stress on the already thin foot port in leg mode due to it being angled differently?

Either way, the ratchet could be a contribution factor but I think the port is simply too small. All the non-hand ports on my Blades were way too small for the guns.

I think the Mindwipe and Wolfwire files just happened to also be available to the leaker. It doesn't mean that either of them are gonna be released along with 2017 Wave One.

Sadly, it feels like all the reviewers that get things on a regular basis and soon after (or before) release are the ones that make 20 minute minimum videos. And sometimes, that's okay. If it's a toy from a new third party company, I can understand taking some time to set a baseline for their quality. But if it's a redeco of an existing Hasbro mold, not so much. The one thing I do enjoy about their videos though, is seeing the transformation in full, in real time. Sure, it would be nice to edit it down, but sometimes it's nice to be able to see tricky parts of the transformation in detail and to see what parts are hard to pull off due to clearnances and the like. You don't really get that information in a Thew video outside of one line about "that was a lot of work" at most.
While his videos are not particularly short, I've started watching some of wotafa's videos. He shoots them well, goes over the features and details well (you can always fast-forward if he's talking too long) and even though I don't really understand Japanese, I love hearing his enthusiasm. The dude gets so genuinely excited that its refreshing and fun to listen to.

Kinda bland looking, would of went night ops...but I never seen one before so I went a grabbed the legion class, then I saw one in a local shop and got mad beyond belief as I dislike buying the same exact guy in the same class WITH the same deco.
And I could never find the takara version of that which would cost an arm and a leg so this version will make do, also consolation prize for not realizing how cool the takara retool with the clear plastic was.

It helps me by stuff. I sometimes see a mold I want but as a character I already have. Grabbing a repaint helps me get color variety and character variety onto shelves. It's why I got into customizing, take molds I like and repaint/mod them into characters I don't currently have.

It's part of the reason I really dislike when they release "stealth" or "arctic" versions of characters that are still 100% the same guy. It was really sad that with all the Bumblebees we got in the movie lines, we only got 1 Cliffjumper (and Stinger), but 50 variants of Bumblebee that were still some combo of yellow and black.

The voyager class figures in Titans Return are all triple changers, and a text-only leak way earlier said it was voyager class, so we assume so.

The Generations one, which actually would've been a solid B, B+ figure if not for the mold issue that made his arms not slot in correctly. I own the figure, it's really fucking nice but you HAVE to hold his shoulders in whenever you move it or they're gonna come loose. It's like CW Defensor when you try to move his limbbots.
That said I will totally welcome a new Blitzwing figure that hopefully will be much better without issues. Hopefully.

Aus-anon here, just came in from premium collectables (sorry I keep saying that but they're cheaper than US based sites which works wonders for me), just if anyone is curious it seems they've gotten the asia region toys, specifically hong kong judging via the little sticker that was slapped on the back saying "choking hazard" with a hong kong address and number.
Alot of mexican on the bottom of the box naturally printed as well, got a feeling like last time Australia won't even see these.

Really it's more like the kinds of updates we used to get more often in Universe and Generations: an existing toy is redecoed (sometimes with a new head) into a different character just for the sake of getting some reuse out of a mold, with the bonus of checking an obscure character off the update list.
I still feel that we're kinda spoiled nowadays, with so many characters getting their own figure, or their own specific tooling of a particular mold.

It's the only thing that makes sense. Bumblebee, Optimus, Drift, and Ratchet don't have any prior memories of this character, and he acts nothing like FoC Grimlock (who is closely modeled after G1 Grimlock).
Just like Scowl, Grimlock is likely post-war. So are Strongarm and Sideswipe. Drift was likely an outsider during the war, Windblade I can't confirm but I'm guessing colony born like the IDW version, and Fixit and the rest of the minions don't matter- even if they were around during the war they had no part in it.

That's not my point. My point is, they need to decide if this thing is a donut steel (in which case it ought to set out with its own identity) or a Downshift update (in which case it ought to duplicate the original as best as possible). Making it original-colors Downshift would have worked for the latter, and making it Cybertron Downshift would have worked for the former. Making it KB Downshift means it appeals to nobody - it doesn't look like the Downshift toy you had when it was a kid and it's blatantly not the same character, but it also lacks an identity of its own on a character that was already Wheeljack with the serial numbers filed off.
Making the original Downshift toy into Slicer worked because the SG influences were very subtle - a spark crystal and a tiny little symbol - and everything else clearly drew from G1 Slicer.
