You guys don't actually spend $250+ on action figures, do you?
I mean shit, I'm not trying to troll. I'm legit curious. (If you do spent that much) Why?
As an idiot who makes just enough to afford his home, its really weird when I see all these high priced toys. Hell, with that kind of money I could buy new furniture or set it aside for a trip. But they're still making them so I guess there must be a market for it..

You don't actually have a hobby, do you?
Some people here don't buy action figures, they buy brands.
>>5637744
Only a minority of /toy/ soldiers bother with 1/6 dolls.

More frequently than I'd like to admit...
>>5637744
I would easily spend $300 on a Papyrus figure. IF THERE WAS ONE!
I just spent £195 on 3 figmas

Duke Togo, Normal Sonico Bikini and Billy Herrington

I actually wish i could...
There is sich a fucking amazing figure of Wolverine. Im not a fan of ANY figures of wolverine (may be except one old Marvel Legends one) with Jackman but this...
This is an epitome of perfection to me. I would be so happy to own this.
yet...
i can't. I mean i COULD with the next amount of money im getting from my job but
1) my grandmother will be upset and i dont want her to be like that because she is my only parent
2) it's sad to own such an expensive stuff in my place
So i stick to cheaper figures. I can buy this but i don't want. This is way too much for my current situation.
PS:
And the fact that it will be more expensive in future don't make this situation happier
>>5637955
Wew lad, good choices but that's a lot of money for three Figma.
>>5637977
10k for Dukey boi
9k each for Sonico & Billy (Halloween)
Duke usually goes for £100-£130 on Ebay,
Normal Bikini Sonico fluctuates between £80-£120 and Billy (Halloween) is about £80 too.
so, I like to think I got somewhat lucky.
Honestly the deeper I am into collecting the more $100+ stuff seems appealing over cheaper stuff. When I first started moving on from American stuff to basic imports like figma and figuarts, the difference was staggering, but even now those seem lesser in comparison to higher end Japanese figures or Hot toys. I'd rather spend my money on a few major purchases than cheaper ones.

Mk II unleashed is a sexy beast
Also. ANTS

Well it's like one days salary or so. So I can easily buy 1 per month or so. I already have an apartment, and I don't believe in saving too much money (hell If I ain't get to use that money, why even bother earn it.)
>>5637744
No I routinely spend $500 plus. Get on my level.
>>5637952
It's the stand that came with the Silver Centurion figure (all the non-Diecast Iron Man 3 suits come with one, it's a complete piece of shit). I didn't have a regular dynamic stand at that point.
The best stands have to be the ones that come with the Iron Man 2 figures, they should have stuck with those.

Suuuure you've got one m80
$250? UGH NO! Hell no. What're you crazy?
$350 minimum. Anything less is pleb tier.
>>5637744
Usually only around $200. Also fuck Hot Toys.
>>5637749
>As an idiot who makes just enough to afford his home
Get a better job. Then you'll understand.
>>5637744
On one figure? No.
On multiple figures? Plenty of times.
>>5638096
Last doll I bought came out to just over a thousand. But I only buy two a year and I don't spend my cash on much else.
If you're not a retard, it's not hard to buy expensive figures every now and again. I have a collection valued at $1500 (not a lot compared to some of this board, I think) and I turn 20 in a month. I've been working since I was 16 and budget my money towards figures. I don't play video games and figures are my only hobby outside of reading, which is dirt cheap.
>>5637961
Just sell some of your cheap shit and start saving. One nice figure is better than 10 shit ones.
>>5638139
Your right I don't have an elysian but I've got 5 soom limited from before they went to total shit and lost all creativity. And no I won't post them here, the bjd hobby is too small and I'd rather not have anyone from 4chan trace me back to my other accounts.
>>5639274
That's true, current day soom is sad to look at.
>>5639219
>Just sell some of your cheap shit and start saving.
Cheaper figure don't mean shittier you dumbass faggot.
Holy shit there are actually cucks on /toy/ who think everything cheaper than 300$ is shit.
>>5637744
$250 is a lot of money
On a single toy? Naw.
I've picked up a couple of third party combiner teams for more than that though, but those aren't single figures.
If I ever did go that high, it would probably be for something like a high end Macross figure because some of those are sexy as fuck.
>>5640032
>third party combiner teams
Why would you pay even $5 for low-quality bootleg shit
The most I've ever spent on a single figure was $250 and that was for the Hot Toys DX Joker 2.0. I should've grabbed two since he goes for more than double now and I could've sold one to pay off both of them.
Monthly I spend around the $400-500 range.
>>5638073
I'm tempted to buy this. Don't have any Hot Toys but if it looks good next to Legends I may get it. The BAF looks small.
>>5640022
will he ever get that spider off himself?
>>5640032
>If I ever did go that high, it would probably be for something like a high end Macross figure because some of those are sexy as fuck.
If you do, it'll quickly make the 3P figures you bought look overpriced. Not to be like
>>5640043
, but I've found 3P Transformers to be severely overpriced given the quality and content of what you get. Other figures may not have the gimmicks that 3Ps do, like combiners and the like, but the quality of official Japanese stuff around the same price is so much better. $80-100 for a deluxe/Voyager figure that's barely any better than a retail figure from 2010, vs. a high end , 1/60 scale collector's figure.
>>5640751
>figures from very small companies are more expensive than figures from big companies
Who knew, etc.
And $80-100 tends to get you a voyager or ultra class nowadays.
I regret nothing.
>>5640644
Im totally getting the civil war ant-man to be giant man. It comes out this fall. It's a bit taller than the BAF too.
