How does /toy/ feel about getting doubles of certain figures?
It's good.
It's bad.
It's okay.

I love army builders.
So for MSIA I have a shit load of Zakus and about a dozen GMs including 2 GM cannon IIs and 2 GM II Customs, plus a few of each of the other Zeon grunt suits.
1/6th sort of counts I guess but less so because I can just get nude bodies and put gear on them. Right now I have a SWAT team, a 90's era US infantry squad (two 4 man fire teams, a squad leader and a squad RTO), and a few other miscellaneous groups of figures that range from South African mercenaries to Adventure Team kitbashes.

McQuarrie's early work was a little too 'new wave' for my tastes...

I bought three Mass Production Evas just Unit.02 had something to fight.

But when starwars came out in 77, thats when he really took off, commercially and artistically.

Depends on the figure. I got two Stormtroopers and two battle droids because I find that things like that work better in pairs. In general though I don't like owning multiple figures of the same character, so I only do it with "generic" characters like army builders.
Am also thinking of getting a pair of identical Shinkis to be twins because the pics I've seen look super cute.

They're handled really stupidly though. Usually one per case and then your local stores get maybe one case. It's really tough to get more than 2 or 3, tops, of an "army" builder.
Hasbro should sell solid cases on the website. I know people that would've bought a dozen stormtroopers or cobra troops if they were available. They are offering the 6" stormtrooper through distributors but collectors are way too poor for that scale.

I only accept it if it's for a character that has canon multiples, like the Zaku and MP Evangelion
>>5567558
It only works if it's for grunts like Stormtroopers or Naruto clones.
I don't like getting the same character in different scales. Probably my biggest /toy/ pet peeve.

Getting doubles in a thread about getting doubles with a photo of your doubles.
Dubception.

I almost got a second Shadow Moon because he was cheap. Since I'm probably going to get the Kamen Rider Decade rerelease I will have 2 of them: of course one will be of much better quality.

I have two BS Kylo Rens for some godawful reason..
I regret not getting plural Mars Attacks troopers before they shot up to like $60+ on the aftermarket. The fuck am I supposed to do with just one?

Got two New Order Stormtroopers for scouting my Snowtrooper officer, want at least one flametrooper and one regular snowtrooper now, also have four Neca xenomorphs, buth each is a different model so i don't think it counts.
I don't usually get doubles. I'd rather just keep one if I do get doubles.

If its a grunt then yes, the more the merrier. If its a unique character than I feel weird having multiple of the same figure. I will buy the same character in multiple toylines or scales though.

Bad 99% of the time, good 1% of the time. I only get doubles if it's something I really really like then my autism forces me to buy a replacement one "just in case".

Definitely.
>Hasbro should sell solid cases on the website.
The reason they won't do this is because they use the stronger figures (usually army builders) to carry weaker figures.
I think doubles are alright.
Doubles are ok with me. I will take a second if the price is right and use them for trade.
