If there's a figure that I really like in a shipment, I IMMEDIATELY take it and put it on hold until my next paycheck. And we usually only get one or two figures.

My own confession: I don't buy Western figures because I can't stand the inferior articulation and quality.
I think ab crunches/diaphragm joints look really bad on most toys, even though they give good range of motion I'll often see a figure with one (like Revo Bruce Lee) and immediately be turned off
I like statues just as much as actual toys
The only Transformers I like are the Beast Machines/Wars ones.
I only have one Japanese import figure in my entire collection.
I buy figures I think look cool without knowing anything about the source material.
I collect mostly transformers but hate other transformers fans.

This is totally reasonable.
While I don't go so far as to name them, my figures all have individual personalities if they're not based on a character. If they are, they get that character's personality. Some of my toys don't get along because of this.

Oh and I usually try to remove tape from packaging without leaving any trace asap rather than cutting it so I can retape it and sell as mint is sealed box if I ever decide to part with it.
I buy bootlegs and actually like them, not because I can't afford the originals, but because I've developed some kind of fetish in knowing how much the Chinese counterfeit industry has improved, sometimes I buy the original and compare them. In the later ones even the intolerable smell of paint has improved.

make an excel sheet and sum up how much you have spent, let that sink in, that helped ME cut down on my spending.

If a current anime is airing and I have a figma/figuarts of a character from the show, I watch it along with my figures imagining that they are watching it too.
I never remove the protective transparent plastic covering the figure for fear of paint transfers(I do remove it if it's possible to put it back on after posing the figure w/o tearing up the protective plastic).
