i have started a little collection of these cool 50 cent figures, pic related

It's not like they don't exist anymore. Hell, I know a local hobby shop that sells them near where I live. Look around online and in hobby stores if you have any.

>>5551631
why can't companies do shit like this or Warplanets anymore?
>>5551635
I mean, I'm not sure how excited I'd be about it as an adult, but it was THE COOLEST SHIT when I was young.
also, these dudes - the series of large figures that opened up. Not the best playsets inside, but they were cool "titans" to have around and tower over the smaller figures.
>>5551642
oh my lord I'd forgotten all about these wonders
>>5550442
I had this when I was a kid. As a boy. Is that weird?
>>5551648
Yeah it's tough to say how I'll really react when it's in hand. I only had two or three sets when I was little that I always played with and so far have gotten one again to find it's just as awesome as when I was a kid. (pic related)
Other sets like Dragon Island I remember seeing commercials for, but never actually got so this is sort of a trial run. If I can enjoy it without having nostalgia for it I know it's worth getting more sets. If I don't then I know to only get the sets I DID have and loved and leave it at that.
>>5551657
I don't think so. Polly Pockets were just as awesome as Mighty Max.
Who remembers something like Mighty Max, except it was unfolding vehicles? They always came with a one-page pulp-adventure comic as well. I remember a six-wheeled jeep thing that unfolded to have this cool volcano in the middle, and you could drive the miniature version of the car all up around and inside it.
Looking back these were just knock-off GI Joes, but I didn't like Joe as a kid because he was a boring army-man, and these were AWESOME SPACE-MANS
I still see kids playing with these things but I remember getting those thumb characters with them, my favorite one was the Russian one

this. i didn't care anything about the cartoon - the suits were just cool looking.
>>5551676

>>5551657
Nah. I also wanted Pound Puppies as a kid. I just ducking loved mini toys. Probably because you could just grab a handful in your pocket and play with them anywhere. Even in outer space.
I also really like Chibi when it's not overdone. Like the MUSCLE figs. They still look menacing but in cute scale.
>>5551785
Playsets and minifigures were my fucking thing as a kid. I hate that they're not really around anymore.
I had ones for Batman, Star Wars, Ninja Turtles, all kinds of shit. Pic related were probably my favorite though. They were a lot more simplistic but the figures were nice and chunky.
I remember finally getting the Squirtle one after asking for weeks, only to drop the figure in the car on the ride home. Took a month before it finally showed up again.
>>5551828
Shit. Now I kind of want to track down the Turtles ones... At least figure out which I had as a kid. And set on fire.
>>5548725
Ive got a lot of Street Sharks from when I was a kid. God I love those things
>>5547330
My local grocery store started selling this again. Thinking of buying a bunch for nostalgia sake.
>>5548267
I never had these, but I'm curious, are they hard plastic or slightly soft? Every picture I see of them makes me imagine they feel like rubber erasers.
>>5551785
Holy fuck, I forgot they made these mini Pound Puppies sets. I'm pretty sure I had one and then proceeded to lose all the figures and bits.
>>5550451
don't you people have containment threads on /co/ ?
>>5551651
hold on...why is there a Green one?
Fuck, we really could use a Warplanets-esque line these days
"Battle-Planetoids"?
"Confrontation-Castles"?
"War in my pocket"?
To go along with the theme of tiny plastic crap, did anyone else go through a Crazy Bones phase?
>>5552128
IIRC they were a weird rubber material so they could move a little bit. Or I might've just had some bootlegs because I was poor, I dunno.
>>5552177
absolutely, i had like 3-4 times the amount in your image. my friends & i went nuts over those things. they're still aesthetically pleasing to me now but i would never hop on ebay to relive that particular fad. thinking about it now, that style is probably what turned me on to resin toys, as they're cast in similar colorways.
>>5552177
Yeah I had a small bag with these. Really liked them at the time.

>>5551691
Og man, I loved those. The monkey guy on the right was my favourite.
Also pic related. It was my absolute favourite toy as a kid, and I don't even know why because it looks pretty spastic now that I look at it.
>>5554776
That cobra trooper from the same line was awesome. Transformers style giant weapons? Didn't that badass Aquaman killer come with a huge robo shark gun?
>>5548725

>>5553872
That exploding statue of liberty face is some post prett hardcore Mad Max like stuff.
>>5555963
Go for it. After getting two sets so far (one I had as a kid) I'm blown away by how neat these playsets still are. I even want to paint a few of the almost hidden details so they stand out better.
>>5547666
No lie, I have a billion of the aliens. I was big on crytids when I was a kid and still am, but now I'm even bigger about robots. Where'd the 50 cent robots come from? I'd love them. I miss vending machines so much. It made quarters worth more then actual cash to me when I was younger.
>>5556030
I've since gotten another alien from the same series, though it's lavender & can't stand up on its own, ha. The robots came from a 50 cent machine in a Ralph's Italian Ice somewhere in Long Island, New York. Might've been Coram. Got them Nov. 2014. Dunno the branding though, sorry. In hindsight, I wish I had gotten more, they're really rad.
>>5556051
Damn. I just opened up the little container I have the aliens in and found the best crazy bone ever, little alien bird thing that always landed standing straight up, which got you the most points in the game itself.
All the aliens I have are the larger plastic ones with some small ones mixed in, mostly all with sports equipment.

>>5556260

>>5556267
>Biker Mice From Mars
Man, I just nostalgia'd all over the place. I remember these toys and cartoons but I have no recollection of the plots, really. Biker Mice from Mars is an exceptionally absurd premise for a show.
This just dawned on me: I wonder if all the anthropomorphic cartoons of the 90's is related to the rise of furry degeneracy of the 00's.
>>5556325
Well, I know some people whose first crush was Callie Briggs from Swat Kats...
It might actually be possible that cartoons of the 80's and 90's are fully responsible for the epidemic we have now...
>>5556330
She barely looks furry, though. The male characters do.
>>5556325
There were tons of anthro cartoons in the 70s and 80s too.
>>5556325
>This just dawned on me: I wonder if all the anthropomorphic cartoons of the 90's is related to the rise of furry degeneracy of the 00's.
Nah, it were movies like Balto or Lion king with "cute" looking wolves and cats.
Notice how all furssies have wolf fursits similar to picrelated. Cartoons like this started it.
All those "MUTANT" related ones (Street Sharks/TMNT/Cowboys/Extreme Dinosaurs/Biker Mice) were too ugly and "mean spirited" to a pussy furfag scene.
I know that - i was almost sure im a furry because i "grew up with antro characters because they were badass and cool" and tried to go behave with them back in early 00s and quickly understood that furry scene is not what i expected.
Furry scene is not about mice riding bikes or sharks biting through cement.
It's about few degenerate spineless neets making pantomime at cons.

I'm hoping this thread can help with the name of a toy.
They were soldiers, green berets, frogmen, and other modern military factions about the size of a MUSCLE, Z-Bot, or Battle Beasts.
They were a little chubbier than GUTS, but similar. My neighbor had a whole box of them, but never wanted to play with them.
This fucking thing. I miss the smoke it can blow out if you put oil in it.

>>5563231
Sold them off over the years. All my carded and off carded stuff. I kept a few really nice ones and some other merch but most of it is gone. It just was taking up space and demand was dwindling at the time.
>>5563268
You know it's not even nostalgia talking these were just cool as fuck toys. There's nothing like Mighty Max these days, not a damn thing. Where are all the cool toys that aren't grandfathered in (TMNT, Transformers, etc)? If a new Z-Bots or Mighty Max type line started I would buy the hell out of those things, I just want something fun.
>>5564100
Mighty max was a unique toyline. In my years collecting it I learned a lot about it. Leave it to the Brits to create something macabre and yet badass and then Americans did a great job marketing it and making a classic show to tie it into. It was one of those lines that had hidden depths like the alternate color sets or the many different versions of certain sets. I collected a lot of stuff over the years but mighty max always found a way to surprise me with something I had never seen before. If you look at some of the unreleased stuff you can tell it still had a lot of life left in it too.
>>5564137
MM was a genius line, I've tried to design some sets of my own as an homage quite a few times and they always fall flat. A lot of thought went into every one of those playsets.
>>5547330
I used to work at an am/pm gas station with a taqueria across the street that had these little fuckers in one of the quarter machines. I was a frugal kid.

the night before we move and, i left it on a counter while i took a shower and come back to find out my mom threw it out

This game is amazing. 3D platformer, colorful, beautiful environments, play as 6 different ninjas you unlock as the game progresses, each with different weapons. Collect and use tons of ninjitsu spells. All the enemies are forest animals turned into samurai so when you defeat them they turn back into animals, all of which you can possess and play as (whether or not they are useful in combat. Basically only boars and bears can fight.) Still super fun game. Play it.

Hoping someone here can help me. I remember getting a bunch of spaceship toys as a young kid, so probably around the late 90s. The one that I remember was shaped like a stag beetle, but was coloured - I think - orange and purple. Pretty sure it had cannons, and the top of the shell could be removed to show the interior of the ship, might have even had little 1 - 2 inch figures inside it. I'm pretty certain what I had was a knockoff of another line, seeing how I'd get them from this discount shop. Hopefully somebody has an idea of what it was or what it was based on.
