Oh shit, they're making a Shazam figure? Never bought any Mezco, but I'm excited about this one.

Yeah I don't either. The older, Bradstrret look was never a fav of mine. I was more of a Zeck fan.

>>

Anon, I think he was just surprised at the detail and use of soft good on figures in this scale. He's probably aware that they're 1:12.
>>
>>5459811
Thanks bro. It was rhetorical.

However, the question remains- how much will they cost? 80 bucks, I'm assuming.
>>
>>5459829

Dredd was $70
>>
>>5459829
Probably between 65-75. TDKR Batman was 65 but the new BvS figures are 75 so it'll depend on the figure.
>>
>>5459859
I think it goes up if they have to license actor likenesses. The Star Trek and BvS figures are $5-10 more expensive.
>>
>>5459811
get that cucumber out of your ass, or do you need it in to be nice?
>>
>>5459829
>>5459859
>>5459936
It'll also probably depend on the license itself. They've been consistent at 65-75 but it remains to be seen if they're going to be the same, and yes it'll change if they put likenesses to any of these from the movies/show.
>>
I'm fucking sold. Punisher, Daredevil, Cap.. you're all getting a devoted shelf! :D
>>
>>5460109

I'm not seeing any likenesses used so I doubt they're going that route. Looks like they'll stick to a comic-esque version.

>>5460164
That's literally a quarter the cost of a Hot Toys or Sideshow figure.

Trust me, if Batman and Dredd are anything to go by the quality's more than there.
>>
>>5460170
He meant likenesses on the Marvel ones, considering all of the characters have had a show or movie in the past 5 years.
>>
>>5460164

Fabric man.. it adds a lot of cost to a figure. But if you think that looks good, then it can be worth the cost!
>>
>>5460164
Even for $75 you have to admit the likenesses are pretty well done and if I'm not mistaken they come with more accessories anyways.

Here's the release schedule according to the Fwoosh:

Here’s the rundown for 2016

April – Dredd and Lawmaster

May – Spock

June – Sulu

July – Kirk, Captain America, Dawn of Justice Superman, Batman, Armored Batman

Sept – Flash, Zoom, Frankenstein’s Monster

Oct – Green Arrow, Punisher

Nov – Daredevil, Space Ghost

Dec – Superman, Captain Marvel

>>

<I think it goes up if they have to license actor likenesses. The Star Trek and BvS figures are $5-10 more expensive.
Likeness for actors is usually included with the license, unless it's from some old franchise where the actors didn't sign away their rights with their movie/tv contracts.

The fact that Superman vs Batman is more expensive would just be because it's a movie license.

Its too bad this line has to stick to the stupid cloth gimmick. This could be a much better line if not for all the stupid pajamas. Crisp sculpting looks better than slightly oversized cloth, especially when the designs are based on 2D designs.

Sooo... Solid Punisher?
>>
>>5462370
Well it looks crappy. I like the sculpting, the body mold they're using with its pretty good articulation, and the accessories. The cloth just makes it look like some old Mego crap, and its only going to age worse from there.
>>
I wish NECA put this much effort in their "retro cloth" figures
>>
>>5462380
I can see this happening, the Mezco guys mentioned on Toy Pizza one of their dream figures to make under this line would be an MGS1 Solid Snake...
>>
>>5462389
It's the QC and lack of proper engineering on their part.
They're also not really going for the "high end" vibe Mezco's after.
>>
Kinda reminds me of when the Superman and Flash were first announced, I was telling people not to be so bitter and cynical over the firsg production models because they could take the time to work on them further and seeing their dates pushed back makes me confident in the series and those cynical anons can go suck my dick cause I was right.

Here's hoping they make a badass Spider-man. I'd love to own one.

That Punisher and Daredevil have me sold.
>>
>>5462383
Cloth ages much better than plastic assuming you actually take care of it. Plastic will degrade no matter what you do, but cloth can last if you put in effort.
>>
>>5462391
Thank god Kojima's racist ass is out of konami now so they may just license Mezco now.
>>
>>5462395

>>
>>5462411
Isn't Kojima a massive fucking westaobo though? The idea of American celebrities being able to and wanting to easily buy toys of his characters should make him rock hard.
>>
>>5462404
By aging I mean in terms of appearance. A lot of older hot toys from the mid-2000s already look bad due to oversized clothes. On the bright side latter Mezco releases will probably look a lot better, but these first releases will end up looking like a beta test down the road.

I don't see how you can compare them when their goals, licenses, properties, and business models differ so greatly.
They've found a great niche market that they've managed to overtake and have netted some good licenses for the line, what's there to compare?

I really want to like these, but the jump between plastic and cloth components is just exceptionally jarring.

Not so bad on punisher, green arrow (Who does look phenominal), but on flash, cap, daredevil, and especially the comic superman, it is ridiculously jarring.

Superman's big plastic S is such a stupid idea.

I'd take Mr. Knight or Classic
For me I'd like to see come out of this...
Captain Cold
Maybe Joker
Deathstroke
Lex Luthor
Doctor Doom
Taskmaster
Maybe Red Skull
Bullseye

Personally the new 'armoured' cape suit with the black body would get my vote. But at this quality I would not be fussy.
>>
>>5464330

I'd love to see them make a bunch of second-stringers that normally are last in line to get love. She-Hulk and Ant-man among them.
>>

Imagine the hysteria that'd happen if they made Star wars figures. Rights are probably too held tight by Hasbro here, but it could always happen.

As far as a wishlist goes;

A classic, Silverage/Neal Adams style Batman
Brian Bolland joker
Dr. Doom
John Byrne Brown Costume Wolverine
Watchmen cast
The Rocketeer(since Funko's attempt will eventually break)
The Phantom
Predator(jungle hunter)
Zorro
Grendel(Matt Wagner comic)
The Mask/Big head
Nexus(Steve rude)
Conan the Barbarian
Darkman

I'm wary about how they'd approach female figures. Doll hair would probably be bad at this scale. I'd like a Classic Supergirl,Vampirella, or tank Girl if they were done well.

Crazier options that are a total longshot but might be cool:

Usagi Yojimbo
Stardust the Superwizard
Power Rangers(yeah right,I know. But I've always thought Hot toys style figures would be cool, and maybe with the upcoming movie..)
>>
>>5464526
They said they can't do Doctor Doom because of some licensing thing at Marvel. It's shitty because he's the perfect character for this line.

Agreed. Captain America looks like somebody's dad cosplaying poorly. The suit should've been tighter. They pulled it off with batman so I'm not sure why they went this route for captain america. He looks the worst out of the ones the revealed.

Still can't believe we're getting this.

That anyone in our small fragment of the universe would dare to imply that we could ever have such an awesome yellow Daredevil figure, probably means everything ends prior to November this year.

I'm gonna make a new financial plan where I blow all my savings on hookers and smack by the end of October. It only makes sense.

Except comic superman.

They need to start over from scratch on that one.

Eh... Yellow daredevil is great, but not end-of-world great. Not by itself. Save your money for now.

But if they announce classic-style Ant-Man or Beta Ray Bill for 2017, then all bets are off. Hookers and smack for everyone.

I don't think it's strange at all, when the vast majority wear full spandex suits.

Maybe you only find it strange that such a popular line doesn't have one of the most popular characters announced yet

This line makes me more annoyed at NECA for their retro cloth "MEGO styled" line.
All they would have to do is create one base body with a bunch of articulation to reuse over and over, and use thinner cloth and that line would be so much better. Theyd still profit. Also preferablly I'd like them to be an inch smaller than they are, but that's not that big a deal. But I guess they're going for that retro nostalgic feel to them so I get why they are they way they are...

I'm not saying they would be anywhere near in quality of these mezco figures of they did that, obviously not, but it'd be a big step in that direction.
>>
I've always wanted a high quality avengers team of golden age/first appearance versions. Like with Frankenstein hulk or all gold iron man (i know toy biz did some but they're outdated and not very colorful) I love the bright old comic style.
This line is my only hope, Since current Marvel Legends never does that stuff (and they're not reall high quality anyway) but it doesn't really look like its going go the golden age route since their "classic" cap has a bit of modern stylization to him.

A guy can dream though

Deforest Kelley and Leonard Nimoy fucking made that show. With an assist now and then from George Takei. Everyone else, Shatner included, was a walking joke.

McCoy's figure should include not one, but two or more scowling faces of varying degrees.
>>
>>5497210
>Shatner [...] was a walking joke.
Sure, but without a good-looking guy who could sell that it wasn't just "space-science, the show", but "fun campy space adventure (with a strong serious sci-fi base)", it would've probably been waaaay too dense for most people to survive more than a season.

In a lot of ways, Shatner was both the most, and the least important part of the show.

I'm red/green colorblind and this looks like a pretty spot on match to me. That said, Kirk is definitely my least favorite looking of the three, or they just chose very unflattering photos to use of him for some reason.

I'd love a 1/12 Enterprise bridge to display them though with Mezco, it'd likely be way more than the figma tank, and I'm not willing to pay that much money.

Maybe they'll release a chair and console set with Uhura?

To my eyes he's the worst match of the three, Spock and Sulu both look spot on but something seems off about Kirk. It's not completely unrecognizable but it's not as good as the other two

I'm still getting it anyway

>Maybe they'll release a chair and console set with Uhura?
That'd be nice. They haven't done any female figures in this line yet have they?
>>
>>5502935
>That'd be nice. They haven't done any female figures in this line yet have they?
Not yet, but I read somewhere that they're doing the bridge crew. Kirk, Spock, and Sulu would be a very odd trio if they stopped there. Though I guess it depends on the sales as much as anything.
>>
>>5502978
Oh, I'm glad they plan to do the bridge crew. I want Bones and Scotty at least

True, seems like the Star Trek figures are going to do fine if Spock is any indication though

If they don't make a Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider for this line I will literally kill someone. It's perfect. Spidey is a cash cow but almost all of his suits will have to be 1 piece skin tight suits with likely certain details painted on, which while it will look great worries me for longevity. Scarlet, in addition to being the most badass looking spidey suit ever, has the benefit of being a suit tailor made for the strengths of this line- multiple clothing layers, gauntlets belt and ankle bracers to break things up, and no tiny details on the fabric to potentially crack over time.
>>
>>5506710
>Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider

Yes. They must make this. They'd be fools not to.
