What Theme should have stayed longer?
>pic related imo
>>
>>5447483
crap movie, but I won't lie the sets were pretty good for just pieces and stuff.
>>
I don't know about them needing to stay longer, but this and the Lone Ranger sets were criminally underrated
>>

yeah I dont have enough of these fucking sandniggers already, now I need a fucking shitskin lego set. Op please fucking die.

Damn obvious Ice Planet 2000.

2nd this! Hell, all of classic space themes too: M-Tron, Blacktron, Futuron, Space Police...
>>
>>5447903
The concept was a little out there to begin with, animal people aren't as appealing to children as ninjas or secret agents, and the sets went way-the-fuck downhill after that first Fire and Ice wave. Loved the first year and a half though.
>>
Power Miners
Ice Planet
and Hero Factory, especially. While they weren't same-facing everyone, it wasn't overwhelmed by this huge lore about gold mask-collecting and such.

Atlantis.

Maybe Exo-force.

Any lego sports theme. Pic related.

I didn't actually collect any of these, but they were so cool when I was younger.
>>
>>5447903
>>5448201
I wish they had worked it out with Blizzard and made the line Warcraft based like originally intended.

Then we could have got the quality sets we got, or similar to, but the IP would have carried it for a few years longer.

How much?

I bought that set. I regret destroying it for all the valuable gold. ;(
>>
>>5447793
They need to bring back this theme. It's been too long.
>>
LotR and Hobbit :c
>>
LOTR
When Hobbit bounced it off we at least got the great Bag End, and the Wargs, amongst a bunch of shite sets, but at the expense of no Prancing Pony, Bridge of Khazad-dum, Pelennor Field Mumakil/Witchking with Fellbeast, Minas Tirith, Osgiliath, Cirith Ungol Tower, etc.

Does that really count as the biggest set ever if it's just a repackage of already available sets? Or does it have any exclusive goodies?

I like that there are stands where you can put your other minifigs to create an audience. Darth Vader and Gandalf do love their basket ball.

>>

Yeah,it was a Lego club contest prize
>>

Hell yes. I have that set, and I love it. It's amazing.
>>
>>5448967
This holy shit. I had the big spider thing but I took it apart, need to order a bunch of sets from bricklink. These were amazing sets.

Though my favorite sets ever were Life On Mars. I only ever had the excavation searcher and it's long since been taken apart but I need more of them, they're cheap on BrickLink nowdays anyhow.

I just loved it, my goal is to buy every single set they had, also the alien minifigs (of which I have three) are fucking top notch. Always wished the minifigs only were two wide and would grab properly onto a perfectly horizontal bar. I made all kinds of vehicles that would only fit those alien guys because they were awesome.

I still have Vega, Pollux, and Canopus, the three that came with the excavation searcher though I've mixed and matched the bodies and heads, and one of the teal arms broke so I replaced it with a black one and now he looks like a cyborg.

FUCK I want to buy all the sets now.
>>
>>5448498
OH AND FUCKING POWER MINERS. That was another one I wish stayed around. Fuuuck. Rock Raiders was cool and original but the vehicles in Power Miners were just so much better imo. I loved their almost-realistic style to the vehicles with the forward sloping cabs on most of them and the big lights and cutting wheels...Perfect.. I never had any of these but I think I'm bout to go on a LEGO buying spree. Fuck.

I recommend the thunder driller, also the mine mech.

But for something maybe readily available, you can go for the sleeker, less bulky ninjago earth driller and the fire mech.
>>
>>5449947
>Lord of the Rings/ The Hobbit
They did enough Hobbit but not nearly enough with Lotr. Certain character only ever appeared in one set and others, like the Witch King, never appeared at all.
>>
>>5450085
This is the #1 set I want from Power Miners. Thought it was cool as shit when it came out, and still do today. It also reminds me of the first time you fight Dr. Robotnik in Sonic 2 with that drill machine he has.
>>
>>5447483
Great thread. I only saw half of PoP but I love the Lego sets like no other line.. such great parts/figures. I missed out on all of the PotC, but I don't feel that bad about it.

Debating to buy the silver mine lone ranger set and/or the camp set. Dark tan and dark brown are the best Lego colors I think. Shall I?

I think secret agents are the least favourite ones.
But to be honest your comparisment lacks things. You compare apple with pears.
You mean futuristic medievil theme is not so interesting than.
Or you meant animal people are not so interesting than humans.
But disney, turtles, kungfu panda, oktonauts and gumball might disagree with you.

I remember that shit. Had that soccer field and I played with it all the time.

My mom smashed it for reasons I cannot remember, and I never put it back together. It still hurts remembering it.
>>
>>5449644
Life on Mars was the GOAT. I remember getting the blue mech as a random gift from one of my uncles, and then from there I got a few like red mech and some of the small sets. Always wanted the excavation bot and the main base of course, I might have to do that some day.

It looks good articulation wise but what I liked about the Exo Force mechs is that they looked like actual robots. This just looks kind of goofy.

The line is basically Tron + Castle.

Tech Knights fight fire/volcano demons, using digitally powered-up/video game enhanced weapons.

Of course it's goofy.

Pirates of the Carribean had so good ship designs.

LEGO mechs don't have knee movement for a reason... it would make they lean back and fall accidentally. Unless it's all about ball joint, of course.

Hero Factory was ballin'. I got the Jaw beast with the white robot minifig.

Aquanauts and Aquasharks were the only Aquazone teams I cared about and they looked the best. They should've just made new sets for those instead of trying to see how much more garish and neon they could make the next faction.

But I think it was indeed a theme to sell some leftovers.
And I heard some people never liked this theme.
Some complained about the faces of timmy used over 8 years in different themes.

The funny part about this meme is that Time Cruisers was awesome. Do you faggots not actually play with your Lego in an imaginative fashion? Suddenly I had this massive, flying time-ship that could chill with my Roboforce, pirates and castle stuff all at the same time. Time Cruisers is basically a bunch of random pieces coming together to make wacky machines. Why is it okay when the Lego Movie does it?
>>
>>5493039
Because there's a difference between using your own imagination and beong given a bunch of disjointed nonsense and told to "make it work"
Imagine if the Lego Movie kits came with a bunch of random unrelated crap and told you to "make your own movie". It's missing the point.
Creativity, like comedy, tends to come at its strongest when grounded in some real rules.

> not wanting to accurately represent the Untermenschen in your race war dioramas with real life skin colors

I was honestly pissed off that there was only one negro in the new Star Wars battlepacks, with all those different races in the movie and the Lego Jurassic Park line. I expected none of the rebels to be white and the First Order troops to come with some more black heads. Such a missed opportunity. I don´t want to buy yet another battlepack with that stupid clenched teeth clone trooper head.
>>
>>5448761
When I wanted a LOTR line in 2008 it really was just for a War Elephant set and some armored giant trolls...

I am so fucking mad about this.
>>
>>5476525
I have the robot arm professor guy, a light grey driver with sunglasses and black arms/legs and a red/white driver with beard and two helmets. Love the grey/black guy the most. Any more than those three is useless, they all look so similar by being generic race car drivers.
