I buy based on design. I've gotten a little flack on this from friends. "Why did you but that and you haven't even seen the movie / read the series / etc." Lots of times the well designed toy is what has introduced me to its source. I also like toys that are just original designer creations. There are also series and franchises I like that don't have a well designed toy or sometimes no toys. Design is important for the way I enjoy the toys. Collect and love!

Usually what they're from.

If I like something's design and it has source material for me to get familiar with I get into the material before I try to get it. It's pretty fun.
