Old thread: >>5322075
Out now/in stock at many places:
>Heroes of the Storm series 2
>1/4th scale Big Chap
>Alien Isolation wave
>AvP Predators
>Home Alone
>Jason part 6
>NES Jason II
And so on and so forth.
So yeah, my AvP Predators shipped today, I should have my Isolation figures Tuesday. It's going to be a NECA Christmas for me!
>>5345557
My AvP preds just shipped out too.
Really looking forward to this wave.
>>5345557
Anyone know where I can find an outdoor grilling set that would be in line with the Godzilla scales? I want to have my monsters grilling out in the ruins of a city. Everywhere I look is for little tykes or something totally not related.
Actually, any brands of normal everyday objects that would be in line with 6-7inch figures?
>>5345570
Hmm, do you have a Hobby Lobby or Michael's nearby? I feel like they'd be a good place to find smaller scale items.
I won a Gort/Classic Predator on eBay today, that's all I've got for Christmas from NECA :^(

http://www.ebay.com/itm/181316914368
>>5345588
That's still pretty cool though!
>>5345583
Actually just quit working at Michaels. Every thing we had was cheap wire and wood with nothing matching any one scale.
>>5345589
PERFECT. Thanks bud! I had no clue about what scale something like that would be. But thanks to that link I found this page (http://www.actionfigurefury.com/action-figure-scales/). I've been collecting for awhile now, and only ever used inches. I feel like a dumbass.
Tfw it'll be 2-3 weeks for avp press to reach malaysia :(
>>5345596
Yeah, he'll have to do until I can find a reasonably priced Guardian.
>AyyLmao:Isolation xeno was in stock on the TRU website two days ago
>bought a couple to save myself some time & money shopping elsewhere
>checked back constantly between then, eager to get a tracking number. the xenos were still in stock
>just got an email today that my order was cancelled because there weren't enough
>>5345615
You'll have to just camp the stores, or something.
TRU tends to get their NECA stuff in Wednesday and Saturday mornings, I find.
>>5345615
They've done that to me before too. If I don't get an email confirmation an hour or so after my order, I know something's gone wrong. They won't let you cancel the order after they fuck it up, either. So you still get half the order.
>>5345612
I managed to get Guardian for £35 last month and I know there was another sold for £30 shortly before I got mine so "reasonably priced" Guardians do happen. I'm sure you'll grab one eventually.
That reminds me, I only need Scout to complete the Lost Tribe. Shame really, that it has to end with the most boring one.
>>5345615
Oh man, I ordered mine on that day as well with the HotS wave 2, it's still marked as "Item(s) located in stock " for all of them, hope I don't get canceled on too.
>>5345615
It's because it ships from whatever store is near you. If the employee's are lazy asses and don't fulfill the order within the 45 minutes that they're supposed to, then there's a chance it could've gotten bought up in the store by that time.
>>5345588
Maybe next year, Anon. Maybe next year.
went into newcastle, geordie neca pals, nothing new at all. Forbidden Planet finally has the T800 and Leatherface though!
>>5346677
It sucks man, we don't even get Alien Isolation figures in time for Christmas. We'll be lucky to have the AvP Predators by February at this rate.
>>5346684
Wait, I think Recent Relics had the new 1/4 Alien. At least I think it's new. It's a closed mouth one with a whitish dome.
>>5345557
How do the NECA Zillas stack up to MonsterArts, overall?
I've had a few MA but I dunno. Don't feel you get value for the price, and these NECA ones look about on par articulation wise
>>5346988
Definitely not as good as figures themselves, which is unsurprising given the different price ranges. And in the case of 2014 Goji, the NECA is more movie accurate while the SHMA is more stylized.
SHMA are good if you can get them on sale or secondhand. I got most of mine for around the 5000y mark and they're nice at that price-point, especially dudes like Gigan and Gamera (not Zillas, I know).
>>5346988
I would say the articulation is weaker, but like... they have it where they need it and they dont look out of place near monsterarts. Especially the 54' goji.
>>5346988
Not quite as good as the SHMA in a few ways, but still really nice quality, especially for 20-25 bucks. They've got some good wait to them, really nice articulation, and great sculpts. The only NECA Goji I don't care much for is 2014 because his details seem a bit soft and muddled up in the sculpt. But I love the other three I've got. The only things I think they do worse than SHMA is that they're paint isn't quite as complex, the fine details aren't quite as crisp, and they have an overall slightly glossier finish.
>>5347015
>*They've got some good weight to them
Fuck, phone fucked me over a few times in that post
Kratos when my dudes?
>>5345557
Where can I buy neca figures?
>>5347015
The plastic quality is better, the details, save G14 on Bandai's end, are more accurate, better articulation, and maybe some subjective things, too.
>>5346988
I don't own any SHMA myself, but the NECA's seem to be good stand-in's. My favorite NECA Zilla's are 85, 54 and the HUGE 24 inch 2014 Zilla.
>>5347042
Toys 'R Us. Some specialty shops like small mall toy shops, or comic shops usually carry them.
Lots of places online. Amazon, TRU's website, eBay. NECA even has a specific eBay page where a lot of their figures go up days, even a week or so earlier than the official ship date.
>>5347042
Toys R Us, FYE, Action Figure Planet... Assuming you didn't just mean online sites, that is. Some comic book stores carry them secondhand, too, although I haven't visited any 'chain' LCS's that carries any except for maybe Newbury Comics.
>>5347028
They said next month.
>>5346988
They're great. Worth picking up, believe me. I mix them with my Monsterarts too, it's a big happy family in my collection.
Snagged pic related for £10 on ebay today. She looks good for an older figure even though she's basically statueshit.
Updated NECA Lara when?
>>5347446
That's a big head
>>5347512
for you
>>5347512
Not really NECA related, but how well do the DC collectibles line compare height wise with the NECA Predators?
>>5347552
I'm a little curious myself, now that you mention it. What scale are those in, exactly?
If it helps, I've noticed my Arkham Asylum/City figures are more or less on the same scale as the average NECA human (give or take varying height differences). However, my Preds have at least a full inch over all of them by default, since they're meant to be huge. If they're at that same (or slightly taller) scale, they'll probably be fine. Even if they will automatically look like manlet figs in a head-to-head comparison.
>>5347552
DC Collectibles' stuff is seven inches except for the Icons line and the Batman: The Animated Series stuff. They're not the exact same scale as NECA but they're close enough.
Got my Friday the 13th Part 6 Jason from Amazin and he's pretty great. There are a few minor issues, though.
His head was loose and spun all around before I superglued it down. His hips are also a tad loose, but once you get him posed it doesn't seem like it'll fall.
I also hamhanded the fencepost, but that's more my fault than the figure's.
>>5347791
Isn't the Jason head a peg joint? Couldn't you have just pushed it on tighter instead of gluing it?
>>5347609
>>5347608
Guess I'll get some DC women for my Predators to hunt
>>5347804
It was, but the hole the peg went in was too large to hold it well. It doesn't limit movement in the slightest so I'm not complaining.
Not like I'm ever going to take the head off.
>>5347804
That pic is sending strange messages my way.
>>5347840
DC slags are good for lewd posing.
>>5347870
>tfw no knee joints on Lara
Guess she's gonna be giving standy-handies :^)
>>5346988
i recommend goji 85 and goji 54
they're the best ones
I sure would have liked to have found Leatherface. I hope Ultimate Jason isn't as hard to get when my Toys r us finally get him in
>>5349222
Do you have any FYE's around you? The one near me has a bunch of Leatherfaces. Ultimate and Atari
>>5349294
I second this. I was just at FYE today, and there were still plenty of both Leatherface variants left.
Anyone here use Amazon Prime? Wanted to get my friend a NECA figure for Christmas, I was wondering if it will actually get here in 2 days.
Do they still manage to get the package to its destination in 2 days during christmas time?
>>5349343
99% of the time yes. i would do the 3.99 one day just to make sure
>>5349345
alright, that makes me feel better, thanks
>>5345588
Welp, Gort is going back.
Despite being described as 'excellent condition' the left arm is broken off inside of the box, this clearly happened before it was sent to me.
>>5350159
that's a shame, cause the Gort is a beautiful figure. The 1/4 one is actually how I started collecting
>>5350159
Was it loose originally? That is unfortunate though.
This wasn't my intention, but god damn it feels good.
>>5350256
>>5350266
Any ideas how I can fix the broken arm?
>>5350308
You could try and make a drill peg
>>5349222
I just bought one the other day for $20 shipped from a calendar website. This thing is available all over the place.
And it rules.
WHAT THE FUCK GUYS
I WAITED TO ORDER THE ISOLATION XENO BECAUSE CHRISTMAS TIME AND IM POOR
ITS LITERALLY SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE AND ALREADY GOING FOR $35. I WONT HAVE MONEY UNTIL THE FIRST HOLY SHIT THIS FUCKING SUCKS THIS IS THE ONE XENO I WANTED THE MOST
Do all Toys R Us carry Neca?
I want the AvP preds, and I just dropped by. Looked around for 20 minutes before asking an employee, and he looked at me like I was retarded and said he never even heard of Neca.
I'm considering getting the Ulitmate T-800 but I'm not sure about it. It would be my second Neca, I've got a Hunk figure somewhere.
>>5350474
Only in the west coast
>>5350466
Fucking manage your money better.
>>5350481
Fuck. I'm in Indiana. The only other place in my area that carries toys is FYE, and they still have marines from Aliens series 2 and Nightstorm and Lava planet from god knows how long ago on the shelves.
>>5350483
Fixed income. I only get about $900 for disability + a partial rent housing coupon.
>>5350486
I'm in Indiana as well and my local TRU carries Neca.
>>5350481
False. Like all TRU's carry NECA's Aliens.
>>5350466
Be patient, but vigilant. Keep checking tru.com (or set up an in stock notice), check online stores you wouldn't normally hit up. It's a popular figure, it was bound to happen. I don't think you're screwed just yet though.
>>5350474
Almost all should. They're in the collector aisle, sometimes in an aisle, or on the wall near electronics, depends in how your store is set up.
>>5350474
There's a decent chance that employee probably simply isn't familiar with the company names, only the brand names they stock shit in. Like >>5350504 said, they're probably around those areas. I remember mine used to stock them in the near back of the electronics area, nowhere near the 'collectibles' isle. NECA's never had a huge set-up either, in my experience, so keep that in mind if you can't find what you're looking for.
>>5350474
Technically, the AvP Preds haven't even released yet.
Their official ship date is the 24th. I find that for my TRUs, they don't even get into stock until 1-2 weeks after that. Sometimes longer. They might not even start being in stock in physical stores until early/mid January.
>>5350671
People on other toy forums are posting pics of theirs though. They are out in the wild now.
>>5350691
They've been up on NECA's eBay store for close to a week now, so people might be getting them that way.
>>5350691
really? damn so how are they?
is it everything we hoped for?
>>5351349
thanks, i'm hoping they won't dissapoint
Lazy shots cause I'm tired. You know the bodies, cheap repaint wave, no surprises here. I think Amanda looks reeeeally cute though. I think the face is pretty excellent on this figure. Plus the sculpted headset and the little wisp of hair in front. I love that she comes with a napsack and the tracking device. Helps make her look different from mom at least.
>>5351371
I'm not sure if this'll be the pegwarmer of the set or not. I'd say yes, cause it's the fourth jumpsuit we've gotten...but then it's still beautifully sculpted, and I like the color used on the figure, too. It'd be a really good body for a custom if someone wanted to do that, for sure.
The face on Amanda's good, not as good as the regular figure. Her iris color and pupil color are blending together real bad though, which makes her look more wide-eyed than she really is.
>>5351376
And of course, the xeno. It's the Big Chap. With new legs. Good legs, though! I really love the feet. The tail is gloriously huge and long. If they make a Kenner Scorpion alien, I think this is the mold they need to use to do that as a repaint/retool with. It's almost there as it is. Maybe use the Aliens Warrior head.
Overall? It's a decent wave. Nothing hugely exciting outside of the Xeno. If you like the game, you'll probably like these. I'm happy to add them to the collection, personally. I didn't have any issues with anything. I had to heat up the space suit's elbow to get that moving (wasn't stuck, just tight), and I had to use some boiling water to reform the xeno's toes, cause they were squished up in that bubble. I do hate the little crotch box on the spacesuit figure though, the front flap bumps into it making her forward tilt forward a thing that just won't happen. It's a minor nit, perhaps, but it's the only thing that bugged me posing her.
I'm happy. Your mileage will vary of course.
>>5351376
>that eye
What the fuck? That is terrifying
>AvP Preds are out for delivery today
>One of like, four packages that is going to be delivered today.
Today is the hypest of days.
>>5352251
It's an exhausting feeling! So much to open all at once.
>>5352260
Eh, just checked one and the shipping info shows it will be here tomorrow (some Figuarts and other stuff I imported.)
But the Preds and the others I ordered will be here today still.
Mostly excited about the Predators anyway.
ISOLATION XENO IS IN STOCK ON TRU.COM!!!!
I know someone was worried they'd missed out. So go now fuckers!
>>5352527
>what is a budget
I can afford the $35 if I budget it when I get my check. If I budget my money elsewhere, then I can't run out and just drop $35. You'll understand how this works when you have to live on your own and mommy doesn't buy you all your toys.
>>5352527
>playing the devil's advocate for scalpers
Nasally endowed merchant detected. A brand new figure getting released at $21-25 retail shouldn't automatically cost over $30 online, and that's factoring in shipping expenses. Shit happens, yeah, but it's fucking Christmas time. People don't want to be waiting until next year's pay check to get their shit - especially if there might be an even worse mark-up by then.
Cherno rerelease when?
>>5352803
Which size? I'll sell you mine but his head piece pops off. Perfect condition besides that.
>>5352863
The not big size.
>>5352621
So you're insulting me for being honest? Okay, glad to know that it's probably a mental disability that afflicts you and not just laziness that keeps you unemployed. Mommy doesn't pay my way, but I'm glad that from your high horse you don't mind Uncle Sam paying yours. Don't forget to thank me for your retarded ass getting the chance to milk the government with tax money that my paycheck puts into the system, you gimpshit.
>>5352650
>playing the devil's advocate for scalpers
Huh? I'm just stating a fact. If he's on a government disability fixed income, and $15 above retail is detrimental, he shouldn't be doing this.
Got my AvP Preds. The wait has been worth it.
These fuckers have even more articulation and accessories than I thought they would.
>>5352888
Here is a size comparison between all the bodies;
Jungle Hunter 1.0 on the far left
Jungle Hunter 2.0 next to him.
City Hunter in the middle
Super Predator second from right
AvP on right.
These guys are pretty tall, especially compared to the JH bodies. It isn't so noticeable when you line them up like this, but when you put the AvP body next to the JH body, there is a pretty noticeable difference.
Also, these three come with a fuckton of accessories.
Chopper comes with the two skull staffs for his back. He also comes with three sets of interchangeable wrist blades.
All three Preds come with the knife and the shuriken. They all three come with the removable backpacks with plasma casters. Scar has the unique, bigger plasma caster.
Scar and Chopper come with collapsed combi-staffs, and Celtic comes with an extended staff.
>>5352888
Just got mine too. They're BIG heavy figures, too! The ab crunch doesn't seem to allow much more motion than before, but I don't care. I'll be posting my pics later.
>>5352897
The articulation is insane compared to the other Preds.
New PoAs include;
The ab crunch
Double Jointed elbows
A bicep swivel
A mid forearm swivel
A knee swivel
Another swivel in shin, which is covered by the armor
Also the knee bends (still double jointed) Seem deeper, and the ankles are still ball joints, which seem to have more clearance.
You can see they can do a lot more with their arms than any other NECA Predator. Scar and Chopper have the opening computer on their left forearms. I've got scar pictured here reaching toward his. It still isn't perfect, but it still looks a lot better.
They can also reach around their chest and back and do a HELL of a lot more with their arms than any other NECA Predator.
>>5352905
Holy fuck, I was only going to get scar and call it quits, but now I want the entire wave. Hopefully the wait isn't to bad seeing as I'm in the uk.
>>5352905
I haven't messed around with them too much, because I took a few pics and my camera died...
I do have a few complaints, but they're not that big.
Just like >>5352902 said, the ab crunch isn't super effective, but you can get some more actiony poses that look more natural out of these guys.
Also a question for you >>5352902 Do your helmet hoses on Chopper and Celtic actually attach to anything? Mine are both unattached. I don't even see a place to attach them anywhere. Seems like you're supposed to just wedge them into the armor so it doesn't hinder articulation.
Also, Chopper comes with the knife and collapsed spear, but he can't even hold them, since both hands are closed fists.
The extended spear that comes with Celtic is REALLY thin and fragile. So are the longer claws that come with Scar and Chopper, so you'll have to be careful with those.
Paint was totally on point on all three figures for me. Though, my Scar has two stuck joints that I'l need to work a little.
Another good thing, is that the shoulders, elbows, knees, and like the hips seem to have some ratcheting, so that makes them really strong and hold pretty well.
All in all, I am super happy with these guys. I can't believe how long we've been waiting for these, and they didn't disappoint at all.
>>5352915
>Also a question for you >>5352902 (You) Do your helmet hoses on Chopper and Celtic actually attach to anything? Mine are both unattached. I don't even see a place to attach them anywhere. Seems like you're supposed to just wedge them into the armor so it doesn't hinder articulation.
No, I think they're just meant to be tucked in to the neck area or something. I don't remember in the movie where the hoses ever connected to...I THINK they plug into the backpack. I'm shocked they put those in on these smaller figures finally. They had them on the larger 1/8th masked Predator figures.
Paint on mine are great too. No stuck joints outside of the swivel gauntlet on Scar, which I will remedy soon enough.
>>5352923
>No, I think they're just meant to be tucked in to the neck area or something. I don't remember in the movie where the hoses ever connected to
That's what I thought. Thanks.
Anyone preordered yet? I got mine on pre from toywiz
>>5352945
Well so they do. Neat! Good eye.
I can see folks ham-handing the blades though, they are awful stiff plastic...and I'd probably have liked a softer material used myself. Otherwise, I'm pretty damn happy with these.
Can some anon post comparison pics of wave 2 big chap to the isolation one?
>>5352942
I have. I'm excited. Big motherfucker
>>5353002
fuck yea he is. I have my Romeo Blue and Horizon Brave Jaegar's ready to take this fucker on.
>>5351371
Are their paint apps still wildly varied? I want to pick up Amanda, as Isolation is a favourite game of mine, but at the price point she's gotta look good.
>>5353093
I don't think so? I bought mine online and they're great.
AVP anons: how's the removable armor gimmick? They said a lot early on about how all the parts would be swappable but haven't heard much since.
I just picked up Isolation Xeno and Ult Sarah Connor. Haven't opened yet but very pumped
>>5353234
I'm not sure what you mean by removable armor. The cardbacks go out of their way to tell you the hands, wristblades, and backpacks are swappable, though.
Also, the armor in some areas (like the thigh guards) are pretty loosely put on. Not in a bad way, just in a way that makes it so that articulation and stuff isn't hindered. Maybe you can take some of that stuff off, but I'm not going to mess with it.
Took a few more pics. You can get some pretty decent sitting poses too.
Probably even better than this, if you mess around with it more.
>>5353273
And of course, it wouldn't be AvP if we didn't have this.
>>5353273
oh shit, this is great
compared to monsterarts wolf pred, i assume you have one, how do they stack?
When you start getting into the articulation, the paint, the little tiny pieces and accessories, you really have to wonder how they got away with these only being the $20ish or so. Really impressive figures.
Since Big Red is hard to find and AVP aren't out until 2016 over here, guess I'll make my own Samurai pred
I won a loose lava planet and bad blood and they showed up today with this spear. Anyone know who this goes to?
>>5353314
Planet of the Apes?
>>5353314
Neither to my knowledge. Bad Blood comes with a spear, but it's an actual spear
At TRU In secaucus nj
>>5353373
They also had a bunch of the new Jason figure
Got the isoloation alien today.
Can someone explain this stand to me? It WAY too short and it doesn't actually clip on to anything.
>>5353409
Its the stand that was originally with the Dog Alien, and he had a much thinner torso, which the stand clamped around.
It doesn't really work so well for the Isolation Xeno. I just kind of use the tail to help him stand.
>>5353453
>I just kind of use the tail to help him stand.
Yeah but, the legs are too thin, and the plastic too soft. It stands like, 30 minutes before it slowly starting leaning and eventually topples over.
I get the distinct feeling this thing is headed for my junk box. I hope the AVP Xenos are better.
>>5353516
Dual Spear Ahab?
>>5353373
> Already got Adam
> friend is getting me Ledger for Christmas
> Not one Reeves in 40 to 50 mile range of me
I just have to keep hope, r-right?
>>5353590
You might have to get it from the Scalpers, Anon.
>>5353541
Why not? I figure a bone spear seems fitting for name alone.
>>5353638
i actually want neca to remake ahab using the avp body
and give him a blade
when did avp preds start shipping? I thought they didnt until thursday
when's the earliest to see them in toys r us stores?
>>5353647
You could try swapping heads? Might work
>>5353701
can someonr with the avp preds try this?
switching head with the older preds?
>>5353470
Or, you could just tripod him using the tail, like most aliens. Or just use a Tamashii stand. It's kind of sad that you have to "junk box" something because you're incapable of making it stand. Sell it someone who actually wants the figure on here if it's going to be like that. It's a waste for you to throw something aside.
It's a sad Christmas here at Geordie anon's house, not a single new toy from Neca :^(
On the plus side I have a nice Lara Croft statue to hotglue and a broken Gort which I got for free :^)
Obligatory T&A.
We really need an updated Lara figure (preferably with cowtits + removable clothes)
>>5354381
If you get a new Lara, it would be the new one.
And she will not get a figure because everybody forgot that the new game came out because all the other games that came out at the same times.
>>5354381
>>5354385
>tfw no articulated NECA Lara Croft
Guess i'll just get the Play Arts
For folks who have received her, what are your thoughts on Ultimate Sarah Connor?
>>5355536
TheFwoosh guys seem to like it.
>>5355716
You'd like it too if you received it for free.
>>5355719
Be more of a bitter fucker. That's from the forums where they bought it off the Ebay store dumbass.
Forgive me but I'm no expert here.
I want me a clear domed alien, I avoided the dog alien because I have the video game repaint and my neca collection is comprised of video game repaints or have appeared in games like my tyrant.
So I'm looking at the aliens isolation xeno, looks good, but I found the big chap and the bodies look slightly different, is that right?
So tell me, is the isolation xeno just the dog alien with a new torso (because back tubes) and head, looks bigger than the big chap?
As much as I like it I want as many unique body types as possible.
On that note are the warrior molds shared with anything, the red alien is tempted despite it being from a comic book appearance, one that I did enjoy.
>>5355902
The Isolation xeno is the Big Chap with new legs and longer, different sculpted tail. It shares no parts with the dog. Same size parts on everything else, but the new parts make the new xeno very tall...big chap is tall anyway.
The warrior aliens have the same torsos as big chap I thiiink....but unique sculpt elsewhere.
>>5355904
I see, I guess I can accept it but would you think the isolation one would make a good big chap replacement?
I think I'll eventually get all xeno types, well one of each "kind" except the queen due to space, I just looked at my collection and forgot I had both neca game predators.
I have the blue guy infront of a blue box and predator 2 pred beside him, but positioned behind, no wonder I didn't spot them on a glance.
Time to rotate the display before I forget things again
Any feedback from those that own the alien queen and alien eggs set?
>>5355908
Oh I'd say so, the design is still a classic one, the updated legs are really nice in my opinion, the new toes and heel are sculpted well. I'm rather fond of the dirty greenish paint job too.
>>5355910
Alien queen is magnificent. Seriously one of the best figures neca has out out. And for the price point, it should be.
I have the eggs on order and should be having them shipped this week. I imagine they'll be fine. Nothing crazy, but nice to have.
>>5355912
Sounds good, what's the stability like though?
I seen from a quick unboxing he comes with the dog alien stand which I don't use (have mine on all fours) but if I were to stand this guy would he need that stand as well as big chap or about the same?
Note that there is a bit of... movement where he'll be displayed, won't put me off buying him but I really dislike use of clear arm stands and the little foot attachment stands are expensive for what they are
>>5355922
It kinda depends on how you pose him I reckon. The stand included would be good for more crouched poses, but I tend to tripod my aliens anyway, using their tails.
If you want something more actioney, you may have to invest in some fancier stands...though honestly a cheap $1 doll stand from Hobby Lobby could at least keep them standing no problem too.
>>5355938
Nothing too action-y, just an economical space saver, would throw their arms up like they're creeping up on someone.
That tri-podding though sounds like a great idea, might use that, cheers
>Want the NES Jason Vorhees figure
>Cant fucking find it anywhere
>Dicking around on the internet
>Check out the Gamestop Powerup rewards program
>They have the figure
>It's 22,500 points
>I have 20,800 points
I never been this happy over this rewards program before. Cool figures and variant comic books. It's sweet.
Just got my new nes Jason in from bbts. It's pretty cool except I don't like that it wasn't sealed. Was anyone else's like this? I definitely remember the Neca nes figures I got from retail stores being shrink wrapped.
>>5356197
You mean shrink wrapped?
A lot of their window-boxed figures aren't shrink wrapped anymore.
>>5356197
They don't shrink wrap them anymore. Probably too many people buying things, getting home, and finding wacky paint jobs.
Haven't seen any of the new Jasons in the wild yet, but my Ultimate Jason just arrived from bbts today. The figure's awesome. I only have two minor issues with the figure; his head is a little on the loose side in that it's very easy to make it wobble about as noted by several people who got the figure. Second, and this is way more minor, I feel like this mask could stand to be a bit more rounder to be more accurate to the film, but it's neither issues are big deals. It's a solid figure otherwise, I'd give it an 8/10.
I also just ordered a couple of the NES Jasons, which should arrive next week.
I got the gift of a broken HotS stitches figure after he fell of my shelf and his foot snapped off. I only made it worse by trying to pry out the joint so I could glue/melt it back on so now it's all chewed up.
Guess I'm just going to buy another one, hang on to the broken one for spare parts I guess.
>>5356635
Can't you just...return it? Like if you buy a new one, just return the busted up one saying it came like that. It's your money, of course, but that's what I'd do.
My Ultimate Jason compared with my Final Chapter.
>>5356654
I bought it last month but I can try.
>>5345557
My dad grew up in japan watching godzilla movies as a kid, so I got him the black and white goji for Christmas. I really hope he likes it. I know he misses japan, but i can't afford to take him there, yet. Maybe next year.
Just quickly got back from Toys R Us and they had Alien Isolation figures. I picked them all up and got two Xeno's just now. They didn't have them in the right section though. For some reason they stuck them in a different isle next to the Star Wars and Avengers figures.
Coming in Spring apparently
>>5357117
>Brisco County Sr.jpg
fixt it for you
>>5357117
>Pablo when?
Got my Jumpsuit Amanda today, other than a slightly crooked pupil, she came out pretty damn decent. Has a nice amount of accessories as well. Waiting on the xeno in another package.
>>5356654
That's a pretty dick thing to do when it was his fault it broke.
>>5355536
She's alright. Nothing special, but still nice. Has all the same limitations of any other recent figure using the same articulation setups, but still decent. Continues the trend of painting the shoulder discs and then having the paint instantly come off, but there's not a lot of times I think you'd expose that POA anyway
One thing I'd recommend is to buy in person if the option is available. I went through a case of them and very few had decently painted glasses. The other heads generally looked fine, but I saw a lot of glasses slop.
Otherwise, fun toy. I dig it.
Where can I find the 1/4 big chap with the pulled back lips, our local tru doesn't stock large adult items. and comic shops don't really have anything besides pops and naruto scrolls
>>5357143
>not asking for delicious milf Xena first
>>5357117
Ash lookin' smoooof.
>>5357401
luck of the draw online
>>5357620
Nice.
nothing like getting a amazon gift car to get the Alien queen only for them to take her price up to 149. Thanks amazon sells.
>>5357117
They show these early pictures of sculpts like this and it looks hot toys quality. Like look at that sculpt. that's AMAZING... the subtle creases from again, even the scar on the chin.
It just stinks cus the perfect quality of these sculpts never perfectly carry over to the molds they get made of them, and then even more so the paint that goes over it. They still end up looking good, but theyre never hottoys like that pic
>>5357808
Welcome to all toys in the toy industry forever. Shit changes from sculpt to China. That's life.
>>5357117
Groovy.
>>5357837
Not if glorious Figuarts Bootlegs
>>5357796
Sheeeeiit man that sucks.
I picked her up last month for £70, the next day she was £95~
Merry Christmas :^)
>>5358022
Photo of the mask on the mego version for comparison. It looks like a more accurate sculpt and the figure is a similar size I believe. And the head on it looks like it might be the same on both figures, which might explain why it sits very loose on the Ultimate Jason.
>>5357620
>Scarface
>not Dark or Lord from AvP 2010
Lol. This kinda shit is why most toy collectors just laugh when people bring up Neca.
>>5357620
is that the one from the ps2 game, because i fucking want it if it is.
>>5358650
Yeah, I think it's Jerry.
For those with the isolation xeno, I found mine difficult to stand because of some loose joints and had problems with slipping on that smooth stand it comes with. I used some masking tape on the base and that helped a lot. I think I'm gonna go get some of those little tack glue dots too and put them on the bottom of the feet. Let me know if ya'll want some more pics, hope this helps
>>5358706
Glue dots! That's a fantastic idea that had never occurred to me. Maybe those squishy removable kind could work.
>>5358691
hooray. now he can get into the frat.
>>5345557
Don't frequent /toy/, but I pop in sometimes for my occasional toy pick ups and such. Got this for Christmas and am pretty stoked, the game is okay and the creepy pasta is dumb but whatever.
>>5358554
>wanting Dark over Scarface
Boy I'd sure love another Jungle Hunter body!
Hi, I got a little question and answer thing here, first up the question.
Do bootlegs of neca's big chap exist?
The story goes I went towards some boxing day sales, known collectible shop was having 5% off everything (shit to be quite frank) but went in to see if anything "new" turned up and I found a...dusty beaten up big chap in box for $29.99.
Tried to haggle since he certainly wasn't new and SEALED and they only offered me 10% off so I declined, I'll skip the fact the cashier was scared of me and kept apologizing and why BUT I suspect the figure may of been a bootleg.
The shop sells knock off perfect grade gundam kits (the fucking chinese is a big give away) but it was the big chap himself that made me question since their other figures looked fine.
>body had a sort of silver to it
>dome's attachement looked more like an after thought
>hands didn't look webbed but rather poorly molded with what looked like flash
Did I do good?
>>5359318
Now that I think about it I can't remember much about what the box looked like, but I know the year was 2009 in the copyright info?
Was it just an older release?
>>5359217
He's pretty awesome.
>>5359324
Correct. This was part of their movie monster line before they got the entire franchise license
I used my Gamestop rewards points to order pic related, and I'm so fucking excited.
It will be the third NECA figure of mine, the first two being Flamethrower Robocop, and the Terminator Endoskeleton, which are based off the Robocop vs Terminator game (And not the comic for some reason, even though it came first)
Are there any other NECA figures based off video games?
>>5359414
if I may ask which of the 2 boxes is the newer one?
And to just clarify...was there any bootlegs or was the older release just dodgy?
Worth the 10% off?
>>5359419
There's an NES Batman.
>>5359419
NES Batman, NES Robocop, SMS Rocky, NES Rambo, NES Freddy, NES Predator, SEGA Predator 2, SNES Alien 3, NES Gremlins 2, NES Godzilla, Atari Leatherface
There's also the entire Player Select and Resident Evil lines
>>5359437
There is also terminator vs robocop line, believe they're based off the megadrive version judging from the variety of terminators and fancy power ups for robocop.
>>5359420
>And to just clarify...was there any bootlegs or was the older release just dodgy?
I THINK there are bootlegs of the original original Big Chap. The one with less articulation. Also you can find the original with an all clear dome, which is the version I had.
>>5359420
This one
I just got back from the mall, and they had one of those seasonal "Calendar + Toys" specialty shops that crops up around October or so.
They had all their stuff for 50% off, and I found one of the Terminator Genisys T-800 Guardian figures for $10.
I don't really collect the Terminator stuff, and despite the pretty meh status of Genysis as a movie, I picked the figure up.
Pretty nice figure for the $10.
>>5357117
yeah, but neca is alot better the funko (holy shit those fallout figures look like ass in person) and mcfarlin(hit or miss)
>>5359605
I almost passed that shop a few weeks back until I caught the unburnt version of the stay puft bank in the window. Place was pretty neat. Maybe i'll check it out today and see if there are any deals
>>5356714
if i had money i would pick it up. i have always wanted a jason figure and that seems like the best one.
>>5359795
Yeah, those shops always sell things at a markup, but after Christmas-into January they seem to need everything gone since they're just a temporary storefront or whatever.
Stuff can get down to like, 75% off, but usually all the good stuff is gone by then.
That, and one of the HotS figures was the only NECA stuff they had there.
I was going to buy a couple of the McFarlane Halo figures too, but the price was marked up so high that the 50% off would have barely even made a difference.
>>5359329
Yeah took him out of the box, he's fucking awesome can't stop picking him up and move him around.
>dat tail
>>5359605
Look what I found at mine
>>5360142
Damn! Nice find.
>>5357620
>Scarface
YES
YES
YESSSSSS
>>5360142
Holy shit, did you buy it? Now that's a steal.
>>5360142
hahaah. i love finds like that. was it in one of those weird toy shops at an outlet.
>>5360443
>>5360230
>>5360144
It was one of pic related. I went because of >>5359605
It hurt because I knew it was a good deal but I had to pass, If it was the regular queen I would of bought it immediately. I just have to desire to have a giant red alien.
I considered buying it and returning it to TRU for store credit but that felt like a scummy move.
>>5360809
I grabbed a few things there though
>NECA T-800 Endoskeleton for my who's just getting into collecting
>World of Nintendo Shy Guy
>Matchbox Jeep Willys 4x4
>This random Nicktoons Ren & Stimpy Set (which has a Target exclusive sticker on it?)
It was like $23 or something for everything after the discounts. Pretty awesome.
NECA really nailed it out of the park with this figure; it's tall, well articulated, and the head-sculpt is just fucking aces
>>5360816
For reference, that Scout Trooper is about 6 inches tall
>>5360819
>>5360816
>poor little white boy
I don't own a Neca Predator, what's the best bang for my buck? Also, do any of them have removable masks?
>>5361097
Even though I don't have any yet (cuz Britbong) I would honestly recommend you go for one of the new Predators from the AvP line. The improved articulation looks amazing.
The only ones with removable masks I know of are Ahab, Ambush, Viper, Scavage, Nightstorm. They're kinda gimmicky and the masks look a bit oversized but that's more to do with the design of the predators themselves than the figures.
>>5360809
we have one of those places at a mall near us.
I just want Dead Space :(
>>5347552
Im going to pose some Arkham DC collectibles with some neca figures that i own.
Just for you.
Give me some minutes
>>5361547
>>5361607
oh yeah, the predator, here it is
>>5361097
Most people here currently recommend against buying any of the Neca predators. The QC is almost criminal at this point. It really is a dice roll over whether or not the thing will even have all its limbs in a box. Paint apps have been shit lately, and a lot of the newer preds even have the netting sculpted on, but literally no paint over it, making the predator look like it just has net-patterned lumps all of its skin.
Most of us are holding out for the new AvP body to see how it goes.
>>5361917
Most of that is pure bullshit, other than the netting issue.
>>5361607
i was wondering how the dc arkham figures measured up to neca stuff. thanks for the pics.
>>5361917
>Most people here currently recommend against buying any of the Neca predators.
Hey that's some pretty cool made up bullshit bro! Maybe you're speaking for yourself, but you're completely wrong regardless.
>The QC is almost criminal at this point.
Haha, no.
>It really is a dice roll over whether or not the thing will even have all its limbs in a box.
And there you go making things up again. For what purpose? Like if you would've at least tried to be realistic, maaaybe someone might take you seriously...but you're not even trying.
>Paint apps have been shit lately, and a lot of the newer preds even have the netting sculpted on, but literally no paint over it, making the predator look like it just has net-patterned lumps all of its skin.
This is the only true thing you've said, though you're still a bucktoothed retard for crying about it. But then we've had this argument over and over again, so you bringing it up is a pretty thinly veiled attempt to fight with people and just bullshit.
So essentially, this guy's full of it. Disregard everything he says. If you want a NECA predator, you can't go wrong with the Kenner preds, and the current AvP figures are amazing, too. Removable masks are on the Viper predator, Savage Predator, his repaint, Ahab, and he Ambush Predator (a clear Viper figure essentially). Good shit, trust me.
only Neca predator I have is the NES....I wish I had more.
Oi oi lads.
Still no solid release date for AvP preds in the UK, but Randy said 'early January' when asked on Twitter, so fingers crossed.
So while we have nothing new to pick up in stores, I'm scooping up bargains on ebay. Pic related, £16 brand new in packaging :^)
>>5357620
holy fucking shit, that chainmail armor
cool as fuck
>>5362166
I never knew how jealous I could be until now.
>>5362166
i have the black version one and i've forgotten how dated this figure is
>>5362274
He wasn't cheap. And the plasma cutter doesn't rotate :^(
>>5362395
Dated? What do you mean?
I have the DS1 and DS2 Isaac think they still hold up pretty well even compared to newer figures like Ripley and Dutch. The articulation is a little on the limited side (especially in the arms) but you can still get some great poses out of him. And don't forget about that sweet light up feature. God I wish more figures had those.
A 7 inch scale predator with light up eyes + targeting laser on the mask would be so fucking cool.
>>5363000
There was like a 6" Scar Predator in the Hero Metal Cross (or whatever) line that had a light up laser sight but it was a SD figure and in the end kinda not all that great.
>>5363015
If Neca could somehow incorporate the light up feature into a normal non-chibi shit predator that would be great.
They could make it work similarly to Isaa, it would be pretty easy hide the battery compartment on the back of the figure (possibly under the armor) and then have the screw/flap hidden by the dreads. It could have a red LED for the targetting laser and a yellow one for the eyes, which could hopefully be switched on/off independently. I know I'm probably asking a lot here but it would be really cool to see them attempt it at some point in the future.
>>5362176
Fellow geordie anon here, forbidden planets said there due in the end of January, so I expect recent relics and fantastic toys will get them around the same time, maybe earlier if we are lucky.
>>5363084
I imagine a light in a Predator helmet just for the sight would be a little difficult to do. Let alone a second one for the eyes. For Issac it worked because the light was sort of the the whole head, but that laser-sight on the Predator Masks is tiny.
I mean, it might work on something like the AvP Preds, because the bodies, heads, etc are just bigger than the Past Predators, but it would still be kind of difficult to work with, I'd think.
>>5345557
so what's next for the godzilla neca line?
>>5363276
I goddamn hope it's Millenium or even Kiryu
Just picked up this really obscure Neca figure for £20 new in box. I have no idea who the character is or what the game he comes from is like but I thought he looked pretty cool.
>>5363210
>>5363269
Godspeed anons.
>>5363290
You don't know who Sam Fisher is? Splinter Cell is a great series of games, senpai.
>>5363296
Been playing games all my life but Splinter Cell is one series I never got into. I'm more into fantasy RPG stuff than shooters. Is Sam Fisher the main guy from all of the games?
>>5363313
Yes. That's his look from the fan hated Splinter Cell Conviction.
>>5363458
Conviction was "okay". It was no Blacklist, where it just goes all 24 instead of sneeki breeki
>>5363276
We'll see at toyfair
really hope it's 1974 or 1962
