Lots of stuff hitting Walmarts across the country. Black Series 3 inch wave 2 is out, and wave 3 was just found in Jersey.
Black Series 6 inch wave 3 is out as well, but so far, only in Canada.

If anyone's interested in the TRU exclusive Black Series Rancor set (this thing: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=32885666 ) it's on sale in-store only marked down by 40 bucks. Been wanting this set, but couldn't bring myself to spend $130+tax on it. $90+tax was much more palatable, made even better by the $100 gift card I'd bought for $85 last month. Sale runs through Saturday!
My store had one set left, box completely beat to hell but the figures inside looked great, which suited me just fine as I was just gonna toss the box anyways. Getting these figures outta the package, they are so sweet!
The Rancor is amazing, the sculpt is so detailed and very nicely painted. The figure is also surprisingly articulated (opening/closing jaws, yay!) and has neat touches like a real metal earring in its left ear. He's so huge and his limbs are so heavy that posing him can be tricky, but he is just so rad that it's totally worth the trouble.
Luke and the Gamorrean are cool too! Luke is super articulated including ball-jointed hips and swivel-hinged wrists, along with a nice sculpt. The Gamorrean's articulation isn't on Luke's level, but it's still good and the sculpt is excellent, though I'm not the biggest fan of the soft goods.
Do I have to buy out all of wave 1 order for wave 2 too be shipped to Walmart? They've had a single Luke sitting on the shelf for 3 weeks now and nothing black series has been stocked.

The other three figures you get in the set are an all-new Jabba (for this scale at least, it's based on the same sculpt as the one used for the 6" Jabba), and a slave Leia and C--3PO. Again, all very nice, well-articulated figures! You can remove bits of C-3PO's armor to show his wiring underneath too. One nitpick is that Jabba comes with a drink cup for him to refresh himself with, but it seems too thick for his small hands to hold, so I'm reluctant to let him use it.

And just an observation; Jabba has as much articulation in one arm as a standard TFA figure has for the entire figure, heh.

I live in Europe, saw Black Series figures in store for the first time today. I had no idea they were $40. I'd grab Phasma but I think I'll wait for the SHF for the same price.
I've been looking for a good Darth Vader figure, SHF looks weird to me (the helmet mostly), can't get the plastic model for a decent price, I think the only decent option left I have is the MAFEX (or maybe ARTFX but they're not posable so I'd rather not). Any opinions, comparisons, recommendations?

Well if you're stupid and have your ears and eyes closed, yes. But guess what? Everything's been leaked. We know what the purpose is of everyone. We know how pathetic an attempt at nostalgia this movie is.
The problem stems from the fact that they're just rehashing every design, character arc, and plot devices from the OT. You can homage a set of movies, or you can straight rip them off. And TFA is playing it safe by ripping off the OT. It's the only thing fags like you respond to.

I actually went to my local TRU yesterday to check out the TFA figures and toys and man, quality is really bad across the board.
Even the micromachines vehicles left me disappointed due to how crappy and bendy they were.
It feels like it was made with quantity and not quality in mind to bring to bear the same sort of materialistic sensation that the original Star Wars was, but its done in such a shitty and shoddy way that it feels empty.
Hard to explain what I mean basically Hasbro quality has gone down the shitter compared to those glorious Black Series (2012-13) figure line.
And no doubt its partially because they know consumers will flock to them in droves not caring for quality so they can get away with this shit.

At first I was against the black series (but was a fan of the titanium series) but I...kinda digged the new version of darth vader despite the qc issues, kylo ren has always looked kinda badass (even with the base) and I missed out on the S.H figurarts captain phasma so after 10 mins of staring at 2 boxes (one had poor paint apps, the other's box is a tad fucked) I picked her up, I think this might do it for my black series collection (and with staff discount+$10 off voucher =bargain).

Theres a certain design aesthetic intended for the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire from the very start of the first movie, that this new trilogy is sort of shitting all over I think, and the result is designs that don't look anything near as iconic or interesting as the ones from OT.
I dread to see how they're going to ruin the Scoutrooper, a design so iconic and unique, even if the helmet is paradoxical for the idea of a scout, it just works.
I'll laugh if the redesign gives them narrow vision slits on top of a similar looking and obscuring forward visor.
