Slightly closer look at the individual bots from Yuki's Twitter.

It really looks so wrong as Starscream...
>>5325685
Not gonna lie, I want that Armada Thrust.
>>5325688
Why?
>>5325696
I always liked Armada Thrust's design, even if his actual toy sucked. Also I grew up with Armada so I have plenty of residual love for him.
TL;DR: Nostalgiafagging.
>>5325685

dammit.,
the rest look great.
I might just get this set, Breakdown is the best part.

>>5325677
Man that is tempting. Just so weird and good.
>>5325146
If they do regular Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp then we'll have the three seekers in Leader, Deluxe, and Legends released in CW.
Wait wait. These are all dead guys, right? Then that's not Cyclonus; it's Armada. Mind blown?
>>5325722
I see it as an all unicorn related set.
Cyclonus is g1, but supposedly possessed by galvatron, the one that wanted to become grand galvatron (google that abomination)
Starscream is g1, he wanted to be brought back to life so he asked unicron to help...
Prime breakdown got brought back by unicron and roller was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
In short they're not from the same universe, g1, prime and armada as shown by armada thrust who was killed by a transforming unicron
>>5325722
It's Cyclonus possessed by a dead Galvatron and formatted into a combiner by Unicron with limbs pulled from different realities and they're all dead Decepticons and Roller.
> Hasbro makes random repaints
> bawww why u suk hasblow
> Taktom does the same thing
> OMG best thing ever
Bunch of whiny hypocrites, the lot of you.
>>5325729
I'd like it if these were the kind of repaints Hasbro was putting out.
>>5325729
But they're better repaints with more complicated paint apps, new heads...and fuck an all clear transformer.
You can't fucking paint shit to recreate that.
But whatever, I'm retarded enough to own hasbro's galvatronus and I'm more than retarded enough to own grand galvatron
>>5325729
except these are more creative and clever.
I always wanted a CW Prime Breakdown.
Roller and Armada Thrust are bonuses too.
I don't want the Cyclonus or Starscream tough,
>>5325729
Anon these are all Decepticons except for Tarn. They would shelfwarm harder than a carrot at a Weight Watchers meeting.
>>5325729

>>5325677
Cyclonus I can take or leave, but that Galvatron II torso mode is a must-have
Never saw Armada but Thrust's colours are great
Breakdown's cool I guess
I will never understand Takara's Ghost Starscream fetish but sure whatever
That Roller is instant Need
Tl;dr Takara has gone full retard and I love it.
>>5325737
Funny, the only ones I want are Cyclonus and Starscream.
>>5325763
hey maybe we could split it?
>>5325773
It would be better if you order it and I'll just pay shipping from you. I'm in Canada, and shipping is a wallet deathtrap.
>>5325773
Um that's optimus pondering m8
>>5325685
It's astounding how well the Offroad head works as Breakdown.
My only worry about this set is how well the transparent red plastic on Starscream is gonna handle the combiner ratchet.
>>5325685
the deadcepticons poet society.
>>5325779
dude i'm Canadian too.
I actually like transparent releases.
And I even get why Starscream would be transparent.
But as part of a combiner, it just looks wrong to only have one limb transparent.
>>5325685
When the fuck are they going to start posting Bruticus pics? They've dragged it out for too long.
>>5325801
It would be blastoff that's the holdup, but not even a prototype image yet?

>>5325827
Bruticus had a bigger presence in the G1 cartoon than Defensor, so I hope that's enough for a regular release.
>>5325801
Hasbro asked them to hold off on Shuttle Blast off reveal so they could sell some Take Offs. They don't want another Defensor Debacle where everyone abandons ship for the import.

Is that the FOC headsculpt?
>>5326008
The parts that they made solid. Are those the ones that'll matter when it comes to articulation stress and that's why they're solid or are they just that way for no reason?
>>5325685
Definately my favorite CW set.
I'm probably gonna replace Roller's head with that of Armada Hoist though, if possible.
>>5326021
Theres definitely going to be stress on whatever is connecting that gestalt peg to the red plastic and the area around it.
tl;dr In one years time all of these Starscreams are going to have cracked/completely shattered chests. Also the legs feature a kind of tight peg for holding them together (at least in my versions of that mold), so maybe it'll break there too.
>>5326021
Probably the former. The combiner peg in particular is a very tight ratchet and making it out of clear plastic would be a recipe for disaster.
>>5326001
That's weird, he doesn't look nearly as white in this shot.
>>5326033
The silver winds up mostly on his back in robot mode. Effectively, they're making the IDW character's robot mode turn into the G1 toy's "vehicle" mode.
>>5326001
They really, really should have retooled that head.
>>5326049

So why is the masterpiece/high end collector's market so focused on G1 worship? We all know that Beast Wars was the superior show for lore, characterization, and storytelling next to the original toons extremely transparent commercial purposes for all its hokey charm.
Despite this, HasTak and 3P producers seem to cater exclusively to the G1 design when it comes to the circuit crowd. Why no MP Dinobot, Optimus Primal, or BW Megatron?
>>5326181

Dude Beast Wars was shot in its own way too. Just a different kind of shit. So very corny, it got better in the end but the fist season is like a root canal with them making god-awful jokes all the time and having to shout their transformation. And I say this as someone who likes Beast Wars.

>>5326181
> Why no MP Dinobot, Optimus Primal, or BW Megatron?
Next year is suppossedly the "Year of Masterpiece BW", granted we're still getting MP G1 and we haven't seen much news since that announcement. A proto of BW Optimus' beast mode has been shown, they're shooting for show accuracy(Primal's ape mod perfectly resembles the show it's scary.)
>>5326205

What do people think of the CW Seekers? I'm tempted because I have zero Seekers (especially Starscream) but the headsculpts don't look very good to me and the way the underside of the wings have all this lining on them looks cheap/bad in photos. Wondering if they're any better in hand.
>>5326292

I want to like them and probably would have gotten Starscream if he didn't have the crown.
>>5326257
I should mention that I'm Autovolt.
just so you know who we'll be trading with,
>>5326008
>>5326103
I'd love a translucent Sunstorm version of that.
I'd also totally buy the three coneheads, but probably skip out on Thundercracker and Skywarp.
>>5326181
G1 was way more popular and memorable to people, especially worldwide.
Japan got jokey dubs of Beast Wars so not really much nostalgia there, and most third parties are from China, where Transformers is either Sunbow or Bay.
Beast Wars is basically an out of place footnote in the franchise that has neat consistently been about robots turning into vehicles, equipment, or robot animals, not organic animals that eventually became robotic animals.
>>5326330
>tfw you like Japanese voice acting and Transformers, and watch the Japanese dubs of the shows.
especially having Takehito Koyasu (Dio Brando) as Optimus Primal.
>>5326330
BW has always felt out of place to me. Coupled with the ugly as fuck CG animation of the time and the original toys being pretty bad overall, it's no wonder Hasbro only barely touches on it occasionally.

>wow amazing
>hasbro uses clear plastic

>>5326342

Most of the original G1 toys were shit.
>>5326348

>>5326352
Terrible hand drawn animation looks better than terrible CG animation.
>>5326330
Beast Wars was already a jokey dub with its awful slapstick and fart jokes.
>>5326358
Oh fuck, this so, so much. I loved BW when it came out and had most of the main casts toys, but I recently went back to rewatch it after not having seen it in several years and I swear it was like someone had replaced the show I remembered with garbage. Is this what nostalgia feels like? Where you remember it as awesome but it's actually crap? Feels bad.
At least I still have the toys and they're still how I remember them.
>>5326353
i was actually samefagging lol.
>>5326363
No, nostalgia is when you look at something and still can't see the flaws. All you have here is the realization your kids show, made for kids, to peddle toys to kids, wasn't anything other than a kids show.
>>5326363
Iktf.
That's usually how it is, cartoons aimed for children aren't as enjoyable for the average adult.
>>5325677
Why not Die Totenhosen?
You know who'd make a really cool Armada Thrust retool? Terradive. You can even give him the thruster hands.
>>5326356
I would not have enjoyed g1 cartoon as much if it did not have copious amounts of animation errors
>>5326405
That would have been good.
>>5326426
give me my face.
>>5326004
You're a squid now
You're a jet now
>>5326356
CGI was a very new thing when Beast Wars came out, so it at the very least had that as an excuse.
Hand drawn animation on the other hand has been around since forever. G1 had no excuse for its shitty animation other than it was a shitty advertising cartoon.
>>5325684
Yep, still a whiny bitch
>>5326439
But the difference is G1 wasn't trying, it's well known most of the writers and actors worked while either drunk or on drugs or both. But BW was trying, really hard at that, and that's part of its downfall: it coukdnt decide if it wanted to be a farty kids show or an over the top lore wank. At least G1 knew what it was and never pretended to be anything else, even with the movie wiping out most of the cast so they could push the newer toys.
>>5325696
Why not?

>Nothing should ever aspire for anything more than mediocrity

>>5326449
>But the difference is G1 wasn't trying, it's well known most of the writers and actors worked while either drunk or on drugs or both.
I've read the interviews, and a lot of the voice actors and writers are actually proud of what they accomplished. They most certainly were putting in some effort.
>But BW was trying, really hard at that, and that's part of its downfall
I'm by no means saying BW is a masterpiece, but I'm not sure you can say that was its downfall when it's generally considered to be the pinnacle of Transformers shows. Apparently they succeeded by the very fact that it's not as shitty as the other shit we've gotten.
>>5326449
>most of the writers and actors were drunk or on drugs
Source?
>>5326464
It was retarded.
>We want to use Starscream again!
>But they killed him in the movie
>Fuck it, lets just make him a ghost.
>But...He's a robot, sir.
>I don't give a shit. The audience for this barely knows how to even shit in a real toilet yet.
>>5326466
The essential 'problem' of BW is that the show was great but the toyline was mostly shitty thanks to the infamous levels of shellformer syndrome and kibble on most of the figures. This leaves a sour taste in the mouth of most collectors and is why I think you don't see a lot of BW stuff now despite the ship's popularity.
As for the G1 alt modes being cooler and all...who really gives a shit? Do alt modes /really/ matter that much? It's certainly the fun gimmicky part of franchise but for me after I've had fun transforming a new toy for a month or so I just display them permanently in bot mode.
>>5326405
Such a excellent Jet deluxe.
>>5326505
A lot of the early toys were kinda meh it's true, though there were definitely exceptions to that (Optimus Primal for example). A lot of the later toys were pretty great though.
>>5326449
>>5326466
the VA's definitely should be proud, since they really brought and added more to the characters than the writing.
>>5325936
he isn't
>>5326455
Not when it's an obvious toy commercial.
>>5326538
>implying this hard to try and make a point
There is a reason everything thinks you're a faggot.
>>5326565
I'm assuming you got triggered by the Bayverse comment since you can't argue against the BW toys.
Bayformer movies don't try to be serious. They are films written with an awareness that they are toy commercials, which is why there's so much puerile humor. There's also a big emphasis on explosions, another thing kids love.
The plots also aren't any more serious than The Key to Vector Sigma or any other "Megatron tries to destroy the world" G1 episode.
As for QUALITY animation, the Bayverse also has it. There's a reason why so many people can't tell what's happening in some scenes.
And killing dudes to hype up other character's toys is old hat. Megs kills Jazz. The Twins kill Devastator. Sentinel Prime kills Ironhide. Lockdown kills Ratchet.
>>5326561
It could be more than a toy commercial. Hell, it could be the next Batman: TAS or Gargoyles if they really wanted it to be.
Problem is rather than trying to develop a solid, quality product and an engaging storyline, they'd rather just shit out whatever is cheapest and easiest, and then hope toys based on it sell.
>>5326142
Isnt he an Autobot? Why's he with a group of Decepticons?
>>5326619
Ex-Autobot at best, more likely used to be friends with people that were eventually Autobots and either way drifting alone through dimensions until found by Unicron's proxies.
>>5325883
>the feminist is the most useless person in the room
sounds about right to me.
>>5326482
Dan Gilvezan's book "bumblebee and me, my life as a G1 transformer" mentions that occasionally certain members of the cast would get drunk at half time and do the second half of the session shitfaced. Chris Latta regularly was under the influence of drug and was a functional alcoholic, which contributed to his early death.
But wally burr made them work. If he had you for an 8 hour session, and you nailed the line for the first take, he was sure as hell gonna make you do the fill 8 hours. There was no union for voice actors back then. They all got pushed really hard. It mentions one particular recording session with frank welker where blood actually shot out of his mouth onto the window before wally said he could take a break.
He's usually not spoken about too fondly when he's brought up in panel interviews.
>>5326448
>thinking something looks stupid
>whiny bitch.
Yeah, okay.
Anyone know why some of the bots for the CW lineup got renamed? Wildrider, Slingshot, etc? Was it license issues?
>>5326640

>>5326640
yeah Maurice LaMarche realy hated Burr for a long time, but they've patched things up at BotCon a few years ago.
>>5326530
But they're shrimpy. Legends aren't serious toys, they're autist pocket toys.
>>5326640
>It mentions one particular recording session with frank welker where blood actually shot out of his mouth onto the window before wally said he could take a break.
I feel so bad for all of them then, this is bullshit.
>>5326181
Jap fan have no real love for Beast Wars most likely because how hilariously fucked their dub was, much like all the dubs of the american TF shows post-G1.
>>5326530
Haven't seen him in person, the crown is removable? Thought it was molded on.
>>5326649
yeah Hasbro doesn't have Slingshot or Wildrider hence Quickslinger and Break-Neck.
>>5326684
Yes, it is a separate part.
I just found out the hole to plug Tracks into his stand also perfectly fits a Stage Act 4.
>>5326652

>>5326093
>The Cassettes just had to get another year to clog up the shelves.
I really hope this doesn't happen. I didn't see a Generations Legends figure until Cosmos, and Gears (a year after both were released in the US) since no one bought those shitty two packs.
>>5326975
I know what you are talking about but I can't find it. I know it has something about "for the glory of Megatron."
>>5326108
Unicron theme?
>>5326942
>Beeimus Prime
You know what'd be kinda cool? A "Matrix Wars" that releases new toys of the more "classic" g1 guys that haven't gotten new mold toys in years. The catch is that every figure has a functional matrix chamber that activates a "prime mode" when the matrix is inserted into them. It could either involve a few small hidden spring-loaded bits or expose armor ports that included armor could plug into (and possibly use a universal connection between other figures for interchangeable armor).
Unfortunately, I don't think either of those gimmicks would work particularly well without some armada-tier compromising of the actual figure.
>>5326971
It's in between movies right now so the only line with him in it is Bumblebee & Friends.
Is it just me, or is the Titans Return toyline looking barren, and what's there isn't particularly good...
>>5327051
Well it's a few months from getting released, and we didn't see anything other than Superion and Menasor for CW until Feb 2015 Toyfair so...

>>5327051

>>5327080
Man, I love that theme too. Epic stuff.
I'm getting the urge to take mine out of storage and transform it.
How can you tell which is which between 'Legion Class' and 'Warrior Class' Robots in Disguise Transformers? The packaging is identical and does not say anywhere what class it is.

Warrior are the deluxes and legion are the what used to be called legends.

>>5327157
There was also suppose to be a Legends Brawn, and Legends Sharticon Gnaw.

I'm probably the only person here that wants a decent Wheelie. Poor fuckers probably reusing the Legends Bumblebee mold, but I really don't want that to happen.
>>5327279
> While he doesn't look like he fits in the leader price point
He's a large well articulated triple changer with 2 of the molds being faithful to the original and the third extra being used for smaller figures.
Yeah. Not looking leader price worthy at all.
>>5327359
At least Barrage has a chance.
The Throttlebots aren't exacly popular, and neither are the Triggerbots/Triggercons.
>>5327368
I think the GDO Jazz remold one is probably as good as it's gonna get. That or the old Legends.
>>5327368
I hate the character but like his design.
I don't see why we Can't. He's far from an obscure choice like they've been doing. He sure as hell is more well known than many CHUGs lately before combiner wars.
Since we're all talking about Legend figures, how many of you are annoyed they aren't including weapons for a bunch of them?
No third party group is doing anything about it either.
>>5327409
Depends on the figure. Bombshell has his gunhands, so thats ok. Shockwave is always armed by design.
Others like Powerglide though should've come with some sort of gun.
>>5327414
No way, Bombshell and Skrapnel should have gotten proper guns.
After Kickback comes out I hope a Turd makes repros of their G1 guns
>>5327414
I was fine with Bombshell not having a weapon, but I felt the gunhands are retarded.
And Shockwave never needs accessories, you're right there.
>>5327418
Skrapnel does have a gun though. Granted it's a Targetmaster (or whatever), but it's a pretty damn big cannon in gun mode. I like it.
>>5327427
While Reflector is okay, he's not really a good stand in for Shrapnel's gun. For toys that are so G1, I really wish we could get proper guns for them
>>5327427
I'm ok with that, but there still a bunch of guys that got nothing:
-Bombshell
-Groove
-Override
-Windcharger (didn't even get the magnet part this time)
-Chop Shop
-Powerglide
-Viper
It kind of sucks. I'd even take a targetmaster if it meant them a weapon.
>>5327459
Why would any of those combiner pieces, especially the ones that turn into weapons, need personal weapons?
>>5327466
Because when they aren't combined with anything, they don't have any weapons to fight with.
>>5327466
Because they're still individual toys if you don't choose to take advantage of their gimmick?
>>5327466
Sure, why would Deluxe CW figures need weapons? They turn into arms, and legs! They don't need weapons for that!
>>5327478
>...they aren't talking about deluxes.
No shit, Sherlock.
>>5327483
Then why bring up deluxes? Were you trying to make the point that they don't need weapons in limb mode as a counter argument to what they said? If so you should probably stick with that you misread them because you aren't getting the point and made yourself look like a fool.
Guess I'll make it simple. They are saying "why give a weapon to a weapon?"
A bit redundant.
>>5327239
Fortunately, he's a Leader class
Which means he will be around the same size as old Voyagers, considering how friggin small Sentinel appears.
>>5327476
Niigggggerrrrrrr
>>5327542
Oh shit was checking if banned
Sorry
>>5327487
>because a thing is another thing it doesn't need weapons!
Is this what we've fallen to? People defending the lack of weapons because "w...what we got is good enough....?"
For fucks sake, you people will be defending Transformers that don't transform next. Anything to suck corporate cock I guess
Fucking retards
>>5327051
Totally agree.
>>5327551
>you people will be defending Transformers that don't transform next.
Too late. Some actually defended those "shampoo bottles."
>yfw you gotten unite warriors grand galvatron for less than $110 with free shipping
Gotta love early bird offers
>>5327080
Don't make it the Hybrid Style one though.
i hunted for THS Galaxy Convoy for a while, but he's such a disappointment. He doesn't even have thigh swivels, something the larger toy did have!
Thats right, the kids toy has more articulation than the collectable...
>>5327418
>I hope a Turd makes repros of their G1 guns
Dude there's already a bunch of options for their guns. Maiden Japan has a set of guns. Fansproject has the guns included with their Deluxe Insecticon three pack. And there's more than three people on Shapeways who have made those guns, Sunlink comes to mind
>>5327097
Huh.. Planned all along.
Does this mean we might get some Seekers in an unannounced wave?
>>5327551
So trying to change the subject?
Also technically the only legends with no a weapon is groove. You can Say that's all because hes a protecto bot. Or that they couldn't find out what to do with the weapon in chest mode.
>>5327080
Galaxy Force had the best OST in the whole franchise.
>>5327359
I have a feeling they'll repaint or retool Bombshell.
Honest question, try to generalize to some extent.
Year of the goat soundwave, you know that ugly clear colored mp soundwave?
So a local chain has him on clearance, which pisses me off because I bought him at $50 more using multiple coupons.
What is the...interest rate, as in how many people are keen on grabbing him from ebay?
I could recoup the cost and perhaps profit but if no one wants it it'll be a waste of space if I try to sell it or not.
So, should I put up with him or will there be any chance of getting some cash out of him?
>>5327093
> Radio Towers
> Turrets
> At a rave club
Where you clubbing at? Bosnia?
>>5327675
him being on clearance should already tell you how popular he is on ebay you bonehead.
>>5327685
Well I had a glance and they're still going for $200 on ebay.
Which is double of what the clearance rate is.
>>5327675
No one really wanted it.
Hasbro should have just reissues regular MP Soundwave. You know, because it never sold anywhere except in scalper bull shit.
>>5327675
why the HECKERONI would you buy that
>>5327687
A shame, oh well, I guess I have to put up with how much I paid for him in the first place
>>5327690
I developed a weakness for clear exclusive things, I wanted to see mp soundwave and at the time he was at the cheapest he'd been.
I'm aware of plastic tolerances, I have gundam models, soundwave is still in his box until I can make some room so he can be displayed in his glory and would most likely stay in robot mode for his lifetime.
There is one clear transformer I wouldn't get and that's mp-3g, I have to smash in the legs to get the legs to convert on my mp11, to do that to clear plastic would be a fucking sin.
>>5327639
>I have a feeling they'll repaint or retool Bombshell.
This is sounding familiar...
>>5327699
It makes sense to redeco the main three as the three deluxes, so it should really come as no surprise that we're gonna get a Bombshell Barrage to go with the Shrapnel Chop Shop.
>>5327699
>third parties copy g1
>hasbro must be copying turds
go back to your general
>>5327202
>Wanting Depth Charge back
Why? His death was the perfect conclusion for his character.
>dem rook skates
>dem rook everything on skylynx
This works better than ferguson prime, in my honest opinion
>>5327699
I am shocked that Hasbro would stoop ao low as to copy some other honest company's idea and IP!
SHOCKED!
>>5327737
Woah. Who the fuck got Sky Lynx and why are they fantastic?
>>5327731
the g1 deluxe insecticons were brand new molds from outside the diaclone line.
recoloring present day insecticon molds for the deluxes was first done by fansprojects.
>>5327737
Where can I get those swords?
>>5327616
>combining Seekers repaint-a-thons with combiner wars mold reuse
I see next years crop of bitching is gonna be a big harvest.
Does anyone here have lil' Shocky yet? I know about the custom peg, but I haven't seen any pictures of him actually in the hands of a combiner.
>>5327914
Literally JUST pulled him out of my mail this morning, and just got him out of the package.
>>5327922
Oh man, right on time then.
>>5327922
>So... how many deluxes can actually wield him? I'm guessing most voyayers can't since their fists are too big.
>>5327728
>the three deluxe
But there are four deluxe insecticons
>>5327924
>>5327932
I'll check, I don't have any of my combiners combined up at the moment, but I can pull out a fist and check on some of my voyagers.
For shits and giggles I put him in Hotrods hands, and he fits there no problem. Of course the weight is way too much for him to STAND, but eh, I think it's cool he fits.
>>5327914
According to peaugh's video, the extra peg seems to made specifically so that the gun is more stable in combiners' hands
>>5327476
We're talking about figures who literally turn into guns. They don't need a gun as well. That's as retarded as Leader Megatron having those two little guns when he has the giant cannon.
Not everything needs to include a gun, especially legends. Once you reach deluxe, then that's different.
>>5327939
Sorry, I meant
>three of the deluxes
Not that the three are the only ones.
But really, Barrage, Chop Shop, and Ransack pretty much share alt modes with Bombshell, Shrapnel, and Kickback.
Venom can go get fucked until someone finds a moldmate for him.
>>5327942
Yeah, that's exactly what it's for, but I haven't really seen any good closeups.
This is how it looks in the combiner fists. It's uh...I dunno if you can see, but his purple chest plate sort of blocks the peg from going in too far due to the detail on the fist?
>>5327675
>clear and gold plastic
what the actual fuck was Hasbro actually thinking. the worst colour combination and plastic combination you could do.
>>5327699
i'd be ok with that...i just want Barrage from Bombshell.
>>5327914
>custom peg
Why? The pegs it comes with wouldn't be considered custom.
>>5327963
UW Dragstrip actually holds him very loosely. If my fingers weren't propping it up, he'd flop to the side. Dunno if it's Dragstrip's fists in particular are a little mis-sized on the inside, or if my peg on Shockwave is, or if he's just held very loosely in general by Deluxes.
tl;dr Your mileage may vary, Anon's.
>>5327968
God the UW dragstrips paint scheme is so fucking awful.
>>5327968
Voyager CW Optimus' big meaty punchin' robot fists are too chunky to hold him.
>>5327967
>wut?
>>5327675
If I saw one of these deep clearanced enough I'd buy it for the transparent cassettes. They look baller as fuck.
>>5327963
Does it seem that the extra stick in front of the peg helps at all? I'd imagine most combiner hands can hold a 5mm peg no problem is mine are anything to go by.
Unless that peg does something really cool with Onslaught or is a super obscure fan-service feature like pic related, then I'm sanding mine off.
>>5327968
I keep forgetting how dull UW Drag Strip is.
>>5327981
It doesn't feel any more or less secure than any other weapon in a combiner fist to me. Shockwave is supposed to plug into Onslaught's gun turret though in both vehicle mode and in Bruticus mode, so I'd hold off on sawing it until you're certain it doesn't need that extra peg to hook in.
Here he is in Voyager Blitzwing's hands. The first finger on his fist mold sort of got in the way, but definitely not enough for it to harm the peg in any way from what I could tell.
>>5327963
How does he fare on other fists? they don't all have obtrusive side details.
>>5327922
>crushing his robo nuts
>>5327922
>CW Hot Rod
You know, he doesn't look all that bad. Surely he's a better fit for a G1 Cyberverse collection than the Legion-sized Roddy.
>>5327991
Ok, heres where it gets odd. Here he is in UW Superion's fist. Theres no obstructing detail so he slots in as far as he can go. He's a lil' loose in this hand, he'd flop to the side if I held it "inward".
>>5328002
BUT, as shown, it won't prevent inside movement, only outside. As you can clearly see, he has no problem moving inward.
>>5328000
>>5327994
He's my only Hotrod, and I like him a lot. I wish I had a nice Deluxe or Voyager one with better detail and his trademark spoiler/wings on his back.
>>5328017
>gangsta Bruticus
Well, he is a big bad Dudicus.
>>5328024
Anyway, I love the figure so far. He looks very nice, and he has the articulation you should expect him to have. Though as you can see above, the extra peg is kind of weird and it's very figure dependant on who can actually hold him, even within the same size class of figures, and my PE combiner fists aren't here yet to see how he handles in those, and they won't be here for a while sadly.
Happy I could show you guys a few things and hopefully answer some questions though.
>>5328046
Thanks for answering, and I hope you have fun with that guy.
Oh -- one more thing. Those translucent parts on his legs.. Are they separate pieces of plastic, or are his lower legs made of trans-pink with purple paint on top?
>>5328046
Thanks for sharing!
I will keep an eye out for this guy!
>>5328056
His legs appear(?) to be made of plastic that goes pink to purple with paint on top of it? I...Can't really tell. Heres a pic, maybe you can tell better than I can.
>>5328056
Lower legs and lower arms are painted trans pink. The trans pink of the chest is a separate piece on purple plastic.
>>5328046
I was thinking of getting 2 Shockwaves, but limiting how many figures can hold him in gun mode is terrible.
Wait are they seriously not releasing the limbs to Computron?
>>5328114
It is kind of weird they did it like that, the only thing I can assume is it's either needed to plug him into Onslaught's turret in vehicle mode, which I can't test myself because I don't have Onslaught yet, or there was some sort of design reason they needed to do it like that.
If it turns out theres no real reason for it to be there, it should be possible to just clip it off, but I'd definitely hold off on doing that just in case, and personally, I'd never try cutting it.
>>5328122
No one knows, but right now it certainly looks like he's not getting any limbs from Hasbro. Who knows if Takara will do it, but given they're even making a whole Galvatron combiner, they'd probably make a Computron set.
Combiner Wars is pure shit
>>5328136
shit was so cash
Shockwave and fracture were due to arrive today.
Minutes ago the delivery date was changed to Friday.
What the fuck....
Oh well. I'll probably cut that peg off shockwave. Don't know why others haven't thought of it.
>>5328165
Well some say that it might help peg into onslaught better, but no one's sure yet
>>5328197
Guess I'm not worried about that since I'm not buying onslaught. I have less to lose.
>>5327968
>UW Dragstrip actually holds him very loosely
Where are all those faggots that are always championing closed fists because they hold weapons better than open ones? Blown the fuck out, desu.
>>5327985
>so I'd hold off on sawing it until you're certain it doesn't need that extra peg to hook in
I'm totally sawing mine off, so I can stick him on Legends Megatron's tank turret, or on the backs of the Legends seekers.
>>5327984
I'd rather too dull than obnoxiously clashing. I can think of a few toys ruined by an excess of color choices.
>>5328217
Not really. I mean you are ignoring the rest of the posts. Besides the open hand would have way more trouble with the stupid fingers.
>>5328227
Except Hasbro dragstrip isn't clashing. Its the same colors, but better applications.
>>5328217
Closed hands are usually better. It could be a mold issue with my Shockwave peg, I dunno.
>>5328245
tolerances are off on all the CW hands and pegs if I recall, so it could be a combo of his peg being too small AND the hands being too big
Oh, and for anyone else curious, I also got Chopshop.
He's just a recolored Shrapnel with a different though, minus the Targetmaster. I liked the mold and the colors so I picked him up along with my Shockwave,
>>5328253
Doesn't help that all the combiner weapons have all kinds of stupid pegs. I saear Breakdown's weapon has two different sized posts and Deadend's literally does have two.
Why does hasbro keep using those three prong posts? They couldn't even hold Blackjack the first time, so why didn't they retool them and Deadend's pipe?
The peg on my Streetwise's foot/hand piece is smaller than average, so it falls right off.
What can I do?
>>5328336
You could try putting a thin layer of superglue on the peg itself (or some kinds of clear nail polish as long as it won't damage the plastic?), and then letting it dry, and repeating until it's built up enough to hold the peg properly.
>>5327097
Isn't that Blades' head?
>>5328381
Optimus Primal V1 is fucking insane. Rarely is a Transformer that well armed:
-Twin Ass cannons
-Hidden twin barrel gun in the left arm (really wish the 2006 version had retooled it to resemble the show, but I still like it)
-Two swords
-A Flail
>>5328323
sweet. I think he's a pretty awesome repaint idea.
i'm a bit worried of the plastic snaping in the future though.
>>5328381
yep. David Kaye's Megatron is still the best, charismatic, hilarious and diabolical.
>>5328487
He doesn't feel like he's going to snap anywhere. My Shrapnel has stress marks on his left mandible's grey plastic, but he came like that, so I'm thinking it's from them inserting the pin, because it certainly doesn't feel like I'm putting any stress on the mandible during transformation, and his right mandible is loose as fuck.
>>5328502
well ok that's good. just worried since he's got brown plastic and that's why Transmetal Megatron is usually broken these days.
>>5327595
Funny, but no, he's talking about Titan Heroes. I have a mind to buy one on clearance, take a Dremel to it and turn it into a Pretender.
>>5327051
Got Buzzsaw today, he's supposed to fit in Blaster/Soundwave's chest, right?
>>5325729
The difference between this and Hasbro's repaints is that Hasbro did the 1984 autobot cars. Again.
>>5326505
>but the toyline was mostly shitty
That applies infinitely more to G1 though
>>5326607
No, Bayverse is written to be car commercials rather than toy commercials.
>>5325729
Anon gets it.
Had we gotten say, a bunch of Throttlebot repaints, or some homage to Old Car Rpbots/RID or an Armada homage, everyone would have been into it.
1984 Autobots...
Again...
For two waves...
MEH.
>>5326619
there is some theories that said he is tarn (or jason todd, why not)
I know scale is an issue with Transformers, but with Combiner Wars Buzzsaw in hand, I am reminded of those digital keychain picture viewers.
>>5327051
I really hope Takara does a Twincast redeco of that. If you're gonna have a Headmaster Blaster, he might as well BE Blaster-in-Headmasters.
>>5328487
want this
