Dragonball is having a resurgance in popularity lately, so Bandai is probably just testing the waters.
Awakening Goku represents a very iconic time period even for casual fans, and Beerus is relevant to current media like Super. If they sell well more retail releases might be possible, but exclusives are just safer for Bandai. Especially for characters that aren't Goku.

they haven't even made prototypes. nothing to release. and because of the popularity in america, the character survey results are having much more of a sway. the most vocal fans just want saiyans and more saiyans and that's largely what we're getting.
and while gohan is a saiyan, the business side obviously wants to cut costs and reuse as many parts as possible, giving them even less incentive to branch out on new molds. (capes, helmets, male sized skirts, new vest mold to be used for only one characters)

Yeah honestly I think ti works pretty well. Tagoma was a nothing character who was just fodder. But his design works well repurposed as Captain Ginyu's new form. It even matches up with a lot of actual form changes. Compared to Ginyu's old body, he's taller, more streamlined and loses superfluous details(like Ginyu's brain veins and horns). If he had this as a final form 20 years ago it'd make perfect sense.
Besides, if you really hate this, vegeta's gonna kill him next week anyway.

Goku isn't really so bad, but for some reason they seem to have casted his Instant Transmission hand in the same orange color of his Gi, and then painted a flesh tone. Mine is missing a big chunk of paint right off the palm, so that orange is showing through already. Luckily, every fucking Goku has that hand, so it isn't really a huge issue.
My Golden Frieza is already missing a bit of his metallic gold paint on his left bicep, so that kind of sucks. It isn't super noticeable, but still triggers my OCD a little sometimes, He also seems to like to pop apart where the waist sits on the hip joint. I mean, it fits pretty snug until you start to move him around a bit, then it comes apart.
Still like both figures, though. Glad to have the base Goku head that comes with SSGSS, though I wish we could have gotten at least one more face with it. And this Frieza makes me wish I had been collected back when the original Frieza came out and he wasn't rapey prices now, because he is a fun little figure.
