I'm thinking of getting the "Chinese Metal Build" Huckebein for Christmas. Watched a couple of reviews and stuff, seems decent at around $100...

anyone here owns this? care to share your opinion?

There's quality control issues all over from joints to glue marks , to missing sword handles , or extra hands , etc . The shoulder joints that swing forward and backward are loose , the skirt armor are floppy, some ankles are extreme loose . Weapons missing parts , big cannon does not lock in place with extended or collapsed.

After shipping it's no longer $100 , it's more like $145.

But it does look very good when you display it on the stand . If you can get it for $100 , go for it .
>>
thanks, yeah there are alot being sold on taobao with free shipping of $5 shipping
>>
Where can i find it? It seem cool.

or go to taobao.com and search for fanmade metal saga rtx-008
>>
This seems bretty cool. I'm assuming it's ~1/100 just like the Metal Builds?
>>
>>5307993
that sounds like a whole fucking lot of issues
>>5311760
yes
>>
>>5307925
also, is there still no new info about the supposed re-release of the MB Destiny? not the Heine's version, but the normal one along its own wings of light set
similarly, could we ever expect a restock of any other metal builds? even if they are sold in the web exclusive section?
>>
>>5312677
Yeah , but it's all the qc issues that's been reported from their first run. Your chances of getting one that have all those qc is pretty slim. The main qc that is across the board is the loose forward/backward shoulder joints and the loose skirt armor . Everything else is hit or miss .
>>
>>5313292
The line's had a small run so far so there's not a lot of info to go on. So far only the Freedom's been reissued with small updates, and the OO Raiser did as well with new updates to the body and markings.

Exia/Gold Frame released somewhat recently so a re-issue isn't likely. Only other bit of info i the Destiny with the Wing of Light may be an online exclusive.
>>
>>5313292
Metal Build Laevatein apparently will also be reisued with the new anime
>>5313538
>Exia
still hurts not getting it when it was released, I can shell the 30k yen they ask for it though, should I bite? I just love the design and seems like the best iteration of the Exia out there

are you sure you don't want a MB Exia Avalanche instead?
>>
>>5313675
I don't like the Avalanche
vanilla Exia all the way, it also has the R3 parts
>>
>>5313636
That really sucks, MB Exia had the longest window of opportunity to buy for some reason. Probably something to do with Bandai releasing the Repair with R2 parts which needed the original MB Exia to put the parts on. Hell even the US Amazon had em for $160 for months.

But for 30,000 yen or about $250 it's really up to you. If you do not build models and hell even if you the MB Exia is the best looking out of the kits and figures. But the metal joints will wear loose if you fuck around with it a lot and there's no way to re tighten them like you can with RDs or gunpla. It's mostly a statue that you can re-pose every now and then.

It's a $90 mark up but fuck I can't say shit since I hopped on the Red Astray/Flight pack train and have to pay an extra $70

I have vanila exia and seven swords but i bought them both for retail. >>5313867 is right in a way they are not for frequent or even arguably semi frequent handling. buuuut they are truly some of the nicest figures i have and the quality is very good. Exia is worlds better than seven swords as he was the first of his kind and it shows. if you really want it go for it its a fantastic display piece and truly impressively gorgeous.i just got RD penelope too so i'm pretty excited for him to go next to unicorn

I don't mess with them often, other than the original OO Gundam they can hold a pose forever. Also have to point out they're not perfect QC wise. You will find nubs on them and improper paint apps here and there.
Frame wise they're getting better with each release, the random QC issues are consistent. Not bad as you have to look close to find anything wrong with em.
>>
>>5314708
Those blue and white look so damd good. I might have to get another MB Exia just to have it in all the modes like you. Should have brought it when they were 16000 yen . Now need to set money aside for the red frame set, and the wol effect parts for MB strike freedom .

An advice.
I know that the GN Sword is really cool, but ... if you can do NOT buy the Seven sword. Tries to get the 00 Raiser limited. It cost less, has better joints and more precise details. Of course it is always expensive, but In my opinion it's the best 00 that you can find, although it remains below to the Exia.

And, guys, tale alook for the Nxedge 00 Gundam. It's really great.

I think I saw one in mandarake for 65k yen wat the flying fuck

>>5325587
Yeah the 00 raiser limited marking is over all better than the 7sword , it's too bad they didn't just sell a 7 sword options pack. Wonder how much just for the big ass sword right now . But the most expensive is the Trans am raiser limited

Wasn't there also a Hucky model that some 3rd party was making as well?
>>
>>5327788
that's the Metal Saga thing
originally it was being advertised as a 1/100 model kit, but for some reason they decided to try to make it a metal build
funny, mandarake has one for 22k yen
>>
>>5313675
seeing how bloody expensive the Exia is, I think I might get the Exia Repair, which is only half the price, anyone here owns it?
>>
>>5328875
and you get half the arm along with damage arm, etc., but it it does look very good.
>>
>>5328931
I mean damage armOR. The repair can not change into the other Exia.
>>
>>5328941
I know, but I think the busted Exia does look awesome and has a charm the vanilla one lacks
>>
>>5313292
Not sure about the MB, but if you can into Gunpla, and aren't squeamish about buying third party kits, Dragon Momoko is about to release a "MG" of the Destiny, based on the design of the Metal Build.

Some sites are taking preorders already, slated to release this month. WoL included if you preorder. If it's anything like their recent Launcher and Sword Strike, based on the PG, it should be a decent build.

This is OP, after making the post I took the plunge and ordered the metal saga Huckebein. It just arrived today along with these... (I got a little out of hand on the spending :P)

I'd have to say I'm very impress with the quality, none of the problems mentioned in the reviews are on mine; I guess it is the difference between the first and the second batch.

Took the advice of anon to getting the MB 00 raiser. unfortunately by then the 7 sword I ordered previously was processed before I could cancel so I'm just gonna keep both. Yes, MB 00 raiser body much much better than the seven sword body. I may just put the 7 sword parts on the 00 raiser body and display that instead, since I don't like the raiser add-on

yeah the MB Strike Freedom probably the best looking Strike Freedom to date. They buff that thing up and give it more sharp lining. Sold out in japan so the price is going up there.
But want anon said about your pose is true too and that's not including the size of your photo at 3.05mb and it's fuzzy. here is a pic of what your pose is suppose to look like, notice the legs , arms, and head? The size of the photo is smaller and it's nice and sharp.
But either way, awesome purchase.

shoulder front-back swing and front skirt sideway swing a little loose, every other joints tight as "VP"

joint-wise can hold a pose with the cannon, but the problem is center of gravity, will tip over if not on the stand

>>5335071
I thought so initially before buying, that they have factories in china with a bunch of 00 metal frames not passing QC waiting to be repurposed. After comparing the two I can say that the metal frame is indeed different. Definitely a new mold but I would not be surprised if they toke the original 00 cad file and modified it from there.

the default close position looks too bulky. But it looks way better once you open it up and move it anywhere else. I did the same thing too.

But if you add in the Dash parts and leave everything in the Closed position it does even out the bulky shoulders with the new bulky legs.

The RX78-2 The Origin metal build has been my holy grail for some years now. I have a friend that's going to Japan in march and I'm willing to spend 10.000Y on it (it may sound like wishful thinking but I did see this metal build advertised at this price in the second-hand market).

I've been reading this thread and apparently I made the wrong assumption of thinking that there is no mecha toy more durable than a metal build, because of the joints being diecast. Is this not the case? Any info is appreciated.

I don't get how they're selling the strike freedom wings of light which are essentially pieces of plastic at 7500 yen and the red astray flight pack plus the stand at 5800 yen. So far there has been very little complaint about the WOL
>>
>>5338603
That's Gundam is not a metal build , it's in a different line call metal composite . But it's the only one in that line that has enough diecast in it that even if release under the metal build line , no one will complain . You can just get that in the states for around $135 , it's a really nice rx-78 and would fit in nicely with the metal build line .

Just because the joints are diecast does not mean it's more durable since they will also wear down too .

>>
>>5338759
Well of course you should only get the ones you like , but when I say you would want to buy them all , is due to the fact that if you get them at preorder time , their price is not that bad ,
Strike freedom was 23,999 to 25,000 yen .
The gold frame was 15899 to 18000 yen
Exia advalance was 21,000

It's pretty much , you would rather have regret at buying than regret at not buying and then later want it .
>>
>>5338747
That's actually not to bad.

No, they are not. First because it's more a "red orange" than the yellow one of the RG. Second, it way more cool for a demon gundam that the usual boring "Captain america color" that is trivial as well as uninspired.

I don't mine the orange color on the body at all, but i think they should've kept the backpack/wings coloration the same as the original destiny. I'm not a fan of the gold and orange color spreading to the wings
