I expected grainy, but not sandpaper. I also feel like I'm going to break it because it feels so thin. Also I knew the yellow would be a bit bright, but it almost looks like it was white and then dipped in yellow Easter egg dye.

I believe Shapeways does in fact infuse dye into white material to make the colored plastics.
If you really can't stand the texture, pick up a can of filler primer from an auto parts store. A few coats of that plus some sanding should produce a nice smooth surface. Plus then you could repaint it whatever color you want.

The only thing I can suggest is to set Breakdown and Dragstrip as legs and keep their spoilers folded down, it gives Menasor some height. Otherwise, you can turn the legs around for G1-accuracy, but you'll lose the knees.

I'd like it because then he might have some actual articulation to him. I can tell you right now, if they keep too close to his original toy/design, we're going to be left with a toy that has abso-fucking-lutely useless arms, two legs that can be used for a small amount of positioning and nothing else, and a big tail that might have some articulation, but will most likely be a solid piece and used for some sort of base mode ramp or similar.
tl;dr Hope for a more human-esque design like WFC, so it has a better chance good articulation and poseability VS a fully t-rex body.

Me too. When I started my toy store I even homaged their logos. But let's be honest, it's a lot if things killing toys today. Companies can't meet a release date to save their lives, stores don't carry products, and customers are beyond cheap. It doesn't help that none of these parties sees anything wrong with how they operate. That leaves real collectors to suffer until they tire of carrying more and more dead weight.

Finally opened it after that official image of that Magnus retool and yeah even with all those articulations of the Generations version, it wouldn't have the charm of the G1 version.

It'd be a great toy if they'd stuck with the early Godbomber prototype, which had bigger arms and wings.
But the base robot still looks better than the new version. I hate the giant cab panels hanging off the arms because they couldn't fold them away or something, it looks really crappy just having them hanging off obtrusively like that. The greebled chest is out of place, it looks neither like Hi-Q nor Apex Armor. It's like that Bayformers chest panel on Magnus. The red hands also look kinda poor, so does the cheap light gray trailer, but they're probably sticking to the old Hasbro colors.
It's so odd they threw in so many visual cues to the G1 toy, but then had to fuck it up with greebles and kibble, making it look worse than something from 1988.
Maybe I can hope Tomy does some remolds, like a new chest piece? I know they'll have the silver plastic and blue hands but if they retain my two biggest issues, then not even an import's gonna help. I know I'll be accused of geewuning, I don't care, the new ones got some ugly parts that I think aren't going to make me get rid of my reissue anytime soon. Hell, that's actually got more play value with the smaller robot, but I could live without that if only they didn't add greebles and kibble.

I actually keep him in Super Ginrai mode most of the time. I just took a picture with the full God Ginrai mode just so I got a picture with it. I do wish they did stick with the original God Bomber version rather than this one too to keep its proportions.
Guy asking about Seekers here. How are the Legends Seekers, and how are the FoC Deluxe ones? Any notable problems in any of those? QC issues, etc?
Which of your guys do you think poses the best? For me I think it's a tie between Tracks and Visualizer(Reflector).

I'm thinking of just going Legends. People seem to have good things to say of the Seekers at that scale. Oddly enough, I'm going to be picking up those 2 Insecticons as well.
Unfortunately, this is going to leave a ton of my Decepticons at Legends size. But then again scale was never the strong point of Transformers, but this does mean my Megatron (CW Leader, I love this guy so much) is truly going to tower over every other 'con I've got except Soundwave.

I already mentioned that I can get things extremely cheap cause I know a lot of people that are into the hobby. People in this thread assume just because I hate KO that I love wasting money paying full price. I rarely pay full price on anything and sometimes I do even get them for free. So for me paying $30 for a KO is a joke when if I ask around I could probably get a legit for $20 or even cheaper and paying $50 isn't bad at all and still beats paying full price for a KO even if it's only $30.

We're not talking about ALL KO's here, or even KO's in general, we're discussing very specifically the line of KO MP's that have come out following Lambor and the other carbots. They are all excelent molds, nearly identical, with great paint apps. No, they are not perfect. They do have more QC issues than the MPs. But they are still excellent toys more than worth thier price point.
IF you were able to get the Lamborghini or Datsun molds at retail price when they first came out, sure the difference of thier price versus quality compared to the KO is negligible.
But if you're trying to buy in the aftermaket now... $80-100 for Lambor versus $30 is a hell of lot of difference.

That's a terrible analogy because for $20 more, you can get a dog that won't bite, and even if it does bite, you can probably negotiate an exchange with the seller. Also, you get your dog way sooner.
You're also not even refuting my point. My point is that KOs are not always identical. And it's true. I also never said people shouldn't buy them. It's just up to you if you want to save the money and wait for the KO, and hope that it doesn't have too many issues, or just import the thing from HLJ for a whopping 20 bucks more.
