My target accidentally put out their light up saber yodas yesterday.
Unfortunately they have all been tagged in their system with a do not sell until December 1st tag and wouldn't ring up.
The light up affect is pretty neat. I thought it was just going to be some bullcrap light piping thing, but it's an actual led that lights up with the bases light (they work in store on the monitor base thing)

At least it's not too bad with DI. The crystal stuff has been a breeze to find in ample supply, and the only real bad stuff is the old store exclusive housing for characters like Jack Skellington, unless I'm not looking hard enough. The worst that happens is you just have to wait until after New Years week to pick things up. Target has also been good at keeping their DI stuff in stock, unlike Amiibos.

I actually heard in an interview that it would take too much energy to light up a tron figure entirely. Doing one little light in a part of the figure is one thing, but making sure all the limbs glow along all the right edges doesn't work as well.

Violet's rare? There's tons of listings on eBay for like $2 more than MSRP with free shipping, and Randall is up on Amazon for MSRP. Syndrome is the only one that looks slightly rare, but there's that villain three pack you can buy for $20 that comes with both Randall and Syndrome along with Davey Jones.
From quick store checking, the Symbiote Spiderman looks like the only tough one to get outside of store exclusive since the Vita version seems to be out of stock or not sold anywhere and eBay just has people selling the thing without the figure itself.
Honestly, from what I've seen the only things tough to come by are things like picture related, and only for specific characters. Jack Skellington really seems to be the only difficult one to find out all the ones released that I can see.

game play wise they can be useful. The round ones are power ups, summons, or costumes.
In the toy box it can be fun changing the ground and sky box.
But I say wait till they hit .25 cents again, buy some and have fun with the one you get.
So could someone clear something up for me with 1.0. If I want to get everything the cheapest way, would it be best to go with the Starter Pack, Villain three pack, and the Sidekick pack? I don't really care to play in the Toy Box that much outside of seeing what's there by default, the user-made levels are usually very disappointing from all I've played in 2.0, so I probably wouldn't grab any of the sky or ground changing stuff. Any skins you would recommend for characters? I was only really looking at the Stitch stuff and maybe Jack Skellington and Repunzel out of all of them at the moment. Well right now most place are clearaning out their 1.0 and even 2.0 stuff. So it a good time to start getting them. TRU as sales and clearance sale all the time. Walmart is also starting to clearance out the 1.0 stuff.
I find the the playsets and the character sets usually don't go on sale with the single are on sale.
However, some Walmarts and Meijers have them in the clearance sections at $15 to $20 bucks each. Along with the starter sets. I havent paid full price for any of this stuff except for Loki, Mulan, and Sabain.
You just need to keep an eye out.
Disc wise, if you play the playset missions Round discs can help alot. Stack the right two and you get an extra power up for your character

The game itself is just okay, it's nothing too special but it can be fun. If you want to play the game just grab 2.0 or 3.0 on the PC and do a daily challenge. They give you three free trial characters a week, and you can also play some of the Toy Box tutorials to see if it's the kind of game you'd like.
The figures themselves are pretty great though, I only have Amiibos to compare to, but their smooth and slightly chalky feel is wonderful.

I don't collect Skylanders or Disney Infinity figures, being more of an amiibo man myself, but I felt the need to my find with you guys.
I stopped in a store called Five Below today [spoiler]where everything is between $1 and $5[/spoiler] and found seemingly legit Skylanders figures and, well, somewhat questionable DI figures, all for under $5 each. If consider checking them out if you know where a Five Below is.

And the Disney Infinity figures under suspicion. Only Sully, Mr. Incredible, and Captain Jack Sparrow figures from what I saw, all strangely in individual bags. The packaging claimed that they were real, and there was a lot of printing on the bases as expected. I'd say they're the real deal.
Other than the packaging, the only thing to lead me to believe otherwise was that each Sully figure had a black rubbery substance coating the end of the tail. You can make some of them out in the picture. No idea why they would do that.

I picked up the Wii U and Wii Dark Editions starter bundles a couple of weeks ago and I just beat the Wii U game a few hours ago.
My only complaint is that finding variant figures can be a pain in the ass and that my Dark Turbo Charged Donkey Kong is a bit wonky when it comes to being recognized by the portal.

I feel the opposite; trap team was a good idea in concept, but the way they executed it was piss poor, especially with the way things were locked behind gates or other things.
Superchargers has been much better; while they made it so everything can be found randomly, they also made it so the elemental gates are purely extra stuff.

Yeah, I did like Trap Team but it felt like they really really wanted you to buy each of the traps and do a lot of backtracking for little gain.
Superchargers seems a lot more palatable in that sense. I bought the skeleton and the goat and I don't feel a need to get anything else from the set because I've already got a great army to play through, and the hard mode is actually kind of challenging me.
Any predictions for the remaining DI 3.0 releases?
After the outcry from last year, I'd expect to see Dipper. Bing Bong wouldn't surprise me if they go for a second wave of playset figures like 2.0 got. Kim Possible is basically confirmed, but the question is if she'll be 3.0 or 4.0. If Scarlet Witch isn't the second pack-in for Battlegrounds, the fanbase will revolt. I think they've mined Star Wars for all it's worth, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple more Force Awakens figures post-release.

Man, Brave had such a mood whiplash. One minute it's a comedy, the next it's some dark bear horror, and then it's back to comedy with the dad and his pals, and then Merida is nearly dead because her mom was hungry or because of the other bear. That movie felt all over the place.

Merida is amazing, you can pick out like five different range damage increases in her tree, her main ranged attack causes her arrows to bounce from enemy to enemy in a huge range(Which you can also upgrade how much they bounce), she has a charge attack that can charge in half a second, freezes for two seconds, and explodes as soon as it lands on top of getting boosted by your ranged damage increases(Which usually means two-shotting high ranking enemies on Extreme) and has some decent melee skills if you prefer that route.
Stitch is also pretty cool, the double range jumps are amazing and I take them for granted on the toybox games, and he can charge his shots in an instant on top of spam four shots a second.

I bought the game a few weeks ago and that depends on whether or not you want 100% complete it or if you want to just play through the single player/co-op mode casually. You can do the latter with just a Land vehicle but the former will require all three vehicle types.
There's also the issue what 100% completion means to you, there are some areas that require you to have a vehicle with one of the eight alignments to access, but those areas are just extra challenges that can be skipped.
But I recommend that, if you're buying it used, you get more than one Skylander figure. Just having one means that you'll have to start a level over from the beginning if you end up dying in it.
And since you're a noncollector, you won't have to worry about bullshit like Dark variants, patina finish variants like pic related, and the three different varieties of Hot Streak.
Darth Vader Light FX wasn't there. Oh well. Hopefully it comes soon.

If you need the Zurg power up there's the two pack with McQueen and Buzz to grab, and you already got the Lone Ranger himself which I think is the best out of them all. Grabbed a Villager today while on my Lunch Break at TRU, there's dozens of them because Reprint, but all I care about is the functionality.
For one, he's actually fun to Mirror against, because I actually somewhat know how to play Villager, unlike my Zelda and Olimar, who perfectly Short Hop Heel and pester me with Pikmin from across the stage respectively.
