They're pretty good in my experience so far. All are worth owning, but they're not perfect. I've got UW Superion, UW Menasor, and CW Defensor.

Known problems:
Menasor's the weakest overall in the hips department. He's also kind of top heavy, or he feels like it in my experience, which, combined with the weaker hips, can make posing him a bit of a chore. He might just flop over if you don't balance him out well enough.

Defensor's in the middle. He has some hip problems, but they're not as bad as Menasor. His chest plate though, is his worst feature. It doesn't really stay tabbed in too well. Can be solved by maybe making the tabbing more secure via joint tightening methods like superglue or futureshine, maybe. Or by just holding the chest plate when you move his arms.

Superion is just the most solid. Guys a rock. Not completely perfect, but easily the best.

You'll probably be best off looking for UW Superion if you plan on getting him though, people are scalping the shit out of the CW version's limb bots.

Also, this carries over for any remolds Prime=Motormaster, Cyclonus=Silverbolt, and unless Onslaught has some big changes (he might?), Bruticus=Hot Spot
>>

Thanks, that's all disappointing to hear. Guess I'll pray to takara for better versions and hope that Hasbro doesn't fuck up betatron.
>>
>>5291325
Clarify though. The ratcheting is fixed in the rerelease of motor Master and battle core prime.
>>
>>5291354
>>5291352

Like I said, I have the UW version. Which has the fixed hips. They're still not that great. I mean, it's possible mine isn't perfect, but he's still a good deal floppier than anyone else. His top-heaviness will cause his midsection to flop right over if I try to lean his midsection over too much.

And yeah, Battlecore should have the same hips. Honestly, it's not so bad it'll ruin your day by getting him, just be aware he has issues. I bought them knowing their flaws, and they're still great overall.
>>
>>5291354
>>5291362
Yeah, I guess the hip ratchets was the major weak point but there are PLENTY of either weak points on the motormaster torso, including
>The 2 small friction tabs on the plastic flap locking the legs.
>Swivel waist
>Front-back transformation hinge at the abs.
>Arms locked by 2 small tabs that are unable to latch at all (did they fix this in the newer molds?)

Every single member of the team has been improved. Scavenger and Bonecrusher now have better knees, Hook and Mixmaster have better elbows, Long Haul and Scrapper have actual elbows, there's a new combiner head and individual guns for all the members.

Sadly it's still too big, really hollow and Mixmaster still looks like shit.

>>
>>5291434
Not much bigger and they won't integrate into the trailer's transformation at all.

If you're that hard up to improve on PMOP, get the reissue. It has longer arms with sliding fists.
>>
>>5291467
Are they at least slightly larger in terms of length and bulk? The integration isn't an issue, this will be a kitbash.
>>
>>5291476
The wrists on Ginrai come to where the fists end on PMOP. The fists slide out an extra 3/4". Width is about the same but they're detailed better.

Cyb Prime's arms are probably no bigger excluding the bulky shoulder armor. They may even be smaller for all I know.

The chart isn't accurate, dude. UW Devastator actually costs 200 bucks, which is a worth while preice difference i think.

In fact, the price should be lower given the yen's exchange rate AND the discounts HLJ and amiami give you. HLJ has him for 150 bucks, so go buy him!

Honestly, for repaints/remolds that are so simple like this, they should just hightlight whats changed/new from the previous mold.

Hell, the Scattershot review could've just pointed at the nose and wings and went "Thats it." and then ended by throwing the thing at the wall. Followed by 37 minutes of sobbing.

More like $170. But you also have to factor in shipping. EMS shipping for it is going to be at least 6800jpy given the weight of the us release. Its even cheaper at Amiami but its still not worth it.

I figured it up, and basically if you buy fromh Amiami, and it ships at 6800jpy, you're basically looking at $215usd. May as well buy it from US retailers at that point.

I love him. A lot of the complaints I've heard are from people who probably can't transform a folding chair. Only undeniable problem is his open back area, but it person it really doesn't look bad unless you stare directly down into it. His knee and elbow joints are a little restricted, but not bad by any means. His ankle joints are wonderful. His flight stand makes him infinitely fun to pose.

I think a lot of hate comes from people who just want to bash the new designer's efforts. If we hadn't been told, most people probably wouldn't have guessed.

I've heard a number of weird problems. Some just say he doesn't match the "look" of the rest of the MP cars, but... Tracks was always a different-looking robot. It suits him. If they're talking about how slender he is, that really suits him, too, especially given the proportions of the Corvette C3.

The rest of the complaints are usually people citing something extremely minor as though it completely ruins what is, otherwise, the best portrayal of Tracks that I've ever seen.

>>5292261
Highly ostentatious. Love it.
Also, in that video, what the hell is he talking about with the backpack not being able to look like the box? Does he not understand it has to do with the angle of the photograph and Tracks' torso, and not the positioning of the backpack itself? And at the end he just prattles on about how he doesn't think any of the joints are going to "hold up" over the years? As far as MPs go, Tracks has some of the tightest joints ever. Some of mine are even too tight.

Is there anything I can try to do to force myself to like the movie aesthetic? Because I should have already accepted it by now that Bayformers IS Transformers and no other part of the franchise actually matters. Bayformers is the biggest part of the franchise and hs been the entire core of it for a while.

G1 and Beast Wars only lasted 3 years each. Meanwhile, there's plans to keep doing the movies for a whole other decade. Everything before is just a relic of the past and their its legacy dwarfed by Bayformers. They're basically retroactively spin offs now.

Everything else in the meantime is just spin offs, accessory tot he movies, often borrowing stylistically form them. Even though I like Prime (despite Beast Hunters having some of the ugliest toys/designs I've ever seen in my life) and RiD 2015 and thus can tell myself I'm not a curmudgeon stuck in the past, I really can't adapt or accept the reality

I feel old and disposable.

So yeah, is there a certain mindset I can put myself in so I can like the movie designs and the movie toys? Or hell, just the movies in general? I keep falling asleep whenever I try to watch them.

>So yeah, is there a certain mindset I can put myself in so I can like the movie designs and the movie toys? Or hell, just the movies in general?

Do yourself a favor and just ignore it if you don't like it. I know I do. The movies have all the appeal of a wet shart, though some of the cartoons aren't so bad.

The Bayformers look like walking shitpiles of over designed trash. I honestly can't believe it was even called Transformers, because beyond the names, it has nothing to do with anything Transformers.

The Prime/RiD stuff has the creepy, flat, noseless faces that for some reason they like using, and spindly limb design or sharp, stylized designs. What they fail to realize is while that looks OK in cartoons, it looks like shit on an actual toy.

Stick to Generations and IDW stuff. Thats what people who like the older designs get.

The G1 mold is actually one of the better G1 Autobots out there. Held up really well. I liked the RTS mold as Wheeljack, but never cared for Tracks.

>>5292397
Only a fucking transfag would legitimately ask if there was a way they could force themselves to like something. Holy fucking shit, man.
>Bayformers is the biggest part of the franchise and has been the entire core of it for a while.
So? That doesn't mean the other parts don't exist.. Unless there is a current movie, 90% of the toy output is generations stuff. G1 is getting some of the best toys ever through the MP Line. The RiD show is continuing the Prime universe, and the comics, love 'em or hate 'em, are trudging along with some of the most varied and interesting G1-based stories ever seen. But you feel that just because something financially makes up most of the franchise, you need to force yourself to like it? Jesus.

I have never said this and meant it more than I do now: You are a fucking autistic retard.

Seems like you have a hard time because you like to invest in the media tie-ins. Not that it's wrong. It's just difficult for a TF collector because the media tie-ins are often shitty. Even the G1 cartoon wasn't that good to begin with.

I find myself largely ignoring the >>>/co/ stuff and just enjoy the toys for what they are. Undoubtedly there's still plenty of shitty toys but there's also a good balance of creative designs out there.
>>
>>5292410
RID is pretty much ending after season 2 and the movie. It looks like it's pretty much a stopgap while they reorganize and plan for a new TF series.
>>
>>5292425
I really wish they would get their heads out of their asses and figure out that we don't need 3 or 4 lines of toys on shelves at once. My local stores still have movie 4, so with CW, RID, and playskool shit it's a bit much. The new show doesn't need to be a movie prequel, it needs to tie into the fucking mainline of toys, and all the toys on the shelf need to be compatible. The Rescue Bots shit needs to be more like those South American simple formers, the ones that lacked knees, but should look perfectly fine displayed with my generations or whatever the main series is. What's up with 1step and 3step changer shit, are these made because big box retailers (WalMart) force Hasbro to make them despite that shit never really selling ever and always going on super clearance? Stop making that shit, make better looking baby's first transformers playskool shit, stop giving the cartoon characters such dumb faces so they work with generations, fix the look of the next movie so that it fits in with generations as well. I would be so fucking broke.
>>
>>5292440
This has more to do with Brian Goldner's leadership and moving Hasbro towards dealing in entertainment properties and less in toy design and manufacturing.

Absolutely mediocre. He feels unfinished and cheap. People saying he's good are in pure denial. They probably don't have a lot of money so they refuse to admit they made a bad decision by buying him. Go take a look at some TF boards, you'll notice that 90% of the pro Tracks are the usual shills.

Yeah. That's a real fucking kick in the nuts. I like how Hasbro is consistently not giving us proper versions and we have to pay significantly more to get them. What kind of message does this send to them? That they could charge us more money just for doing their job properly. If those were domestic products they'd be significantly cheaper, but if they were "collector" figures. Just as long as they don't get stupid about what a "collector" figure is, like they did with those Hasbro Toyshop Universe Collector's Edition figures. Plus if it were remolds, they would have been planned into the budget from the beginning, so charging more would be just because they could.

I was going to say there wasn't enough difference in quality between RID and CW, but it's just that CW is so mediocre that the gradient between CW-RID-RescueBots is so small.

I agree with the 1-3-step changers. Old Go-Go-Gobots were pretty fucking awesome for both kids and adults.

but I don't think Hasbro's so much making a mistake as a planned move to sell garbage. The cynic in me thinks investors are just trying to squeeze the last drops of money from a sinking ship instead of trying to prolong the profits at a lower rate that's not always increasing. I hope I'm wrong, but Hasbro is big. I even saw a comment including them in a hollywood conspiracy theory involving Disney, and while I didn't put enough stock in it at the time, it does add to the feeling that Hasbro's just another typical business that just happens to have good PR, and a kind of golden age of products there for us for a while.

Omega is going to win. If it were just Trypticon or Scorponok going against him, they might have a chance, but Omega is too iconic, splitting the vote between two others is going to give him the win. I'm still voting for Trypticon though.

You and me both. Goddamn, I want a good Trypticon. Not to mention we've had a passable version of Omega made recently in the Year of the Snake 2013 edition, Scorponok's had presence in multiple series, but Trypticon's always the last one to get anything.

He has Minimus Ambus piloting his chest. That's pretty gimmicky. Isn't that Brainmasters or something?

>Omega is going to win
Dont know about that my man. Word searching Omega on the comments gives me 68 results, while Trypticon gives me more than a 100 results.

I really hope Trypticon wins!
