Someone got a opinion about the Zone of the Enders Revos? I'm in a doubt between them or the Koto kits.
>>
>>5280521
I personally had bad luck with my Vic Viper, but I think it might have just been bad QC. Either way there was some breakage. Cool figure though.
>>
>>5280521
+ Pretty cheap
+ Nicely poseable
+ Very dynamic looking in action poses
+ Biggest selection of orbital frames in any toyline to date--if you want a lineup, Revos are the way to go

- Sculpting is slightly mushy, just SLIGHTLY mind you, compared to stuff like the Koto kits or Riobot
- Ratchet joints blablablah, you'll either love or hate em. I found the ones on the ZOE Revos to be pretty nicely workable though, and the knees on Jehuty are normal hinge joints which is nice.

? - Glossy metallic paint. You might love it or hate it, but it seems like most companies do gloss paintjobs on their Orbital Frames, so I guess...that's canon? I always imagined OFs as matte, but I guess I was wrong. Koto's kits are like, your one chance AFAIK to own a matte Jehuty.

>>
I wonder what Yamaguchi is working on these days. He's done with Ultron, Sneaking Suit Snake and the Rilakkumas. With his usual schedule he would have made like 4 more figures by now.

I had a theory based on what Kaiyodo President said on their live stream, that there's going to be a RevolMini Sanada Yukimura (because Horse and TV drama), so could actually be that.

Or we get another surprise reveal of a big scale, super detailed Yamaguchi Revo/Vulcanlog in a few months?
>>
>>5284882

>>

Oh yeah I forgot about the next and final Evangelion movie that suppose to come out...soon?
I'm sure Kaiyodo wont stop making more new Eva Revoltechs, assuming there are new ones in the movie.

That could be it, and thus have to be secretive about it

We got info on the skeleton capsule figure.

Fight! Dokuroman (=skullman)

It has 2 series, one for body, the other for weapons.

Body is 400yen each, weapon is 300 yen each

March release.

The "Body" line, each has the skeleton, one head gear, and a base.

>>
Is there any way to get a revoltech raiden for under thirty bucks? Or ultron?
>>
>>5295943
Maybe for Infinity War? Kaiyodo is not big on making tons of action figures right now...
>>
>>5295976
Raiden's up on Mandarake right now for 3500 yen (~28 USD), snag him while you can. Ultron's not even out yet lol
>>
>>5295976
Ultron is coming out now when figure prices are up, so unless it doesn't sell at all, I don't see 50 bucks figure dropping that much any time soon.

Raiden, sure it was like 35 bucks originally anyways. HLJ has white one for 30 USD
>>
>>5295992
Oh Ultron on HLJ is 40 USD. I'm not use to doing JPY USD conversion in my head.
>>
>>5295984
Yeah, sucks cause they're my favorite import line. Would've loved to see what they'd do with Hulk, Cap, and Thor.
>>
Which Iron Man is the best?
>>
>>5296003
well you don't have to since hlj does the conversion on their site...
>>
>>5296107
SH Figuarts.

Only Kaiyodo Iron Man still worth getting is Mk I, and Bandai already have their own in the pipeline.
>>
>>5296401
Those are quite difficult to find at a good price though, and I figured the range of motion would be better on Revos.
>>
>>5296107
>>5296401
I still think 5 and 7 for Revo are really great and worth getting.

>>5296527
Not necessarily. Sci-Fi Revos are not done by Yamaguchi (except Star Wars Revo where he did the articulation part). The hip joint for the SHF Iron Man series has more range of motion.

Anyways all 3 Iron Man Revos mentioned got Legacy release so I assume they are still easy to get?

So i made my first purchase on mandarake and I got the revoltech jason vorhess. The figure was listed as dirty but complete with a dent in the box for 28 bucks. What can i expect?
>>
They're known for underpromising and overdelivering. I don't think I've ever gotten anything from them that was even visibly used, you'll be fine.
>>
>>5294871
Are they selling these little gems in Capsules?

Either way, at that price, I'm gonna pick up 5.
>>
>>5299798
Probably nothing as bad as you imagine. The Japanese exaggerate the conditions of the box, so a used item could be as simple as someone breathed on it.
>>
>>5278288
Slightly off-topic, but Takura-Tomy are doing the toys for the new series. They're pretty nice, but not as good as the Revos.
>>
>>5295943
>>5295984
>>5296087
They're probably afraid of investing too much into Avengers stuff with the SHF line in full swing. Ultron is testing the waters.
>>
Just got the Revoltech T-Rex, I knew it was gonna be small but damn is it tiny.
>>
>>5300863
Also, Yamaguchi's one guy, I don't think he has the time/ability to get an entire team done before the NEXT avengers movie comes out. Hell, bandai almost certainly has a bigger team working on figuarts and there was still a noticeable quality drop for the AOU stuff. Yamaguchi is pretty good at making robots, I'm cool with him staying in his lane.

>>
Legacy of Revoltech EVA-01 is up on Amiami.
>>
>>5300888
>I don't think he has the time/ability to get an entire team done before the NEXT avengers movie comes out.

He was throwing out like 2~3 figures a month at the peak period of the Revoltech line. I'm sure there were like 1 or 2 figures he made half way through each time that didn't pass the approval of his boss. Because I think he just makes something first and show that as his project plan...

Granted there are more details to work on but compare to how much he use to do he can certainly do it. At this point I'm really curious what he's doing these days. He finished everything that was announced. I'm guessing next Eva movie stuff.
>>
>>5301376
Good thing I got the regular re-release last year so I don't have to pay 1000 more yen for the same product.

I guess the name and design is a play on words, "pochi" being the sound of pressing a button, and also a generic name for a dog.

yeah, they are riding the Danboard train with this character. But it's Amazon so they kinda need to use their box somehow.

Apps and phone games have all the money these days (like half the commercials on TV in Japan are those now) so we might see more stuff from those, just because they have the money to slap Kaiyodo's face with. Maybe that's more for the capsule figures though.

anons, i have a question regarding those joint packs that are being sold in ebay (the ones of 20, 50 75 and 100 pieces), are those ones factory rejects right? are they of similar quality of the revo joints that come in the figures?
i picked up a bootleg stormtrooper time ago to see how awful/decent can be. as expected the joints are awful, fragile and some of them are stuck (i even hamhanded one of the elbow joints, and it looks like one of the shoulders is next), the wrists, hips and the neck joints are the only good ones.
i want to replace the shittiest ones with some of the joints from those packs, and at the same time i want to stockpile some of these for future shenanigans, (repairing, customizing, maybe picking a shitty statue and adding joints)
thanks in advance

>still no Goshogun news

Should I be scared? At least the Felynes look legit
>>
>>5310099
I know mainline revo and vulcanlog are seperate, but I'd love a heavy bowgun hunter that could hold the bullets and load them like yamaguchi's Getter Go revoltech can.
>>
>>5311956
I'm sure it's fine. I think the old poster said that Seraph of the End was going to be the first VulcanLog, so they are still messing with the order of release. Although I'm guessing the MH stuff and Venom Snake at that point was still going to be Revoltechs but they moved them into Union Creative's line. I'll be more worried with ones that are still just panels.

And Goshogun is nothing compared to how long it's taking for the new Jarknoid

What causes this issue in the Mark 7 in pic related? The weird discoloration of the abs and wrist guards.
>>
>>5312209
They're soft plastic and it might be from fluorescent light bulbs. Mine has the same issue on the abs and ONE of the hand guards that was in the light the most. I've had it boxed since then.
>>
>>5312209
>>5312213
It's a common issue with metallic red paint. I forget the science behind it, whether it was UV or just the air, but it's pretty much unavoidable if the paint mix was not done right.

Did they fucking reboot this shit again? The Revoltech brand is fucking all over the place these days.
>>
>>5313435
maybe it's because it's the thunder birds series?
>>
>>5313465
Well the full title listed on Kaiyodo's site is Revoltech RR-001 Thunderbird #2 Renewal Edition. There's no mention of a Thunderbirds series, and they were part of Sci-fi Revoltech before. The only thing I can think of to explain the "RR" would be a Revoltech Renewal series.Maybe the Legacy series has been selling enough that they figure they can remake old figures instead of just re-releasing them. That would also explain why the Legacy series has all but stopped recently.
>>
>>5312872
The best way to prevent it is not living in a sweaty armpit country or state.
And if you do live in a sweaty armpit, time to invest in a dehumidifier and air conditioning.

If you live in a desert and have proper insulation, you can probably make do just by keeping your collection on an inside wall or a wall whose opposite side outside doesn't face the sun. Of course, the dryness of the desert will mean it'll be less likely to happen... at least, not in 10-20 years. Everything will rot and show signs of degradation eventually.

Personally, the only time metallic red paints have fucked up like that on any of my toys was because i wrapped them in foam. DUMB DUMB DUMB. So just a warning to anyone who wants to protect fragile things and should seek safer materials (paper is probably best)

I have the original one I left in Japan. It turned pink just like the photo, since you know, humidity is high. I have the Legacy here in Canada and it's just fine. I also have an older Mark 7 here too, has the old Revo joints. I'm not sure if there was a reissue or I got the original again because the Japanese one turned pink. That older one is fine as well so yeah looks like environment is the key factor if they haven't done something cleaver to the paint.

Also if you are interested, The Revol Mini Mark 6 Iron Man would not have this issue at all because it uses the plastic's red colour with a clear coat to give it that shine. It's pretty nice looking, and a fun figure to have, if you don't mind the smaller size.

I also hear the Legacy Mark 6 did the same thing and not use metallic red paint, but I don't know if it looked good or not. I didn't get it because I hate the sculpt for that one.

They are slightly different from the old Sci-Fi release. TB2 comes with more tiny vehicles to put in its cargo hold, and The Mole has an alternate...something....that makes it the early version..? very hardcore fan service stuff I guess.

Because they added extra things, they can't be a re-issue, and also they don't want to call it Legacy for the same reason, so they come up with a new name I suppose.

Legacy is still a thing with EVA-01 just going up. I think they just dropped the pacing a little.

TB2 has new vehicles and different numbered door for the container, Mole is the early version with different numbering and back design.
TB2 has a lighter green paint, and the Mole has no weathering on it.

You should know that, they are clear from the photos, so yeah don't bother coming here just do your own research since you obviously don't like and don't know how to communicate to people properly.

So the interesting note for Revoltech fans, is that I think this is the very first one we see with that new special Revolver joint. The one that has a ball end instead of a peg on one side, like the joints in the Minis. They are used for the hip joints.
>>
>>5315470
well they already made 2 minis so making more isn't too farfetched.
>>
>>5315487
That's interesting. I've always had a love/hate relationship with how they do hips, but just having ratchets was always a plus in my opinion. I know some people don't like them, but they'll hold some insane poses rock solid if you use the foot peg stand, and I donno how I feel about using a balljoint instead.
>>
>>5315498
Just to clarify, they do still ratchet (I assume), it is a Revolver joint, just has an extra ball joint end connecting to the thighs. So it is a ratchet AND a ball joint, not instead of.
>>
>>5315510
Oh yeah, I understand. A balljoint on the end of a ratchet is still weaker than just a straight up revolver joint though, I've got a bunch of regular revoltechs and I've never had one go loose. On the other hand though, mini snake's hips got worn out pretty quick.
>>
>>5315519
If the receiving PVC side is the concern/problem, you can always heat it up to expand or squeeze to tighten the hold of the joint piece.

Anyways, who knows till we have Ultron in hand.
>>
>>5315498
I feel the ball joint will make it a lot easier to turn and position the legs in ways that make the figure more dynamic or balanced in poses. I always found the hip joint the most annoying part of any Revo figure. Sometimes the awkward angles for the peg make getting the legs into certain angles quite restrictive.
>>
>>5315545
I think they were very versatile and easy to work with. You just need to have the joints or the thighs twisted to the right position. And being surrounded with soft material makes it easy to get that extra range of motion.

I think they went with the ball joint end with this one because the design didn't allow for much soft plastic coverings to hide the joints, so he went with a deeper positioned joint and added articulation with the ball joint. Plus he couldn't go back to the old ways after making the Minis I guess.

FYI Sneaking Suit Snake will be like that too.
>>
>>5315575
I'm really excited to see how Venom's set up, that joint is so well hidden in those photos

I own both the figma and the revoltech. They're both pretty eh, but I prefer the figma over it.

The Revo's art and detailing is a weird musculature that shifts as you pose it, which is cool I suppose but it also feels like you're posing a jigsaw puzzle.

I prefer the figma over it merely because of it's simplicity compared to the click-fest that the horse is.

If you want a variety of horses to use for your figures then pick it up, but only after you give the figma a try first, I'll probably be selling or storing my revo horse.

A figure that is a bit smaller than Kamen Rider SHF looks to be the sweet spot for the size, but you can think of the horse being different breeds.

Too bad there will probably never be another good Eva Revoltech release because 4.0 is gonna be a clusterfuck beyond compare if it ever even comes out.

I'll get some shitty photos of my display later.
