This is on sale at Target at $45, and if you spend $50 in toys you get an extra $10 off. From the information I gathered, the paint job on this one is better than the regular release.

The turtles themselves use the exact same buck as the battle shell, but there's no way you can open the shell unless you unscrew the belts and remove the armor. Also Leo and Donnie without their armor have little plastic bits plugging up gaps.

After owning the 2012 basics and Battle Shell, Is it worth it?

That shiny fugitioid is kinda sexy though...

Well that was fast. Mondo Gecko sold out earlier too. There's still Mozar in stock. Funny he has a pic of Zog instead. Zog doesn't even have a release date.
>>
>>5242541

Oh shit, didn't now they were doing the triceratons already! I'll definitely be buying those...and Mondo...and the David Tennant robot. YAY!
>>
>>5242541
Yeah I noticed that. I'm definitely getting Mondo when I find him. They also had Karai sold out.

I found my old mondo. I know good and well he won't be as detailed as the old one, but I'm excited because I love the new version of him.

My biggest complaint with the newest wave is that the triceratons don't have weapons.
>>
You know what's nice about the main tmnt figure line? They're just toys. They're simple and decently priced.

I've been so used to Japanese imports and gunpla that I've taken basic fun for granted.

I'm glad the show is so popular to get us these.

"I'm Professor Honeycutt, Fugitoid."

Too bad the ship they're planning to release is just a one person vehicle with a weird repaint of Space Mikey sans armor.

Also, even though I expected it, the lack of paint on the space turtle's weapons suck. I wanted that back of packaging white and red/orange/purple/blue.

Are we getting Panda Kahn?

Not sure since he is owned by someone else. Same thing applies towards Usagi

Next season, the turtles and Honeycutt fight the triceratrons and Lord Dregg. They also encounter various aliens based off of old random characters from the 90s like Mona Lisa (now the same species as Newtralizer) and Armaggon.

Wonder why 2007 movie Leo was omitted, we have Fast Forward though...
>>
>>5243055
Don't forget Wyrm. Also even though I'm not a big doctor who fan anymore I can appreciate David Tennant as fugitoid. It fits.

>>5243093
Weird part is that they have Next Mutation instead of the 07 movie (which was actually pretty good) also why 2 of the same 2003 toon version? I get one is fast forward, but it's not like the show wasnt part of the 2003 one.

Also I need a mikey set.

>>
>>5242602

>>
I just buy tmnt figures I like or actually look decent. The basic and battle shell turtles offer a lot at the price point, Both have the most articulation and accessories.

Fugitoid is actually a step up from his past releases even if the only major thing they did was gave him and shoulder hinges. It's unfortunate they didn't give him an accessory of some sort.
>>
>>5240197
Not really been into Turtles so much for this series, but this Fugitoid character has me interested. How many episodes are out at the moment? Is it worth watching the whole show so far or just the ones with the character in particular?
>>
>>5244500
Season 4 just started, but fugitoid didn't show up until the last minute or so of the season 3 finale.

The whole show is worth watching. Though when they're out at April's cabin it kind of drags.

Check it out.
>>
>>5244505
>>5244500
Also if you appreciate nice references you'll be in to it. They've referenced every incarnation of the turtles (including next mutation and the 2014 movie) also things outside of the franchise like ghostbusters, Big trouble in little china, The Thing, Kamen Rider, etc.
>>
>>5244529
>>5244505
Oh sweet, yeah I watched a couple episodes before like the ones with Casey and Metalhead but I never watched anymore. So these figures of the fujitoid character/space turtles are out from an episode that hasn't been shown yet?
>>
>>5244729
Yep. Fugitoid isn't out in his carded form, but the turtles, dregg, and mozar are out.

I've only seen the turtles at target and the other two at Wal-Mart.
>>
>>5244743
Oh but it seems some people on Ebay have the carded figure, I guess they were just the lucky few that got it from wherever. I'll look into the show though.
>>
>>5244795
Yeah you'll see that. It'll be in stores soon.
>>
>>5244743
Wal-Mart had it in stock online briefly, just keep an eye out. The hard thing about TMNT figures is almost everything is packed one per case and so many turtle figures thrown in assortments. To make matters harder some stores have too many mutations mix and match figures eating up space as well.
>>
>>5245764
I wish the mutations like wasn't the majority of the action figures. If they had knee and elbow articulation it would be different because some of them look better in that form.

"My very own clone!"

>>5245989
The only good thing I can say about mix and match mutations is you can figures of certain off scale characters taller. So Slash, Rocksteady, Bebop, and maybe Rahzar and Dogpound benefit from this. They all had pretty iffy articulation to begin with. Wish they did Leatherhead and Newtralizer too for the heck of it.

But yeah Hero Mashers and the Mix Match Power Rangers figures cost about the same, gives you knee and elbow articulation and are bigger, so not sure what Playmates was thinking when they made this sub line.

Honestly, this thing looks like what 90% of my first semester Maya students make for their robot project. If the designer took more than 30 minutes to whip that up, they should feel ashamed.

When we go through UV mapping, the first semester students struggle because it can be a difficult process with lots of aspects that they can flub over. So... no, it's a completely different type of thing.

i have a few thoughts on that:

-2k7 series toys were much taller than any of these, it would have stood out heavily in the lineup (and caused packaging to be even larger)

-popularity (collector wise) - movie star leo is fairly expensive and part of the original toyline technically, same as 2k3 + FF. Though I think the 2k7 movie basic figures are fairly expensive as well

anyway, huge tmnt fan/collector here, I'm actually kind of happy to say I'm skipping on this thing. I will always have an urge to get it because I want a complete collection one day, but I already own everything in this package except the new movie figure (I have completely ignored all new movie merch)

i dont have the space, and the money saved is welcome for other things, so...eh

It's not dumb to think that. The pic clearly shows that Playmates has done it before. With half of the set's figures available separately, there's no need to have them all jointed.

It might even be cheaper to produce the figures as single, immobile pieces.

So i'm slowly collecting the new line of turtles to replace my old, fairly beaten up 2003 set. I have a few questions if someone wouldnt mind helping me out here.
1. I read on amazon that there are releases in this line that have better paint jobs than others, like Casey Jones with a brown painted bat rather than white. Is this true, and if so where can I find them?
2. Is the Leatherhead a statue or is is more posable than its package made it seem?
3. Is Slash rare and in scale to the other figures? I haven't seen one yet.
4. Are there figures that work better as the Mutation brand than the standard counterpart?
5. Are there any toys with huge qc issues that I should avoid?
Thanks alot to anyone who helps me learn here.
>>
>>5260596
1. Never heard that before
2. Not a statue but it's very basic
3. He may be hard to find now, but he's cool. Not to scale.
4. Probably the bigger ones like tiger claw and such because they're larger figures
5. The battle shell turtles have some issues with lower legs being given to the wrong turtle. My Raph had two left biceps but I was able to fix it.
>>
>>5260697
Hey thanks anon, cleared alot up for me
>>
>>5260596
1. nope just white
2. very basic articulation no elbow or knee joints.
3. Slash is floating around where I am, consider the Mutations one instead if you want better scaling and don't mind katoki proportions.
4. Slash, Tigerclaw, Rocksteady, and Bebop
5. nothing too rampant I'm aware of, but playmates has multiple factories so parts swapping the two figures of the same character may not work
>>
I originally thought about leaving my white 2012 Fugitoid figure at work, but he's just so damn fun and charming I've been just taking him home and back the past week.
