How did death work in the Bionicle universe? All this talk about dark hunters had me looking into them more and it one of the wikis stated that every dark hunter has a story of killing a toa. Do they die or just get transported to another place and repaired like the motoran?

Depends on the manner of death. If they died within the Mata Nui robot, and their brain was not damaged, they get transported to the Red Star and repaired. They don't get sent back though because Gaardus broke the RS' teleportation system or something

I can only speak anecdotally, but when I worked at Toys R Us back then we always had mask packs that we had to clearance to get rid of and every year the supplemental packs(kraana, launcher orbs, weapons, etc) sold worse and worse.

I thought so based on similar anecdotes. My guess is that compared to the minifig blind bags, you can't really do much with the masks unless you had a Toa/Turaga/etc. compared to a minifig which you can enjoy playing with independently of LEGO sets.

The dark blue Ruru is still one of the sexiest masks around. Getting the dark red Huna for a third time was a real disappointment though, literally any other mask would have been better.

Metru brown is just a diluted Mata brown that looks like the pieces were left out in the sun too long and faded. At least burnt orange is vibrant.
Also, Lewa uses Green Lantern green instead of Mata green, and Gali uses dark azure instead of Mata blue. The Toa just have more vibrant colors this time around.
