So, me and my friends were kind of curious, if you wanted to play a game where you were building a town, making your own homesteads and such, developing the land, gentrification, etc., but still adventuring, what system would you use? What kind of systems have rules for investing in/owning businesses, giving income? What kind of systems have homestead rules? Even if there are systems like that, are there good ones?

When it comes to managing a domain I'd probably use Adventurer, Conqueror, King, or Labyrinth Lord with the An Echo, Resounding splat. They're meant for running kingdoms, but you could scale down.

Built for 3.5 I think but it can be used for most other editions with minor changes.

I was hoping for a system in itself. D&D doesn't really work for a idea wherein most characters have an actual profession.
