United Resistance deals 3 damage to target opponent.

this card is actually pretty sweet
idgaf about the spider, although it would be pretty good in limited

git rekt fagit
Hi I'm fucking Mark Rosewater
We care about our limited enviornment a lot when it comes to prerelease experience, and we want to make sure everyone is having a good time.
So enjoy the fucking mythics we shit out on a daily basis like >>48106243, which could easily be a common and nobody would know the difference outside the addition of a few keywords.
Holy fuck kill me if this is literally what Maro said we "wanted" I'm gonna shoot a man with four of >>48106256 mainboarded.
>>48106243
I like this, but as a Legendary? At Mythic? That's absurd. It should be a non-legendary rare.
>>48106243
excuse me more relevant in limited spider coming through
>>48106287
>which could easily be a common
No it couldn't. I mean, it isn't mythic worthy, but there is no need to exaggerate.
>>48106287
>Hi I'm fucking Mark Rosewater
Right now?
>>48106308
If it wasn't legendary, I could see it being one of those overcosted bulk uncommons.
>>48106243
if the delirium ability scaled at all, like if it were a spider spawning, it might have been good.
>>48106308
Considering the somewhat overcosted ability that relies on something that could be so easily be negated through non-blue means I can easily say without a doubt this is a fringe common card, if not uncommon.
Nothing about this design feels "mythic" or even rare. It just feels like something they slapped a mythic tag on to add reach and a legendary tag to give it a namesake that holds some lore relevance.
>>48106243
m-mom? where's dad?
>>48106316
I can agree with that. But saying it's a common is pushing it.
>>48106243
Why does he have such a small body?
Why only 3 fucking 1/2?
Why the hell does that ability cost so much?
>>48106409
Because the card won't warp standard if it's bad
This set is pretty shit.
predicting only gisela, the new counterspell, and the 1 time use birthing pod will see any play
>>48106243
Bleurgh, pass.
>>48106434
I feel like a lot of this set is really good. It's just we've had the handful of cards that are absolute trash, especially two at mythic rarity.
>>48106444
the only card I want is Ulrich for EDH along with a few of the commons/uncommons.
>>48106243
I'm convinced Wizards just hates Spiders and finds every opportunity to make terrible Spider cards.
>>48106512
Spiders have always been the "fuck flying" commons of sets for limited. They've never been anything more.
Literally anyone who asked for a legendary spider is a meme-loving fuck.
>>48106243
Yes! Finally I can have a Commander spider tribal deck.
>>48106627
>>48106641
Now kiss
>>48106243
I'd take a reprint of silklash rather than this shit
>>48106243
Man first Ulrich now this, Wizards can't design a sought after legendary worth shit.
I genuinely feel bad for the spiderbros, at least werewolves CAN be fun when they have their rare Christmas land play. Your creature type is doomed to be a meme deck.
>>48106243
Delirium should give you a spider for each creature in your yard at least and the 6B thing should make every opponent lose life instead of lol target player nonsense but I guess I expect too much from our shekelord.
>>48106434
gisela, eldritch evolution, decimator of the provinces, possible providence for the chance of a turn 2 serra ascendant online in modern, bant doubling season/superfriends might play tamiyo in modern, emrakul's evangel looks like a finisher for token decks, emrakul could see play in tron, and so on
The set overall is better than average, especially for a small sized set, it's just it's either you pull a super good $30 card, or a 50¢ mythic.
>>48106627
>>48106641
>>48106709
>>48106243
>>48106731
Just have the damn spider give your opponents' creatures flying and some ability that works against flying creatures. It's not hard for fuck's sake.
>>48106709
>Wizards can't design a sought after legendary worth shit
Avacyn?
>>48106709
Ulrich should have been something else, but is at the very least perfectly playable. By all means, he should be interacting with transform itself as a mechanic, but having two decent abilities on both sides is reminiscent of huntmaster of the fells.
This is literally just an uncommon they slapped the legendary tag on, gave a fancy name, and made mythic.
>>48106256
This is fucking excellent.
>>48106327
Rarity isn't just about power levels; it's also about complexity and use. I can see the argument for uncommon, but it's probably too niche for common. Plus, not every mythic has to be or should be amazing. Not every card is specifically for you.
>>48106752
I didn't realize Avacyn was a creature that hasn't been represented and been clamored for by fans to be given a card.
Oh wait, she's a central character to innistrad and wasn't sought after because everyone knew she was coming anyway.
>>48106812
What do you even mean by "sought after"?
Two BG legends in the same block. Disappointing.
>>48106820
In the same way the legendary werewolf and legendary spider are sought after.
They didn't exist and people kept asking and asking for it.
>>48106793
It's 5 mana for a conditional army of 3 when fucking Cloudgoat Ranger exists and does it with no fuss and the spider damage thing is underpowered as fuck for casual nonsense and hurts EDH appeal. The spiders should have had deathtouch at least to be worth it.
>>48106837
At least Gitrog is good for something.
>>48106846
Rather than deathtouch I'd rather it be able to make more fucking spiders after the potential etb so that the other ability could actually be used to kill someone.
>>48106742
Overall I think that SoI was a far better set on average.
Speaking as a primarily EDH player, Avacyn, Nahiri, Jace, Sorin, Arlinn, the uncommon werewolves especially Duskwatch, Westvale, descend upon the sinful, relentless dead, ulvenwald hydra, seasons past, declaration in stone, traverse the ulvenwald, engulf the shore, tireless tracker, gitgud frog, tamiyo's journal, etc
the list goes on and on
>legendary spider
>soft body
>irrelevant ability
>don't even have death touch
Why?
How to fix this shit so it's at least edh playable.
>have it spawn spider tokens on etb based on the amount of card types in your grave
>make it spawn a spider token each upkeep if you have delirium
>make it a spider lord for deathtouch
>make the second ability spawn another spider token after use
>>48106793
Reach is common, Delirium is at common, and activated abilities like seen are at common.
While definitely not the norm, commons with three abilities do exist as recent as BfZ.
It's not strong, it's not flashy, it's not interesting, and it's not as complex as some uncommons. There is exactly zero (0) reason for this to be at mythic.
>>48106899
Wizards treats lords like Nintendo treats Mario party. They won't give us a traditional lord, even if that's what we want.
>>48106879
Doesn't do much outside of being a meme commmander
>>48106243
>7 mana abilty
>SEVEN MANA FOR 4 DAMAGE
You can see they wanted to do some kind of deathtouch thing (that's what spiders are all about, like drain based on numbers ? That's never happened on a spider)but if they did this would be a cheap answer to emrakul and avacyn in this set. Also if the 3 spider bodies had deathtouch this card would be comparable to the powerlevelin of hornet Queen but much cheaper (so it'd be busted strong)
So in all they decided to make it a shit mythic instead of a cool, flavourful legendary mythic Lord
>all these shit cards
Is this set even worth buying a box for anymore?
This set reminds me of Born of the Gods
>>48106984
It's never been worth it senpai.

>>48106963

>avacyn and emrakul get cucked by tamiyo

>>48107009

>>48107003
Hyperbole much.
Mythics are fine if they're terrible (WHO WOULD WANT A FUCKING CHASE MYTHIC, HOLY SHIT, ARE YOU NIGGAS RETARDED OR WHAT?), though that legend should really not be a mythic, because the design is boring as fuck.
A card like Providence fits more the mythic thing, because it's big, bomby, and has an interesting design that makes you want to break it (even if it's actually shit).
>>48107022
but you're not getting the vendor discount

>>48107029
We need chase mythics to sell packs. That's why stuff like Gisela who is uncommon level complexity outside of meld gets pushed to mythic
>>48107029
No, providence is a rare teir card.
Wizards actual design logic (unless you look at what the actual truth is (how many packs can we sell)) is mythics are more complex than a rare.
Eg: persistent nightmare. It interacts with the graveyard, is both a creature or a sorcery, with an activated ability on one side. There's a lot to that card.
Emrakul could be considered mythic, because mind slaver effects have insane amounts of rulings to them.
The werewolf or this spider could have been rare
what time does the wizads website update? i want my spoilers so i can go to bed.
>>48107049
>So whats supposed to be good?
Any card? Since I'm a poorfag, I would say common, but you know, whatever.
>>48107072
>Wizards actual design logic (unless you look at what the actual truth is (how many packs can we sell)) is mythics are more complex than a rare.
No, what they've said is that mythics are cards with interesting design, cards that just would wreck Limited, and stuff like Planeswalkers, or big showy cards. I think Providence fits the "interesting design" part, as well as the "wrecks Limited so hard" part.
So, why did they make the mythic rarity again?
>>48106793
> Not every card is specifically for you.
Who exactly is this card pandering to?
Because I'm sure as fuck even EDHfags are disappointed by it.
>>48107146

The optimist would tell you "so they can print cards that would wreck Limited at rare".
The fool would tell you that "opening Mythics is so fucking cool!".
Me, I'd say all of the above.
>>48106793
This shit is a step down from Siege-Gang Commander in both cost and usefulness. It's crap.
>>48107022
I work for my lgs and every time a set comes out I get paid to open a case so we can sell singles. I just use my employee discount to buy whatever I want from that and the rest online. On top of that my boss gives me spare promos from the set as an added bonus.
I stopped buying boxes a long time ago but still manage to get the cards I want while also satisfying the urge to crack packs and saving money.
They should reprint shit like this or at least similiar and cheaper if they expect the spider to be playable in standard.
>>48106243
There are at least two other spoiler threads up right now (one in autosage) you should have posted in those. Also, there should be "Spoiler" somewhere in the title here so people can find it.
I don't want to have to watch in three or more threads for the same topic.
Could have at least hit all opponents. Why bother making mythic legends if they're not even good in EDH? This isn't being played anywhere else anyway
>>48107284
Honestly, being able to turn a mass of tokens into repeated life loss is pretty good.
Spider also gives you a massive amount of toughness, which can be useful.

>>48107340
>mass tokens
>3
>7 fucking mana
>>48107187
>The cynic would tell you "sell more packs".
This is the only true on though it seems, look at eternal masters or reprints of some cards like platinium angel, why move previous rare cards to mythic if not to sell more boxes?
>>48107353
Yes, instead of looking if there is already a thread for spoilers people continuously make new ones and people end up having to follow multiple threads for the same content.
Which is shit.

http://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/latest-developments/finding-delirium-2016-03-25
>We also tried some threshold-based mechanics that counted cards in your opponent's graveyard, but that just led to people getting paralyzed at five or so cards in the graveyard, because casting spells could easily put them over the edge.
>I mentioned threshold before, and I want to talk a bit about it, since it is commonly perceived as a bad mechanic. That's not exactly true—threshold had a lot of problems within Odyssey block. Seven cards in your graveyard is a lot, depending on the format. It is a huge portion of your Limited deck, but pretty easy to get in Constructed—you just fill your deck with cantrips and mill cards. The bonus for turning it on was often very large (think Dirty Wererat, Werebear, or Krosan Beast) and kind of mindless. Getting seven cards in your graveyard through normal play is sometimes hard, but easy if you're playing a lot of enablers. Also, pairing it with flashback meant that it was very easy to accidentally turn it off. All of these meant that we didn't like what threshold did in Odyssey, but it didn't mean that mechanics like it couldn't work.
>Threshold doesn't care about what cards are in your graveyard, only how many, so it encourages you to sacrifice a lot of permanents and discard a lot of cards. Delirium, in contrast, cares about what card types are in the graveyard, so once one creature dies, for example, you're no longer focused on making your creatures die. This leads to better gameplay and makes for more interesting deck-construction choices. It also allowed development to have an easier time balancing delirium.
Could you cite where anyone said it was too complicated?
>>48107874
It's a Fleshbag that makes tokens when it sticks around. Its playable.
I'm using it in my Liliana EDH for sure. It's hardly uncommon for me to flip Lili 3 or 4 times a turn. Sadly, I'll only get one extra zombie at the end of the turn, but it's something when I'm not rolling.

MaRo has gone on record saying that Liliana of the Dark Realms was a mistake because planeswalkers should have their own unique identity and the 'swamps matter' element of LotDR was completely disconnected from other Lilianas.
Looking at all the printed Lilis (excluding Dark Realms) and none of them have any sort of connection with her +1 except arguably LotV's -2. The focus on lowering power over toughness seems out of color for black as well.
Her -2 is totally disconnected from her other iterations as well. Raise Dead effects are sometimes attributed to Liliana through flavor text but most of the time Liliana acts towards losing cards in your hand rather than gaining them (and of course, self mill is a foreign concept to Liliana)
Token production only appeared on Heretical Healer so the ult is also pretty silly.
This card doesn't do anything discard related, and the reanimation aspects are kind of a stretch. I don't think this card should have been Liliana.

I would argue that Sorin had a less defined planeswalker identity than Liliana. His change in colours gave him some more freedom. I don't think Grim Nemesis is a well designed card either but only because it falls into the Ob Nixilis/Jace/Nahiri paint-by-numbers planeswalker design.
Sorin should be the removal planeswalker and lili should be the discard/reanimation one.

>>48107985
Yes, actually.
Making it easier to get means it actually matters in more games, and it means your deck is less of a binary on/off deck. They can make the "off" version relatively stronger to offset the fact the "on" side is weaker than Threshold.

Lilianna should have been:

-2: mill 2, return a creature with power 2 or less to the battlefield.
-7: same ult, but also the emblem gives zombies you control haste.
>>48108514
There's also Contagion. But those are cards from long time ago. Modern design was directed towards making everything -X/-X because those are easier to remember.

There's plenty of myth to build on. Hell, check out the Mayan underworld, The Place of Fear.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xibalba
Xibalba seemed to be rife with tests, trials, and traps for anyone who came into the city. Even the roads to Xibalba were filled with obstacles: first a river filled with scorpions, a river filled with blood, and then a river filled with pus. Beyond these was a crossroads where travellers had to choose from among four roads that spoke in an attempt to confuse and beguile. Upon passing these obstacles, one would come upon the Xibalba council place, where it was expected visitors would greet the seated Lords. Realistic mannequins were seated near the Lords to confuse and humiliate people who greeted them, and the confused would then be invited to sit upon a bench, which was actually a hot cooking surface. The Lords of Xibalba would entertain themselves by humiliating people in this fashion before sending them into one of Xibalba's deadly tests.
The city was home to at least six deadly houses filled with trials for visitors. The first was Dark House, a house that was completely dark inside. The second was Rattling House or Cold House, full of bone-chilling cold and rattling hail. The third was Jaguar House, filled with hungry jaguars. The fourth was Bat House, filled with dangerous shrieking bats, and the fifth was Razor House, filled with blades and razors that moved about of their own accord. In another part of the Popol Vuh, a sixth test, Hot House, filled with fires and heat, is identified. The purpose of these tests was to either kill or humiliate people placed into them if they could not outwit the test.

But anon, that's a BAD thing. Being spread over multiple bodies is only good when the bonus bodies are decently disposable and are used for more damage.

>Elvish Archdruid
You finally got one past 2010, so that's nice, though I can't help but noticed it was first printed in 2010. Sure, they could've done it in BfZ, but they wanted Allies to be the tribal deck.
>Scavenging Ooze
Yes, let's print a graveyard hoser while we try to push Delirium.
>Hive Mind
2010 again.
>Leylines
Oh, 2011. Was it just 2010 was the last one you really liked?
>Baloth
That's very specific, isn't it?
>Liliana's Caress
Sure, I guess that could've worked as a Madness hoser.
>Grim Lavamancer
2012? Did you just go through the core sets in order?
>Smallpox
2012 again. You did, didn't you?
>Master of the Pearl Trident
2013! You really did!
>Omniscience
2013 again. You silly bastard.
>>48110466
>Veil Lily was first placed in m15, but monoB was too strong (pack rat, gary) so they saved her for later.
>LotV was too strong for M15
>Because of Pack Rat, a card that would be printed after Liliana
>So they saved her for later
Come again?
>>48110488
What does the fact that he searched the core sets in order have to do with anything? Do you expect everyone to have a list of "safe to kinda safe cards you could reprint in sets under the new 2 set a block structure that come from core sets" list handy?
You are not making a point friend.
>>48110540
It makes it really fucking obvious he didn't pick cards that would be good to reprint alongside the mechanics of the blocks and instead was just picking shit in order from where he saw it.
>>48110581
>cards that would be good to reprint alongside the mechanics of the blocks
Like this one? Or red donate in a set/block that has nothing to do with cards have downsides?
You make it sound like wizards puts LITERALLY every card in a set to push said set's mechanics/themes and don't just put cards in there for other reasons, like needed reprints or because they want X card/card effect to be in the modern cardpool or because it makes good limited/standard gameplay
>>48110680
>Or red donate in a set/block that has nothing to do with cards have downsides?
Red Donate is because Demonic Pact is in Standard and it makes for a janky combo deck. The considerations go out to Standard as a whole, typically.
Shit like suggesting Master of the Pearl Trident when BfZ had FIVE Merfolk is completely missing the point.
>>48110732
>The considerations go out to Standard as a whole, typically.
>Yeah, no, that would be super easy to have printed in BfZ or SoI. Fits perfectly with the flavor.
You are contradicting yourself left and right not to mention the goalpost moving. You have to be baiting at this point, please carry on
>>48110766
>You are contradicting yourself left and right not to mention the goalpost moving.
You are one dense motherfucker. The consideration for what cards are needed goes out to the Standard metagame, but they still need to fit it in the flavor of the set. If they had needed a 7 mana colorless creature that prevented you from losing the game to tie something together in Standard, it would've been an Eldrazi, not Platinum Angel.
Not only did Standard not fucking need Platinum Angel, they had nowhere to fucking put it. Harmless Offering could be printed anywhere because the flavor for it could go in any set.
I think I like it
>>48110895
WOO LIGHTNING STRIKE IS BACK THANK FUCK
this standard has seriously sucked without this baby. Time to spam UR goggles like no tomorrow.
>>48110919
>sorcery speed
FUCK ME
>>48110895
>goofy "Chandra puts fire on things" flavor
>sorcery
Sigh...
>>48110895
>uncommon
Fucking WHY.
>>48110919
>>48110934
Sorry Goys, searing spear is way too good to reprint in today's standard
>>48110934
You can cast it at instant speed with Brain Jar
>>48110975
I'd rather just use Fiery Temper at that point, which is what I'm already doing.
>>48110965
Making it exile but sorcery is fine anon, we had pillar of flame as a sorcery speed shock that did the same.
If it were straight 3 damage sorcery speed then you have full permission to bitch, but burn spell + stupid benefit - instant is time honored.
>>48111007
I'd rather Searing Spear. Or both.
>>48111007
It's a really weird thing to print when they didn't bring back Undying.
>>48111044
Because its clearly printed to weaken all the sick delirum cards tearing up standard.
>>48111083
>that probably is the real reason it was printed
>>48111007
with the state of red in this format, would incinerate really have been busted? Fuck they think even lightning strike would be the end of standard as we know it. What a joke.
>>48110474
Friendly reminder that WotC is a business.
>>48111143
>would incinerate really have been busted
I think they stopped printed red burn spells that fuck regen.
>>48111236
>I think they stopped printed red burn spells
yes
>>48111236
They're not doing Regen anymore and Indestructible is replacing it.
>>48110466
first printed in original Innistrad (m13), not m15.
>>48110540
Not that anon, but I honestly don't see where you're coming from. It's easy to guess which cards WotC will and will not reprint, those being "anything that costs more than the pack it was bought in."
You're not gonna get cards like Remand, but you could get cards like Spell Pierce.
>>48111315
>first printed in original Innistrad (m13), not m15.
They were going to PUT HER in M15.
>>48110330
>>48110488
What are you two talking about? They reprinted Pithing Needle in Return to Ravnica.
>>48106243
>Worse than the uncommon its refrencing
>Mythic
GREAT JOB WOTC
>>48111297
But why?
Regeneration was fine as a mechanic, and it fit more in black than Indestructible does.
They could easily keep both.
>>48111353
The part that's not coming through is "so they saved her for later".
They supposedly "saved her for later" by not printing her in a set that came well after she had already been printed?
>>48111353
>believing that shit
They're not gonna put a $100 dollar card in a starndard set, anon. They save that shit for modern/legacy/eternal/whatever masters
>>48111395
Because they don't want two "it doesn't die even if you kill it" mechanics that are both evergreeen, and Regeneration is basically the same thing as Indestructible but with a cost attached.
>>48111411
They saved her for a core set for later and now there are no more core sets so she's gone until Garruk comes looking for that ass again and they actually have a reason for the veil to be relevant.
>>48106243
Would be much better if you got even a single token on the activated ability.
>>48111414
I'm not saying they will, I'm saying that was the excuse they used that she wasn't in M15.
>>48111460
>http://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/latest-developments/mailbag-2015-05-15
>What kind of wacky development environment would it take for Liliana of the Veil to be Standard legal again? Do you just force her?
>It would be pretty difficult. By our estimates, Liliana is the second-most powerful Planeswalker ever. Some of that is due to interactions in older formats, but a lot of it is just that she's just really, really powerful. We tried her in Standard in M15, because we wanted Liliana of the Veil to go with the Garruk's curse storyline, but the more we tested her, the more obvious it was that she just wasn't okay. Some of it was how strong mono-black was in RTR-M15 Standard, but it was also that she was incredibly strong in Khans Standard.
>If we were to make this format where she was bad, the trick would be to have a lot of spells that really punishing people for you discarding them. The Loxodon Smiters of the world, and also having enough cheap haste creatures that she could easily be killed off when she does hit play. Or even just counterspells that happen to be free on 3-casting cost black cards. But that's not something we want to do for two reasons: 1) it will make a lot of other strategies that intersect with Liliana worse, and 2) we would get people excited by reprinting a powerful and popular card, only to pull the rug out from underneath them by also making it bad in Standard. I'll admit, we've done it before in Standard (not always on purpose), and I don't think it actually ends up making anybody happy—other than the people that just want to open the card in question.
It's not just that Black was too strong. They need to build an entire Standard environment around her to be able to print Liliana again, and they're not going to fucking do that.
>>48111527
SOI is literally the format to print LotV.
>+1, discard faggot
>I Madness cast Fire Temper from your discard
>>48111509
It's a dumb excuse, and I trusted you to be smart enough to get that, anon.
You're not gonna see Liliana of the Veil for the same reason you're not gonna see Blood Moon: they make more money by printing that shit in X-Masters.
Also, while we're on this point, the reason you're never gonna see Blood Moon ever again isn't because "it's too powerful in Standard." That's bullshit. All they'd have to do is make mono-coloured and/or Red the dominant colour, and they could reprint Blood Moon without fucking the meta..
>>48111527
>we literally can't reprint LotV because she'll either break standard in half or have so many answers people will complain that she's bad
WotC employees are experts at talking in circles
>>48110939
Goofy "puts things on fire" flavor is usually bad, but I really like this one. It actually has a punch line, for starters.
>>48111713
It's because Cycling is a good mechanic.
>>48111713
>we can't do anything because something might happen
>>48111713
It's almost impressive at this point how their arguments make sense at first glance but on a second reading you realise it's almost always complete bollocks they probably took a few seconds to bash out so the fans were pacified.
>>48107495
On the ultra, no-fun combofag level 7 fucking mana wins you the game, on a level below that you have shit like Hornet Queen and Avenger of ZEN, this thing has no place unless for some reason you really like it and want to make it work for you somehow.
>>48111611
So you're going with the "Print her when she's shit" strategy?
>>48111689
I hate to say it anon, but making Red the dominant colour would making re-printing Blood Moon not very healthy at all. Did you mean making mono-red a weaker colour? I'm confused.
>>48107632
There 5+CMC token producers that don't fucking die to Scooze or Crypt.
>>48111818
Obviously. It'd be the perfect time to print her too, since it means standardfags can open her and then sell her to modern/legacy/vintagefags and be able to actually afford other pricey standard cards.
>>48108517
Because the crowd they're now trying to pull are drooling retards that can't put 1+1 together.
>>48111833
If everyone is playing red then blood moon doesn't mean shit.
It's retarded but it's true.
>>48111818
doesn't that make everyone happy? People who want here reprinted will have more reprints that will cost nothing because she doesn't impact standard and Wizards will be happy because they can reprint a card fans want without it impacting standard and they don't have to do a functional reprint that's a shit version.
>>48111870
Got it in one
>>48111870
Well, in a twisted sort of way, that makes sense. Not sure that's the format I'd want to see though to be honest.
Why couldn't they print it alongside a great deal of powerful multi-coloured cards so it could serve it's original purpose and make playing multi-coloured no longer a safe idea?oh and they should reprint Back to Basics into Modern
>>48111689
What we need is Muraganda. Make sure there's a strong, Basics Matter, theme throughout the block, and print Blood Moon as a way of enforcing it. You'll need the previous block to have had a decent multicolor theme so that Blood Moon works as a hoser against whatever the decks were that would be running against Muraganda's principles.
>>48111870
If everyone was playing Red, and then they reprinted Blood Moon, you'd get the exact same shit we're getting right now with people complaining that they're making even more good green and white cards.
>>48111925oh, and price of progress
>>48108787
Nigger, this thing is a scarier general and all it is a mana-hungry void that wants to shit out a billion tokens ASAP and alpha strike everyone to death, the damned spider doesn't even have that ability.
>>48111925
>>48111973
I hate you and everything you stand for.
>The next person I meet who enjoys counting the number of types in their graveyard will be the first. People don’t enjoy it and aren’t particularly good at it either
Sperling is a cool dude sometimes
>>48111996
Shit, I forgot about her. I need to get around to putting my foil of her into Azusa.
>>48111929
I just thought of something. What if they printed Lightning Bolt and Blood Moon in the same set?
Wouldn't they cancel eachother out, with Lightning Bolt making Red good and Blood Moon therefore being undesirable?
>>48112000there's nothing more fun than punishing people for playing lands they spent hundreds of dollars on
>>48106308
Delver is common
>>48112049
No because Blood Moon also makes red good.
>>48109809
>mad because he has to read opponents cards
>>48112059
>>48112000my other favoured decks are manaless dredge, 8rack, 4 horsemen, canadian threshold, stax/MUD and storm.
Do you still hate me?I think MaRo might :c
>>48111929
This is already a tried and true strategy you can see in some set designs.
For instance, Tunnel Ignus makes absolutely zero sense in the context of Scars of Mirrodin. It's function only becomes obvious when taken in the context of being in the set that came after Zendikar, with Fetches and Landfall being all the rage.
They didn't want to print a huge amount of Land hate in Zendikar, because they wanted to see people playing a bunch of Lands because that was the set mechanic. However, when Scars hit, Tunnel Ignus was a way of saying "Alright, the time for that is over, play with the new mechanics".
To print a powerful hoser like Blood Moon, you would need to do exactly the same thing. Don't print it in the block where it will have the greatest impact, print it in the block that is immediately after that.
>>48112049
You're going by the "Print it when it's shit" strategy too. If you have to make it so it's bad to play Blood Moon to print it, then you're printing it at a bad time.
>>48112121
I never saw Tunnel Ignus ripping up Standard though
>>48112257
The effectiveness of it isn't always very prominent. Ash Zealot was more or less the same.
They're more like pressure release valves, in case R&D underestimated something, than full on metagame defining cards. The influx of other new cards into the metagame coming from the set being released are usually enough to shift focus so that the change is organic instead of being completely reliant on the hosers.
They're not their as the singular standard defining cards, they're just there if they need to be.
>>48111236
I kek at how bad red is nowadays. It's like maro likes shitting on anything red while at the same time printing fuckhuge efficient creatures in white and green because...uh idk. Meanwhile red has only devolved in both power and flavor, black gets nothing but "Hope you like another useless zombie card senpai lmao"
>>48111713
lol. "We have to print tamiyo as UWG because we have to print that way"
>>48113263
Tamiyo would be retarded as a mono blue walker as she is.
>>48113296
It would fit her lore and her abilities.
If they were afraid of people splashing her in decks then make her 1UUU.
>>48113312
Honestly UUUU would've been better.
>>48111145
Yeah, but business and not just WotC need to stop getting involved in politics, especially this gender shit
>>48113329
For you.
>>48108569
I'm not the only one that fixed on that line.
>>48113379
That's part of being a business now.
>>48113379
The fact that the pros make up an old boys club and can get anyone they dont like banned while being immune to the rules is a thousand times bigger of an issue than the SJW nonsense.Other than that fucking awful chick they hired to cast WOTC events with the red hair, god damn she is bad at her job
