>I was promised sourcebooks
>ultratech, high-tech, biotech, pyramid Tech and toys 1, 2 and 3, Fantasy, dungeon fantasy, City Stats, thaumatology
everything else will always be handmade, thats the point about GURPS, the sourcebooks gives you the tools to handtailor the setting being as historical or realistic as you want, there are even equations for making real non covered weapons into GURPS stats(covered by GURPS Interior and Terminal Ballistics and 3 more articles for even more detailed conversion and aditional full on realistic rules for really long range gunshooting)
>>47907342
My point was that, though they have a bunch of sourcebooks for high-tech stuff (which doesn't follow from 'urban fantasy' but whatever) and for some magic, they don't have a sourcebook for Canada. Saying, "but you can make everything by yourself, that's the point" goes against the idea that GURPS has sourcebooks for everything. Fucking Rifts has a book for Canada, complete with O.C.C.s. The GURPS books don't let me make the setting 'historical' because they don't have any history in them.
If all I wanted was 'rules for urban fantasy' I could use any one of a dozen systems that focus on that, because I'm going to have to homebrew the setting-specific details anyways.
>>47907319
Good puppers.
>>47907385
dude, sourcebooks gives you the fucking tools and there are tools for creating and representing nations in any way you want, these are tools, GURPS isn't a history book to give you fluf, its a fucking clean system.

also Pyramid Urban Fantasy I, II and GURPS horror covers pretty much everything that isn't covered on the other sourcebooks, these coherent modular mechanics along with the other books cover absolutely everything you can try to describe as the forum is trying to get something from "Fantasy" or "horror" that isn't covered for a few years and nothing yet.also last time we found something a pyramid article covered that a few months laterthe only thing we still don't have is a actualised meme GURPS vehicles

>>47906328

>>47907454
> GURPS isn't a history book to give you fluf, its a fucking clean system
Right. That's why there's 6 different AADA Road Atlases for different parts of the USA, because GURPS is so clean and without fluff. GURPS has plenty of setting-specific material, they just don't have anything for this particular setting and you can't accept that is a gap in the GURPS library.
The challenge was>>47907088
>name anything and i give you the sourcebooks
I named something. You could only give me half the sourcebooks required (the ones that can do the mechanics of running urban fantasy) and could not give me the other half (a sourcebook for magic Ottawa, or anything at all for Canada).
Looking at that, I can say, "GURPS provides the tools for running an urban fantasy game, but I'll need to invent all the monsters and fluff on my own (yes, I know there are monster stats and creation rules, stay with me GURPSfag). D20 Modern also gives me tools for running an urban fantasy game, though I'll need to invent the monsters and fluff (and it has some monster creation rules as well). So does Urban Shadows, the FATE Dresden Files RPG, and a bunch of other games. OWoD has both the mechanics and the fluff for urban fantasy in Canada. Therefore, GURPS fails the challenge, and does nothing special as compared to many other games on the market."
This isn't saying GURPS is bad; this is pointing out that GURPS does not have the sourcebooks for everything, despite what some people claim, and that there's no pressing reason to use GURPS for this Ottawa urban fantasy game, because it doesn't reduce the amount of work I as the GM would have to put into it.

The dragons do nothing except burn shit for 6 minutes per session total as the CGI budget tanked. Half of every episode is dany making shit speeches that go literally nowhere as does her general arc. Ramsay got eaten by dogs and rapevictim got off on it. Littlefinger is still kicking ass and we just proved last thread they have suddenly giving zero shits about consistency on timeline as all armies and people literally teleport in an instant to a spot thats perfect distance away for a timely save.
>>47907614
>setting specific
if it is on a SETTING BOOK it isn't a SOURCE BOOK.
>I named something. You could only give me half the sourcebooks required
i gave you the sourcebooks, the system material, its your setting, good luck trying to run this, other than that i could only say like "hey go and read the borderlands, looks like the setting you are looking for" but thats not a GURPS sourcebook as it got no iluminati mechanics.
>and does nothing special as compared to many other games on the market.
lets see, rulesets for realistic(harsh or not), cinematic, fantastical and supers rulesets, gunplay ranging from "i shoot, roll dice" to "half second precision movements with body position track", 751 skills for tl7-12, rulesets for hex, square, doublehex or nogrid plus possibility for conversion of any weapon with any format and configuration as there are 3 articles covering beams, energy loss and balistics, sure, GURPS has nothing special.
>because it doesn't reduce the amount of work I as the GM would have to put into it
no, it won't reduce, desu it would extend the work needed, GURPS isn't a system for "everyone" and never was meant to be, its a system for specialization, made thinking on the GM's who wish to take long hours and days tailoring the system to exactly what he wants and need, sure, you can prepare and run a simple campaign in under 20 minutes if you wish to but the system huge support was made for the ones who want to tailor the system to his setting.

Not retarded, but maybe a bit mistake. There's a couple points I want to make.
First is you should look at the gloves these guys are wearing. Not very heavily padded at all. This means their hands aren't very well protected, and contrary to what most people think, your hands are one of the most delicate parts of your body.
Skulls are in fact way tougher than hands. If you put all of your weight and power behind a closed handed strike and hit someone in the face, chances are you're going to fuck up your hand if it's not well protected.
These guys probably aren't putting as much behind their punches as they could because they have to worry about their hands. Still, there's probably more power there than you think. If you're a trained and conditioned fighter you get to a point where it's harder to throw a bad punch than a good one.

Also, a dc 20 check in pathfinder is something that you only fail if you want/need to do it in a hurry.

Took me a second, but that's actually a really neat picture
>>47910676
Yeah, they're by far the high point of the show. Matt's great at maintaining the feel of the situation with descriptions and such, but you can start to make out patterns in the way he speaks. Like, you can almost make a drinking game based on how many times he says "ascertain". Probably all part of being able to respond to anything and remember the names of every NPC ever.
>>47910625
SHAME!
Actually, wait, no, that's a shitty meme.
I stopped watching halfway through season 5. There's only so much character assassination of the rightful king I can take.

A proper GURPS vehicles would be helpful.
As would rules for building characters as equipment, and pricing them, since that's basically people do vehicles in GURPS.

4e GURPS is mostly just crunch.
But really you're just being obtuse. Dude pretty clearly meant GURPS has mechanics for everything, not that it has setting books for everything.
I can come up with all kinds of settings that GURPS hasn't got official support for, starting with forgotten realms, off the top my head.

Won't necessarily kill you unless you huff a literal ton of it, but it can cause cumulative degenerative damage.

Why?
Are you worried about all the paint you've been huffing?
At least you're not that one guy who was huffing air horn gas.

Nature is pretty neat!
>>47911469
It's a lot of the same aerosol components of spray paint, it's just... from a device that makes a ton of noise when you use it.
Most people, when huffing, blow what they want into a paper bag and then inhale from there.
Then there's this fucktard:

I've seen a single Entangle change the course of entire battle numerous times. Clerics usually don't have Entangle (unless they have Plant domain, but I've yet to see Plant domain Cleric in a game). Besides, as a druid you can frontline while wildshaped (although, admittedly, you need that one feat to cast while 'shaped), and have a fairly powerful pet.Provided we're speaking 3.5

Wikipedia says he has a satellite phone, radio and a rescue crew in rescue range (probably a dozen kilometers or so) and they make sure the area has everything needed (like a stream, berries, etc.).
But he is alone and with very little supplies.
>>47912140
I'm just skeptical of him since the second he hit money troubles he started shilling everything like a sasquatch miniseries and one where he dragged his son out who obviously didn't want to be there.

>>47912342
I could see him doing the sasquatch stuff because he mentions in several episode about things he has heard or seen out in the wilderness before but the "specialists" he had with him seemed far to convinced everything was bigfoot. I think he took his son to show that even an untrained person can survive but it kind of backfired because like you said you could tell he didn't want to be there and would have died if not for his dad pushing him.
>>47912455
Found out later his son had some type of cancer they didn't know about during filming. Either way he did some sasquatch miniseries where he did like 4 episodes of meeting with 2 "experts" then did like 8 episodes where he went to know hotspots and tried to instigate a showing. Always ended it with this footage one of the experts took of a face that other sadquatch experts said is the realest deal they've got and would cost like a million dollars to do. Then a film expert said he could do it for a few hundred and most of the expense would be the camera.
