I honestly dont know how to feel about this card. The fact it gives the opponent an extra turn kills it for me. There is also the fact that its "Target opponent" and not "target player" so you cant even give yourself an extra turn. If it was "card types in ALL graveyards" it would be better too.
It just does not do enough for me to like it. It looks nice but mechanically I think I'll pass. Its just to risky with not enough bonuses.
If I control an "opponent" can I make them violate a tournament rule, like say their creature will "rape" mine or that their hand is "gay"?
I mean, if they have to follow instructions it's a rules violation if they don't do as I ask.

I think it's amazing because it can hit the yard. Mimeoplasm and g/b recursion just got a major beat stick and as a commander, it's surprisingly versatile as a ultimate chunk blocker, a flyer and a mindslaver for as little as 7 colourless. Thats the WRONG way of thinking about it. You need to think in turns of the whole turn not just what you can do in a turn.
Just this last weekend I had two eternal masters draft matches lost by exactly one turn and one topdecked card.
They get a free draw. Sure you get to see what they have in their hand but that can mean fuck all. They still have it and can play it. If they HAVE instants and stuff you can use for unfavorable things sure you can do it but what if they dont? Then all you can do is swing an unfavorable attack. That is hardly game winning.
The problem here is consistency. It could be a blow out or it could actually hurt you by giving them that extra draw into a board wipe. Its just to risky to risk using.
Look at Ulamog. He hits the field and gets rid of two problems every time. He attacks and nukes 20 cards from their library every time. He is good because you can count on his ability helping you every time.

Am I really the only one who thinks this art is hilariously bad? That pose is so stiff, it looks like some edgy shit I would draw in my notebook in middle school, trying to go for the edgiest looking thing possible.
Im seriously hoping for innistrad to get fucking annihilated.
>>47872445
Except for some much of the land still being desiccated and devoid of life, the entire planet having shaken half to pieces, Kiora's entire army of sea monsters still dead, the pathetically tiny remnants of the Zendikari army disbanding, the guy responsible (Bolas) not having been brought to justice, Chandra now walking with a cane, and the extremely unsubtle foreshadowing from Ugin that killing them instead of containing them has doomed the universe.
>Wizards attempt to recreate Lovecraft's cryptic fictional languages is to put the BBEG'S name after every word

>>47872555
If she cost less then yes the risk would be worth it. As is I would rather have something cheaper that wont be a dead card if I cant work the mana up. Realistically I would only use her if her hard cast was 9 with the same effects.

A scheming, twice-scorned artificer who is only still a mere human is far more compelling than the Jacetice league vs mythic rare of the week.
>>47872619
That's the point. I would only want to pay 5 or 6 mana for it. By the time you have 6 mana on the field you should be moving to wrap up the game. Your deck needs fixing if it drags on longer than 5 lands.
>>47872509

>>47871759
SoI was supposed to be the third set for the BFZ block until the blocks were changed to two sets.
So Emmy was probably part of the story already.
>In that moment, there was nothing Jace wanted more than to do as she said. He wanted to go, to leave this world, leave the titan. Return to the world they had already saved: Zendikar. Sea Gate. The merfolk the kor and the vampires together. Nissa would be there, her green eyes aglow. And Gideon with his broad shoulders and ready smile, and—
>"Well, look who decided to show up. Hey, Gideon, over here!"
>—Chandra.
>"About time!" The tromping of boots materialized in Jace's ears, and the afterimage of Emrakul looming above gave way to the smiling face of his friend.

I dont care for big creatures. Their problem is that rarely does it converge that they are both big and viable. There has to be a way to get them to the field in a timely manner. Every turn is another turn your opponent can bullshit and win. With the current stance on mana rocks, dorks, and ramp there is just not a lot of ways to efficiently get these big things out.
I would rather have a 2/1 flyer in my deck than this Emy as of now. Unless they do a 180 and green turboramp is a thing again it will stay that way.

too powerful for Standard/Limited/Draft
This card isn't very good. Would rather play new Kozilek instead desu
Too expensive to be normally cast, no point to reanimate
When it hits the field it's just a big beater which isn't very good. Ulamog does something by just attacking. Kozilek can counter opponent's spells for consistent value. New emrakul doesn't really do anything else once it hits the field besides be a flyer that can get chump blocked fairly easily and that dies to most removal in standard and almost everything in EDH. On top of that it can get countered. Even with pseudo-delerium it's too expensive for modern when better, more damaging, or hardier alternatives exist.
Bane of Bala Ged is a better card than this, and that was uncommon. Don't see this one being even a moderately high price past the a few weeks beyond release

I said that explicitly because the rest of the set is not revealed. They COULD surprise us but precedent is not with them. They have been upping the cost of ramp to high. Rocks are non existent and dorks are "problematic" and their cost is sky rocking as well.
With all that investment why not just use some protection/evasion and kill spells? Ramp, rocks, and dorks already have an inherent drawback of not pushing the board state. Their prices are getting ridiculous.

The problem is that its a 13/13 youll probably be paying 10 for. And while that psuedo Mindslaver is nice anyone who plays with Mindslaver will know that it whiffs sometimes. Maybe they have more than one sorcery speed removal and not enough mana to cast both? Maybe a tutor as well? Maybe even something more threatening than a kill spell for dear Emmy? Its not always christmasland.
Then, even if she survives and you manage to swing, what if they have more than 13 life? Now they get another turn, admittedly with less life and probably in danger, but they could turn it around.
The problem is that the effect isnt immediately beneficial and may actually provide very little benefit at all, especially when compared to a majority of the other titans/valuable cards.

Wait! I have a negate in hand and cast a removal to kill your attacking creatures. Now I hard cast her, use all your removals on your own board, attack and assign blockers and kill none of my creatures and all of yours, then empty your hand with a discard effect you had.

>>47873116
it'll almost always cost less than 10 in a ramp deck.
I can't imagine not getting 4 card types into the grave by turn 7.
Can the autistic waifufags stop playing this game already? It's embarassing.
Emrakul's real ability according to this thread.
When you cast Emrakul, you gain control of target opponent during that player's next turn. After that turn, put a Dreadbore into that player's hand then that player takes an extra turn.
>>47872082
The fact that you get to steal a turn from your opponent means that they're effectively in topdeck mode trying to deal with her, you can just dump all their sorcery speed removal on their own creatures or on some other dork you have out, and then have them attack with whatever flying chump blocker they might have had so Emrakul can eat it.
>>47873264
Control and smash their monsters into a 13 power trample creature while wasting all their mana for something else.
>>47873172

>>47873246
I'm not saying that exact thing is gonna happen every single time or that you'll even get punished at all half the time, all I'm saying is that it seems like a lot of work for a play that doesn't win you the game on the spot, and there's a chance it could even come back to bite you depending on how the game has been going up to that point. What you said could happen as well, but that isn't guaranteed either
Players will find themselves losing after ulting for this a fuckton of a lot more than searching for the first Emrakul, but ulting Nahiri for this in Standard will still result in a win a majority of the time
>>47872115
You're 10 times more retarded than the average retard.
Emrakul plays well with a few standard staples your opponent uses.
Transgress the Mind for instance, can target yourself, Anguished Unmaking can hit your own shit, ect.
Dec in stone and Stasis Snare hit Emrakul, but those decks run things that can be hit by them as well.

You're both idiots. A chump block is a block that disposes of a comparatively weak creature to completely block a blow from a much larger creature that is expected by both players to survive combat, while the weaker creature will die. The purpose of a chump block is to hold off damage. You can still call it "chump blocking" if the blocked creature tramples through, but that seems to me like a misuse of the term. You can chump block with a 4/4, but usually that's not going to happen unless you're playing EDH where you might have, say, 12/12s and shit flying around, so comparatively the 4/4 is a chump.

>not "legendary creature - angeldrazi"
>>47874393
Ugin was also concerned that the eldrazi serve some unknown purpose in the ecosystem of the multiverse, and killing them off will have disastrous consequences down the line. I want THAT to be true.
Like, the reason you need a Spark to planeswalk is because the eldazi nom anything that stays in the blind eternities for more than a split second, but now the phyrexians can just build spelljammers and overrun everything. Or something.
>>47874393

It'd be "Legendary Creature - Ange'mrakul", in any case.
>Run 3 of this in a Sin Prodder deck
>Reveal it
>Take 13 of give me a game ender
I can't wait
>>47874393
That was true. The first step to destroying the Eldrazi on Zendikar was pulling them ALL THE WAY into Zendikar, so they could actually be destroyed instead of just blowing up their hand.
It nearly broke the entire plane in half.
Truth be told, given how narrowly they managed to pull that off, is Emrakul had been there as well their plane almost certainly would have failed. They barely had enough power to bind and destroy 2 Eldrazi, a whole third Eldrazi (especially since Emrakul is by all accounts the strongest) would have broken the plan.
>>47873096
To be fair, when Jace is listing off major threats to the multiverse it went something like "Bolas,Phyrexia,Eldrazi and the Chain Veil".
So Emrakul getting a little bit shit stomped before getting thrown into moon jail seems likely.
>>47874500
One thing I find very important is that not all of the Eldrazi spawn died when the Titans were destroyed.
This means that, on some level, Ulamog and Kozilek still exist. Very small parts of them do, at least.
I would be shocked if we didn't get a story down the line of Ugin capture some Eldrazi spawn and slowly grown a couple of new Eldrazi titans, kept in stasis, ready to release in case it turns out the Eldrazi actually are important.
>>47874567
Also Ob Nixilis. He's not really a threat to the multiverse as far as they know, but he made it abundantly clear in his Machiavellian saturday morning cartoon behavior that he intends to make himself a problem for the Gatewatch in the future.
>>47874567
The Eldrazi, I feel, are only that low on the list because they can only be in one place at a time. They are massively fucking dangerous to a single plane, but in terms of multiversal threats they move slowly. Inevitably, but slowly.
Phyrexia, meanwhile, spreads like a fucking plague.

>>47874624
Also, at that time, "the eldrazi" consisted solely of Emrakul, whose whereabouts were totally unknown. Since they didn't even know where to look she was low priority. Now that she's been spotted in the wild, active on an inhabited plane, the gatewatch seems to have mobilized based on the trailer.
>>47874689
The AND CHANDRA KILLED THEM ALL WITH FIRE GOOD JOB TEAM is what started it.
Also MARO getting triggered and freaking out when people called it the Jacetice league.
>>47874689
To be clear, I'm not accusing the gatewatch of being a saturday morning cartoon. I'm calling Ob a saturday morning cartoon villain. And he totally is! He's evil because he likes being evil and the whole reason he attacked the gatewatch is because he saw a bunch of heroes and decided to be the villain they deserve. After he defeated them, instead of killing them he took them back to his lair and held them captive. The dude is one step away from twirling his mustache. And I like it!

Nahiri gloating to Sorin on a cliff overseeing Emrakul tearing apart the heart of Innistrad, throwing all of his broken promises and betrayals and failures in his face.
"This is for lying to me. This is for breaking your promise. This is for leaving me in your damn prison. THIS IS FOR ZENDIKAR."
And then, at that moment, Nissa (it needs to be Nissa to really be most effective) is the one to tell her:
"Zendikar lives."
That moment, at the height of her victory, where Nahiri realizes she is avenging the death of a plane that was not destroyed. Damaged, ruined, but still survives.
Realizing that in annihilating Innistrad, she has gone too far.
And in that moment, before she has time to apologize, Innistrad comes apart at the seams, her revenge complete even though she no longer is sure she wants it.

I'm finding it really strange that we are getting this unrelenting, overwhelming tide of misogyny ever since the Nahiri lore article dropped.
This is 4chan, so some amount of contrarian edgelordness is always to be expected, but its really been kind of ceaseless lately. Certainly more than /tg/ usually has.

>Realizing that in annihilating Innistrad, she has gone too far.
I sincerily hope she doesn't do that. As far as I understand the story, she is doing all this to cause Sorin pain, not to exact some kind of eye for an eye justice. It doesn't matter if zendikar survived or not, she wants to make Sorin suffer no matter the cost.
But knowing wizards they might pull this one out and I will be sad.

You guys are right, I stopped reading after I saw the zombie token. My bad!

Wouldn't be surprised if there were an influx of redditors on /tg/ right now.

This. This post right there. This is why we can't have nice things. Oppression this, misogny that, racism there. It's 2016. Institutionalized racism and sexism towards women ended almost 50 years ago. The only kind that still exists is the personal kind that comes from idiots perpetuating a stereotype, and the only people who give a shit about it are ugly women, racial minorities with a chip on their shoulder, and liberal cucks. So, shitposter, which one are you?

At least Gaywatch won't last for thirteen motherfucking sets.
Probably.

You're a faggot.
>>47875745
Its a joke. Fuck off back to your safe space.

You don't know what you're talking about.
A chump block is a block where the attacking creature lives and the blocking creature dies. If they both die, it's called a trade. If blocking creature survives, it's a regular block (whether or not the attacker lives).

I can't say I'm waiting with impatience on the deluge of /pol/-tier memery during the next Standard season.
Jesus, it's going to be so fucking obnoxious.
>>47876402
Not really. It especially isn't when more than half the damage gets through.

Yes really. That's the definition. A chump block is a block where you throw away a creature to avoid some of the damage, knowing beforehand that the creature is going to die and the attacker is not. That is the definition of chump block.
You can "chump block" with an Emrakul if you're blocking a Marit Lage token.

Stop using words like racism or misoginy unironically, you faggots. I can't believe I have to say this.
>sexism towards women ended almost 50 years ago
So much wrong with this narrative.
