Are the Chessex pound of dice a good purchase?
I bought the Wiz Dice bag of dice, and while the quality/style wasn't as good as Chessex, the thing I really liked was that they were split up as sets of the seven dice, rather than being purely random and being stuck with 5 dice you like but lacking the two you needed to complete the set.

They're pretty good for me as I just like the volume for filling my lanterns and skulls and what nots. If you get enough bags at the same time you're pretty likely to get a full set of something you like. I go for bags that have a lot of bright colours if I can. I haven't bought any lately from my flgs as they're all dominantly burgundy in colour. The actual spread of the dice is pretty good though you'll get a ton of d10s as you get the percentile ones too.

I heard it was mostly d6s and d10s, which I guess is better than a sack full of d12s, but I think full sets are just generally tidier. Thanks for the info, since I like to recommend new players to just chip in and buy one of those bags to get dice for the entire group (and then some), and I wasn't really sure which of those two brands to recommend. It seems like Wiz Dice are better for bulk sets, while Chessex are better if you plan on purchasing a particular set (or in your case, for raw volume).

The one I got was mostly d20s and d6s with a small amount of d10s, and that's what I've heard most people say they get as well. They do provide a full set in colours only sold with the bag, supposedly. Pic related is mine.

Having owned a pair of cats, yes. They really like boxes. I've occasionally delayed throwing out boxes because my cats wanted to play with them.
Also, cats sitting down with their legs and tail all tucked under them is a common phenomenon known as "cat-loaf", as the shape of the cat's body resembles a loaf of bread without any of its extremities visible.
