New to Mercs, thoughts?

Needs more Savio
>>47783217
You mean mini-Ashlynn? What for?
>>47783422
for the purpose of being SAVIO MONTERO ACOSTA
Is there a comprehensive list of all the rules changes from Mk 2 to Mk 3? Friends want to play tomorrow but I don't think I'll have time to read the new Prime between work and game night.
>>47783573
There's some videos on YouTube that go through all the changes. On phone, otherwise I'd link them.
>>47783158
-Boomhowlers are garbage. GARBAGE!
-Needs Savio.
-Needs a Freebooter or Mariner so she doesn't insta-die when someone inevitably engineers a knockdown. Or you could wait for Gibbs to solve the problem.
Hey I was considering getting into coc for the new edition, I hear syntherion and lucant are still great, but how is axis in the new Meta without his teir list and the changes to rezing models? Is he still viable?
>Vyros1 pops Mobility
>Sphinx blazes up and tags a babysitting light jack
>Mittens drag it all the way to my front lines for disposal while clearing a lane for my Sentinels to bumrush and engage their caster
I think I picked the right faction.Vyros got assassinated immediately afterwards because I left a quarter-inch gap between my Aspis and a wall, but it's a learning experience
>>47784159
>GARBAGE
Cacaphony is good
>>47784301
GARBAGE
>>47784301
If you can deliver it, which you can't except maybe with MacBAIN!!! because the unit is now SPD5 and 12/15, which is fucking garbage.
>>47783135
>Skornergy Edition
You know, given that Skorne's biggest characteristic is sadomasochistic suffering, you'd think that the players that chose the faction would learn to enjoy the pain.
I truly think that we need only to learn to love the pain.
>>47784159
What would you propose to replace Boomhowler as a tarpit? And I don't personally think Savio is that good. He gets crumped pretty easily, delivery doesn't seem easy.
Gibbs is on my buy-list.
who's the best at running a minuteman and why?
in caster battlegroup?
with a jr, or marshalled?
just buyed me one, as it looks to be potentially more output and fun than a charger at the same cost.
andالله أكبر
>>47784535
No you may not blow up your FLGS
Here I go senpaitachi.
>>47784535
Minutemen are for kebab removal, you aren't allowed to use them.
Try Protectorate, their new battlebox caster is probably right up your alley what with the whole "murdering helpless innocent civilians" bit.
>>47784694
>playing makeda1 and molik karn
>>47784773
Mk3 Makeda1 can let Incindiarii walk 9" and shoot, which they can't do in Mk2.
>>47784802
They could in MK2. With Mak2. And in MK3 they can still do it at 8".
>>47784802
great, that'll stop all those jack bricks and control casters.
plus they already could walk that far, with mak2. Except she could actually get them disengaged with her FS immune feat if she wanted them to shoot on a turn when they'd been jammed up
>>47784864
>Jamming up infantry
The Lash ;^)
>>47784694
i think the brute is a bit redundant since she gives her battle group shield guard, but otherwise i like em. good luck
>>47784937
She doesn't give her battlegroup shield guard because that spell is fucking awful and you should never use it.
>>47783573
Theres a thread on the PP forums that lists all the changes. There aren't any major ones besides the ones we were told months ago.
Is this the same guy that thought a single unit of incindiarii with no buffs or synergies would clear all the infantry in the table?
I see you included the minimum 25 points of support, too.
>>47785078
its not a skorne list without so much support the list is bloated all to hell and then gets annihilated off the table
is it a bug in war room that i can't add a blackhide wrastler to wrong eye's battlegroup? or in mk3 is he limited to just snapjaw in non minion lists?
>>47785232
I think that's a bug, yeah.

There is no god above Menoth.

There is no fear unassailable with faith in Menoth.
There is no object that cannot be given up for Menoth.
There is no word other than the Word of Menoth.
There is no end. There is a place for us all at the feet of Menoth.

Druids of Orboros losing the ability to pull people closer, now only able to push them away.
so if i'm hearing this rumour correctly, apparantly an infernal is checking, but has ruled that currently rules as written eCaine can elect to have the pow 10 trick shot hit his original target as it counts as a model within 4" in prime rules.
so when going for the assassination or just in general if he wants to spam a shit ton of pow 10 double taps, hes completely in his power to do so
>>47786816
5 is simply ridiculous. That's half the cost of the entire unit
>>47786853
Bout doubles/triples its killing potential with Overtake (move 11" after a kill), Overtake (make another attack after a kill), and the Divine Inspiration (add extra dice and drop lowest) on a weaponmaster unit.
Run them with the right casters and they'll be absolutely bonkers.

He any good in cygnar?
This is the list o mine:
Its a stylish list with Harchevich.
The idea is that the Kodiaks lay out Steam Clouds and reposition back, creating solid walls of clouds that protects the infantry. In a pinch they can also run with mobility and fry infantry.
Rifles either shoot infantry or charge in a pinch, Field Gun knocks stuff down to aid Destroyers.
The many Destroyers weaken stuff with many bombard shots. Free focus is used for Boosting damage or accuracy as needed. The amount of movement shenanigans at least ensures an alpha. Even if its not a killer, Kodiaks can at least throw their problems away.
Feat Armor means they can survive most counter retaliation, Mechanics hopefully ensure perfect working order.
Its more style over super optimization, but any general suggestions?
>>47786983
If he actually counted as a stormblade he would be an excellent baby sitter for a stormclad, otherwise he's a solid combat solo.
He does have a legit ranged assassination threat under 3Nemo and with the help of a firefly
>>47786813
I wish there was art of Julius
That way we could have "Don't talk to me or my Kings son ever again"
>>47787047
And by legit I mean gimmicky as shit and dependent on getting an avenger KD.

They do not know how to design the game or they intentionally make shit
>>47784340
SPD5 and 12/15 is extremely good, the best infantry unit in the game, Bane Thralls, had those stats and they dominated the game in MK2. You're just a cryxbabby who never took off the training wheels. This is what the game is like for the rest of us.

As a Trollblood player I'm honestly not upset about the Tough change. It seems to have reduced our points costs a bit and you could never rely on getting a Tough when you needed it anyway.
What I'm disappointed in is how our infantry have all been neutered or stayed the same when we needed some buffs. Skinner is still terrible, Scouts are still terrible, Bushwackers still unimpressive, Sons of Bragg were nerfed for some reason, Champs are still bad.
We are just so bland now, with only a couple exceptions.
>>47788006
Trolls are the aggressively average. Their stuff is OK, their casters meh, and their beasts expensive and unimpressive.
It's neat in that there's very little that's super terrible, but with no broken theme lists to prop them up Trolls will maintain their status as meh status and likely won't perform well in the new edition
>>47787848
hopefully to's avoid it then.

>>47788006
I'm bit miffed about tough changes because it feels so fucking pointless now. There's billions of way to bypass it and if there isn't, it comes up only once which then someone else just double taps.
The odds of model surviving with tough is so astronomically low now that I almost wish it wasn't even there and it feels like a chore rolling the dice.
I would've loved it if tough was auto pass first time and auto fail second time, but alas
>>47788188
If you plan a tough faction you should always be playing like it doesn't exist. In Mk2 it was a dumb thing that happened but you could never count on it but you're opponent had to plan around it.
This is more true now except your opponent might not get totally derailed by one dude making a billion tough rolls.

>>47788237
You played it like it didn't exist because it was unreliable, but it was still a significant thing when it could happen so you rolled the dice. Now, it's even less of a thing that still requires my input.
I'm saying that tough is so meaningless to the point where I wish I could choose to not roll the dice.
>>47788006
I feel the same way about Cryx- still good I guess but very bland. Really all of mkiii has left a rather flavorless taste in my mouth, and Im unhappy with how it was rolled out.
I really dont feel like they spent 3 years on it
>>47788400
Why wouldn't you? Force your opponent to spend more resources and waste their clock
>>47788418

And i have a game tommorow.
>>47788241
Though since Hakaar doesn't spawn a kovaas and can't get souls from soul converter I might replace hi with a third AG and a tinker. Tinker can repair AGs.
>>47788451
rolling tough is on my clock not theirs. my opponent isn't burning "more" clock since all that has changed is his target of attack. Tough is so insignificant now to the point where it doesn't even disrupt the opponent's future attack plans anymore.
eh, just eh
In theory between freezing grip(s), the covering fire templates, and the crit dev I should be able to control most players into the dirt. With Andy piloting a colossal I can still keep the control game up and have a conquest laying down the heat.
With the feat, shatter, and the knock down spell I am able to do long range assasination or get down and dirty with the ice queen herself with a possible 17 - 19" non linear threat range.
The cav are their to clear the way of infantry, jam up enemy warjacks, contest/score objectives, and just be annoying. Magic ability 6 doesn't suck when you hit on anything not double ones.
The mechanics with the ua are there for Andy mostly. Red line, sucker, and girded keep things rolling.
He won't die to blasts, you can't just shoot him off the table, and to reliably kill him with a spell your investing 4 focus or fury. Def 15(fog of war) arm 13 with 1 or 2 focus camped. If you spend that much sorscha can come and pop your caster within reason.
I am considering dropping the Mechaniks for silly willy and a gobbler tinkerer, but I think this build is probably the best it can be. Gotta make sacrifices some where I guess.
Last of all Armory, because fuck menoth. Enjoy your crit dev effect.
If my opponent is straight up spamming jacks or beasts I bust out butcher 3.
>>47788533
Tough checks are pretty much never on your clock unless you are painfully slow or not paying attention. Git gud scrub, learn to use the clock correctly
What you think /tg/ of my eVyros
>>47788607
I've seen players flip the clock on tough checks so its on your time, especially if playing against trollbloods. Forcing 20 plus tough checks really eats away at a clock even if the opponent isn't being a doucher, in a deathclock environment,
>>47788636
Ret is bad and you should feel bad.
>>47788607
it's pretty standard to autoflip the tough rolls to the roller's clock.
git gud scrub, learn to use the clock correctly
>>47788607
Clocks should be changed the moment you aren't doing anything and your opponent is. This includes tough checks and your opponent measuring in a way that could interrupt your movement or measuring.
It takes longer to change the clock to your opponent and back than it does to make the tough roll
>>47788667
>>47788662
>>47788644
Only if you let your opponent bully you about it. Tough checks take a fraction of a second, don't let some dude push your little bitch ass around. If they are clocking to you like that you best make damn sure you clock to them for every little thing because Tough checks should not take that long
Git gud scrublords, don't waste time fucking around looking for dice and pay attention.
This guy gets it >>47788687
People switching the clock to you for tough checks is dirty tactic used to try ad burn your clock. It's a dick move, don't let them do it. Unless you're painfully slow it should never happen.
Source: I am an EO
>>47788687
Doesn't matter, you roll the clock over and it will burn the tough player's clock
>>47788738
then you are doing it wrong then. please run your events properly
>>47788652
I played Ret before Thane, Issy and Imperatus!
I earned the right to play Ret!
>>47788770
No, you're being a dick or you are slow. It will litterally burn more of your clock to switch back and forth like an ass than it will to just roll the dice. How long does it take you? Don't be a dick and don't be a little bitch about it.
>>47788834
Never timed, it's still irrelevant. Clocks will be flipped
>>47788856
Then you're going to have a bad time assuming the tough player doesn't suck. It wastes more of your clock than theirs.
Have fun being a jackass
>>47788902
Since I'm playing the game correctly instead of trying to get a time advantage I don't think I'm the jackass. Play correctly, more so if you are an EO as you claim.
>>47788738
For single tough checks, sure.
When I force 7-8 touch checks at once, I absolutely switch the clock over, because between rolling the dice, noting the model, picking them up, and marking once ones are now knocked down, it can be quite a bit of time.
I'm already burning clock having to roll that many attack rolls in one go, I'm not losing another minute or two for them to resolve those effects.
>>47788929
It's not playing correctly.
It says the active player *can* switch the clock. Also that they must announce it in order to switch the clock.
So you have to literally say "I'm switching the clock to you", and then switch it, for it to be legal. Which is wasting more time than the roll takes.
>>47788976
but it is playing under the rules which is the correct way to play.
>>47788957
>>47788957
Both of these are correct, though it is usually pretty rare to trigger a bunch of.l tough rolls all at once
>>47788929
You're burning your own clock anon, if you want to waste time acting like an ass that's up to you. I'm never going to stop you as an EO but you best be doing it right and then we'll all laugh about how stupid you were to burn your own clock against a faction that already takes a lot of time to play against
>>47788468
I mean gamewide. And not to be trite, but have you seen Ret and Cygnar?
>>47789054
Yes, and I will enjoy wrecking scrubs with Cygnar
>>47789022
I'm not the one playing incorrectly and throwing insults at people for playing correctly.
play correctly
>>47789195
At what point did I tell you to play incorrectly? I told you to not be a dick and that you're only hurting yourself.
>>47789301
reread the conversation then. You've obviously gotten so obsessed with insulting people that you failed to follow the conversation at all.
People say kara sloan got a day one errata but I don't see it anywhere? the only errata I see on PPs website is from mk2
>>47788138
>tfw you were saying that for years but no one wanted to admit it until MKIII hit.
Best IKRPG race for a rifleman? Even considering the unleashed races?
>>47789380
I would say that it was the last 2 years of Mkii where that picture was super relevant. I remember the pre-warder meta with relative fondness.
>>47789301
You basically pulled your dick, waved it at him, and told him "fuck you, I'm an eo ,we do what I want.".
>>47789389
I don't know the best, but I will always be very proud of my Iosan Rifleman/Soldier. Fast reload from chargen is the sex if you take the heavy rifle.
>>47789337
Clearly it was warranted because you are clearly retarded
>>47789460
More lie, I have experience running these things. You're doing it wrong
>>47789556
stop running it incorrectly then.
play correctly.
>>47789584
You have no idea what you're talking about. You are totally free to clock to your opponent for every little thing you can think about.
This however is stupid and makes you an ass. Don't do it
>>47789631
Doesn't make it incorrect way to play. It's a game, playing it correctly is important, more so if it's being played competitively for whatever reason. Play correctly.

I think the 4 extra souls and enraging the sentries is worth having beast handlers over a third guardian.
Thoughts on my Malekus list? I feel it might be too support heavy, but I dont know what to cut.
Trying to come up with a forest-themed version of the Miserable Meat Mountain.
>>47789669
I'd drop the Razor Worm for another Ancestral Guardian and max out the handlers or just take another Agonizer. Alternatively, remove the Agonizer and the Razor Worm and add in a Gladiator.
>>47789671
Do you really need Rhoven? I don't know what they do now, but I don't think they are that necessary if you are taking it for anti stealth?
>>47789761
don't you need skinwalkers if you want box spams?
>>47789788
The razor worm seems important for fury generation and spiny growthing zaal. I do have two agonizers though, so adding another one is an option.
>>47789813
Potentially, I don't like that they lost pathfinder though. It's not even really a box-spam list though. It's a "fill the objective areas with forests and laugh" list.
>>47789842
that's more "cloud city"
I do think your list has merit though.
>>47789671
Rhoven is kinda redundant with the Revelator, and I think he really wants three shooting jacks.
>>47789953
Also, my current thinking is that there's no point in taking a Hierophant until you've already maxed FA on Vassals, since you're probably going to use the extra focus from the Hierophant on shooting anyway, and the Vassal at least cures Disruption and Enliven is at least situationally useful.

So has anyone found any possible themes in their factions yet. I'd be surprised if trollbloods don't get a Northkin theme after looking through all my cards. But I don't see any others
>>47790289
Are we still talking about this?
I stopped caring a while ago dude, but ok. If you want to let people fuck you over on clock that's up to you, but don't let some dude push you around just because he's some hot shot tourneyfag
If you are that tourneyfag, stop being a dick. You're either ruining your own clock or you are deliberately trying to gain an advantage on your opponent by abusing clock switching. This will get you a warning most of the time, don't do it unless your opponent is actually slow with though checks.
Now move on your game

>>47783135
I'm honestly dissapointed with new point scale. 75pts is so much less than old 50pts and it feel really underwhelming.
>>47791431
it's because you're infantry spamming scum
>>47791447
They advertised how big stuff will be so great in the new edition. So I try to build lists around battle engines, collosals/gargantuans and juniors and they just don't come together. I'm always short on something. On the old 50 point scale I could inculde everything I needed. I could field two jacks, a journeyman with his jack, a battle engine and two units with attachments and some solos on top of that. Now I could barely squish in 2/3 of that.

>>47791502
Colossals are more expensive. Get rid of the colossals and put more heavies, your points will open up more.
>>47791502
It wasn't that hard.
>>47791624
Im MKII you would have points left for the squire, the rest of the stormblades, stormblade solo and trencher solo.
>>47791654
of course, since in MKii, you would've had points left over for not taking trenchers
>>47791671
Including the trenchers, ffs. I just feel like they should up the tournament size to 100pts and all would be dandy. It just triggers my autism immenesely, because I loved WMH over other wargames for its synergy. And synergy requires stacking, which became somewhat prohibited.
>>47791692
There are no meaningful choices to make if you can just include everything.
Soles was right; some people just don't like options
>>47791692
Prove it, build us this 50pt MK2 list that fit everything you've mentioned.
The really weird thing is, I always feel like I have way more units at 75 than I did at 50.I played Circle though, so.
>>47791692
So you have to make choices now and adjust in the new edition. I mean shit, what a concept.
>>47791741
The overall game size is bigger and due to warbeasts being mediocre in general now, the hordes armies are taking more infantry in general.
>>47791654
Just tried to make this list in forward kommander. substituted a 2pt solo for the gunmage sniper. list came out to 51 points with the charger.
My body is ready.
>>47791529
I guess, what are you trying to accomplish with this?
Because it looks like a mess to me.
>>47791744
No, you have to build an army that feels incomplete for some arbitrary reason. There was still a lot of choices. You could support jacks or infantry. You could armskew or do ranged supremacy. Various things suited various casters. Now because you can't make up for mediocre stuff with critical mass of support will be just picking things that are OP on their own (see: old warders) to fill your lists.

You fall just short of fitting that in a 3e 75pt game. Two jacks on jakes is pretty shitty, at that.
>>47791893
I don't understand your list. You talk about support but your list practically has none. What is this even supposed to prove? that you can't take an exact list as before? Yeah, no shit, it's called a new edition.
>>47791948
I actually am 26 points off, minus unspent jack points which technically sets me at 10 points off, but sacrificing effective 16 points of stuff I want on jacks I can hardly support.
>>47791951
It's supposed to prove that you could include all the fancy stuff and now the lists feel really short and bland.
>>47792009
You used pretty much the cheapest jacks possible and threw in a mess of un-synergistic models, to prove that in MK2 you had ample room to include a ton of support, BEs, and multiple jacks.
>>47792009
why the fuck do you need sentinel on jakes? why the hell are you not putting it on stryker to pad the points? It's not like you are even marshalling it under the ATGM officer.
You can build your bland list in mkiii and your assertion about not being able to take support is bullshit since your original list doesn't even contain half the support that cygnar lists should be taking.
>>47792054
>no support
>warcaster attachment, all unit and weapon attachments, solos that grant stuff to their respective units
>cheapest jacks possible
>managed to squish in both a BE AND junior at the expense of having to opt out for cheap jacks
In mkIII I could only field two thirds of this army, which means that I'm losing a lot of the "fully weaponized" stuff, like having to field units without their solos etc. except you have to make a lot of these sacrifices.
>>47792116
It doesnt contain some of the staples because it's supposed to show an all around list that fields as much of various types of stuff and everything that directly synergises with them as it can. It even contains most of the staples anyway. Just not mercs, as I assume your idea of support is op merc solos.

How can I make this work? I don't expect to be winning tournaments, it'll just be casual and friendly games. I realize I don't have a whole lot more room left to make a viable 75 point army, and IIRC using huge models in "low" point games is seen as cheese, but what should I add to have a playable 75 point army anyway? Give me a bit and I'll do a quick and dirty write up on Mother.
You've got a basic concept of a good list right there though, something to work with at least. You mostly need support.
Ran this tonight. Worked even better than I expected, and I botched support positioning on the second turn. This is going to be scary.
>>47795367
Ok, so Mother.
She's a shooting caster, and likes a big battlegroup of jacks that can shoot.
From what you've got, you've got a decent building point towards a 75 point list. Both the PA and the TEP are very good models to work with, and can form the fore of your army.
Galvanizer is less good with her, though it's not totally useless. Can be used as an arc node they need to devote real effort to killing.
Off the top of my head, I'd say something like this would work as a 75 point list. It's not really super amazing, but it's a decent well rounded list.
You goal is to use the Prime Axiom to soften up their stuff as it moves in, using Dominate and the drags to remove enemy heavies if warjacks. You want to use your TEP to kill their infantry once it gets close, though with the +2 swing mother provides, you might be able to get a heavy, or at least bang it up pretty bad.
Recips hold zones or the line for you, while your Reductors clear the jams from either your Colossal or your Recips.
Mostly build to try and use everything you've got, only thing you need to buy is a Corollary(which is essentially required for the faction) and two units of mechanics(which is something you'll use a lot of).
You can replace the Galvanizer with an Engima Foundry when you've got the cash, though with the change it's not nearly as big of a deal to do so as it might have been in Mk2.

>>47797612
I feel pretty confident with either of my lists, really.
Mother forces you to call for Spell Ward every turn or you lose two jacks with no chance at hitting back. As it stands, you straight up lose one per turn, likely two anyways given their defensive stats. Sure, you can Enliven, but that's only going to do so much, I can just kill the jacks that aren't Enlivened.
Aurora's speed means I straight up get to decide when the fight starts, which is already bad for you, but I also force you to huddle super heavily If you don't, Amon is dead, if you block my lanes, then I just jam you out of scenario. Aurora herself can also screw over your Enliven targets as well with her melee weapon, so can't depend on that.
Either way, I feel super good about the matchup.

>>47798616
A knocked down model can stand up at the start of its
next activation unless it became knocked down during its
controller’s turn. In that case it cannot stand up until its
controller’s next turn, even if it has not yet activated this
turn. A model cannot stand up during a turn it was knocked
down. Knockdown is not cumulative; a model cannot become
knocked down while it is knocked down.
pg 61, under knocked down. I bet the formatting is ass with the copy though.
>>47798623
don't have to worry about standing up, if you can't get knocked down.
>>47798661
Oh, you're using a steady jack.
Then this applies:
If a thrown model cannot be knocked down it must still
forfeit its Normal Movement or Combat Action if it activates
later in a turn in which it was thrown.
Page 35, being thrown.
So you need to hit the warcaster directly so you're within 1", or run a model close enough that you can target them instead.
And make sure they don't have a heavy in the way.

The Crusaders are SPD 6 Pathfinder on my turn, and SPD 4 non-Pathfinder on your turn (Mobility is turn, not round), so if we're using Mk3-style terrain, Dominate is a 2" push if I can drop the front jacks in (fairly common) rough terrain. Even if I can't, you're still maxing out at a 4" move off of it, and on my turn I threat 10" on the jacks directly behind them.
And that's if I *let* you cast it -- which means you're bringing enough guns to warrant being afraid of, which means you're not going to be touching my jacks with them, and you're not going to have enough melee hitting power to get through two enlivens.
How do you intend to jam me with Aurora? I'm not concerned with you using her melee to stop enliven, since if you do, she just dies next turn.

Assassination seems to be most lists' answer to Amon Crusader spam, and there are plenty of lists good at it.
Did MK3 kill Guild Ball? I kinda wanna but one of those starter sets
>>47802577
Yeah I guess that's what it comes down to. Bulldoze and new Evasive are pretty nice, but comparing him to Behemoth is just so depressing.
Had good experience with the Decimator too. Broadsides is still more of a pitfall than a thing to build around, but there is something to be said for volume of fire.
>>47802399
I hear you there I ran him against a troll buddy of mine in a 'gunbattle' game with just purely ranged jacks and you can feel the difference with him. That said I think Black Ivan really only complements Hark well between his bond, field marshal and Elusive it could arguably be the fastest warjack in Khador. Though I doubt I'll main Hark I can see him seeing a lot more play now especially with more jacks on the field. I feel like three ranged attackers is about the sweet spot for him, though I also sometimes get frisky and run him a rager to guard his beardy ass and make Iron sentinel worth it.

Not sure if I want to try to fit in Zuriel instead of Carny...
Is anyone else trying to make Rhyas work? Or is the Legion kick in the nads making everyone search for the new OP?
Does anyone else miss the quotes that Mk2 cards had?
>>47803255
Yeah I do too :(
>>47803235
I'm hoping on the Beth train once I get some swordsmen.
I think I'll still run eAbby and pThags as my go to casters after what they did to Saeryn and eVayl.
>>47803255
i definitely do
>>47803080
Yes and no. Mkiii is killing everything for now since it is shiny.
>>47803080
Guild Ball is still going super strong in my area.
...Like super.I'm still digging GB as my main game but MKIII reignited my drive to try WMH again.
>>47803687Got any intro videos for Guild Ball?
>>47803687
My local group won't touch GB :(
Anyone know the number of cards in the new Khador deck? I'm ordering mine, and I need sleeves for 'em.
>>47803872
>Not ordering two decks so you don't need to flip cards over in their sleeves to see the back
>>47803235
I have a Nephalim Protector on her. DEF 18 = Riposte for days.
She ALWAYS wants a Succubus for the free upkeep. You can do some stupid hilarious jankyness with the Throne and Rhyas's feat of you have the space to land it (charge at a heavy for 8", 4" reach, teleport B2B for another 2", attack things behind it for another 5" due to base size and 4" reach makes a total of something like 23" threat range).
I like taking Raptors with her because putting Occulation on them is funny and a Witch Doctor to tag along with the swordsmen. Never been a fan of Ogrun with her honestly, but I never played her in theme cuz I'm a retard.
>>47803872
I'd say about 150.
The entitlement of warmachine players is fucking astounding
>waaah they're releasing theme books why do we have to pay for rules
>waaah we have to buy mark 3 rules for warroom even though we bought the last edition's rules
>waaah my faction was nerfed and I'm going to be really vocal even though every faction was nerfed
>waaah I don't want pigs in my gators, why is PP giving me options these options make gators suck
>>47803995
Shut the fuck up I play Skorne I have every right to complain about nerfs.
>>47803995
so... bait or retard?
>>47804006
You're the only one with the right to complain. Skorne players, that is. Why nerf what is already shit?
>>47804011
You're talking about yourself I assume?
>>47804021
Bait, then.
>>47803995
Rude.
>>47804006
>waaah we have to pay to charge now and our warbeasts have the same amount fury as everyone else now
C'mon.
>>47804032
You're actually just retarded.
>>47804055
Even with 5 fury beasts that hit like trucks we were still the worst faction, so I can't see your point.
>>47803904
...What
>>47803930
jeez, that's a fair few.
>get my Magnus 2 and Nemo 3 Jack lists ready for game night
>realize I don't have space in my bag for 14 warjacks
>>47804104
>>47804104
Minions were the worst.
Arguably Cyriss because after a year everyone knew what they did and they had no surprises.
Trolls and Khador would definitly argue with you.
I know a guy who thought Cryx were terrible.
Cygnar and Ret in the American meta would also claim to be terrible.
I think what we're learning here is that how bad a faction is depends on the meta, players and opinions.

The Mother list.
Designed to remove 2 heavies a turn at range, which is can absolutely do.
I'm using Dominate to put extra damage on the jacks and to set up drags, this is why you have to call no spells every single turn. And recall that I have magic weapon on a stick, you can't stop me from shooting you. Mother and her two Monitors put a POW17 plus two POW15s into a jack, all boosted, and the 15s have Crit Brutal as well, so that can be anywhere from 21.5 to 28.5 damage on average a turn.
5 followup shots into the same jack from the PA on average does 5 more damage, killing it.
As for the PA itself, it just positions itself to drag two models a turn, with Dominate to do so, if you let me. the trick to enliven is that it triggers on the drag gun damaging you, so you need to make a SPD4, out of activation movement to avoid the drag, because you need to place yourself where the drag won't happen. Sure, it's possible, but it's much harder than you think, and if you're putting them in rough terrain, that's even better for me.
If the PA gets it's two jacks, it's likely a harmed and a not harmed one. So you've got a damage on each, and then he punches them. So that's 10 damage on the harmed jack, and 12 on the unharmed one. I can kill the harmed jack with bought attacks, though if I get most of his still I likely just leave him alone and focus on the other one, attempting to cripple both.
And then a drop a servitor in the way of your other jacks to make it harder to get to me.
Like, running to engage me is about the best plan you got, but then I've got a bunch of fully loaded jacks to make attacks. And with Mother's servitors having gunflighter now, I can still get the harm off, so I most likely kill four of them.
And there's the very real issue of the fact that the lowest threat gun in the list is 18", with Mother and the Monitors having 19" and the PA having 20"
I can straight up shoot Amon to death with my feat.
Is anyone else super annoyed by the way the new warroom app links to their PDF rulebook for reference when you tap different parts? I absolutely loved the way the previous app just popped up the rule in question quickly and concisely. The PDF isn't even in a great reader so manipulating it is painful compared to just opening it myself on my phone's PDF reader.
>>47802930
Aurora's a different ballgame.
On paper she doesn't have the armor cracking to kill all the warjacks, but again, that isn't my plan. Big thing is, I'm faster than you are, though not by too much, and I can spread out enough that I limit your ability to kill shit with your jacks.
But importantly, if you leave Amon at all open, I just feat and my entire army flies over your warjacks and kills him. The only way you have to stop this is to have a bunch of warjacks clustered around him, at which point, as I said, I just jam you out and start scoring points. And as my feat doesn't actually extend my threat range or do anything either, I can absolutely hold it in reserve to threat that assassination all game long.
The artillery pieces are annoying, I likely have to devote my angels to hunting them down. Still, having them in the back can be mighty useful.
But if I had a choice, I would drop Mother instead of Aurora, though what your other list is would be a big decider.
Between Admo and her feat, Aurora's plenty tough to actually catch.
>>47805025
Yes the PDF reader is shit tier awful quality, and obnoxious usability with a small phone since you have to zoom the fuck in to read it. The plaintext rules of WR1 was great because it was fast and if I recall you could tap a paragraph to get a list of its related topics too. Hopefully the PDF reader was a stopgap to get the app out the door because it's a colossal fucking step back from what is otherwise a general improvement.
>>47805025
I think it saves them having to avoid getting shit wrong from the book, but yea, it's stupid.
Their reader is absolute trash. What I've been doing on my pad is just using the reference to see what page I'm on, then switching to my actual reader to read the stuff.
>>47804901
What's the actual list you're talking about?
With the Prime Axiom, yeah, I'm dropping Shielding every turn so you can't drag -- being B2B with a fortified jack would be the plan stop it as opposed to Enliven. As I'd be hiding it behind two other jacks, you'd have to kill one ARM 19 to get LoS to the fortified jack, and then kill it at ARM 21 to get the drags off. And then it's a question of how many Optifex Directives you have, and how many I can set on fire with the Sunbursts.
I think you have the edge in an open field, but with 6-8 terrain pieces, I'm unconvinced.
I think the best player wins this matchup, not the best list.
>>47805080
Yeah, but I can still devote 3 heavies to just standing around Amon and be able to contest objectives with the other 5 while a list without great armor cracking to contest objectives.
I'm not sure you can spread out enough to both keep the jacks from winning the attrition battle on tramples *and* actually do enough damage when necessary.
Aurora I'm not scared of; Mother I think is a close match.
>>47805346
Mother list, thought without ADR.
You've only got 6 choir and 8 jacks, you can't shield them all. And if I can't arc spells onto your jacks, I damn well can arc them onto your choir.
The problem with setting my mechanics on fire and that the ones B2B with the PA can't be hurt due to the AOE4, and the other ones can just hang out even farther back. My range is damn near even to those sunburst crews as well.
>>47805405
Hard to trample this list, I'm not running that much small base stuff.
