So with the release of Unchained and D&D 5e, when can we expect the release of Pathfinder 2nd Edition?

A mass exodus to other, better systems
Because unlike WotC who actually actively tried to better their game in its later stages, Paizo is a rancid piece of fucked up filth who is so totally deluded it needs to put out of its misery

What would be some good encounters for PCs on an airship? Level doesn't matter too much for this, I just need things that could be encountered in the clouds above an ocean.

It depends on what you wanna do besides shapeshifting.

Shifters are still 3/4 casters outside of Alteration, so they can still do decent magic elsehwere. It's just down to what you want to do.

>>
>>47357410
>What the fuck, is that an image for ants?
This is obviously ant edition pfg.
Also for that dsp discussion I have to say I like pow 1 and psionics unleashed more then alot of the newer stuff.
You have stuff like the bushi, harbinger, and other just really strong initiators with really good recovery, before the strongest recovery was warlord, whom did not get as many toys as the others which helped balance it out. Alot of the feed back I gave in the pow2 play test I felt was ignored or openly mocked by the people writing the parts I critiqued. And over all pow2 feels like a huge jump in power over pow1 in my opinion. Then you have stuff like arc forge which just got silly. Overall the newer stuff lacks the polish of the older stuff.

>>
>>47357615
Why would I bother using lower level maneuvers when I can spam higher level ones?

Cost is an answer, but the faster I end fights, the less taxing it would be. It needs another reason besides "higher maneuvers cost more"
>>
>>47357619
Warlord didn't get less toys at all. Gambits are really fucking stroganoff and the class is STILL the strongest initiator by far.
>>
>>47357533
What would I use for that? I was thinking Wyvern riders, Fire Emblem style, but it would be difficult to make the riders more threatening than the mounts without making an epic level encounter.

what's the best alchemist grand discovery?
>>
>>47357702
Yes but they got less class features and less maneuvers readied, also bushi has the strongest recovery with its free action that can be applied ontop of gambits or harbinger which gets flight as a class ability in addition to swift action recovery that has no down side.
Also mystic has automatic recovery which costs no action if you have ubiquitous maneuvers.

I'm tempted to make an entire set of rules for poison creation. The current rules are abysmal, and making poisons takes too long in combination with the DCs being utterly crap.

I was thinking of the following:
-Using the dynamic item creation rules as a template http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items#TOC-Dynamic-Magic-Item-Creation
-Creating the poison will require a series of rolls of differing skill checks
-You make multiple doses of the poison at once, maybe something like the number of doses being equal to (craft alchemy ranks/10)+int mod
-Instead of perks and quirks like on the dynamic item page, if you critically succeed on the skill challenges you can do stuff like increase the number of doses you make or increase the save DC by 2
-You can also increase the save DC by 2 by choosing to raise all of the skill checks by 5. You can do this as many times as you want.

-DC to make the items will rely on the poison save DC

I was thinking, take the base save DC, subtract 10, and that can be used as a substitute for caster level?

Skill check ideas:
>You need to obtain the ingredients
>>Knowledge local
>>Sleight of hand

>Mixing the ingredients
>>Craft alchemy
>>??

>Ingredients infested
>>Heal
>>Appraise (find replacements)

Thoughts?
>>
>>47358895
No, nope. No sexualizing the megumin.

Immediate first reaction: If the doses made are equal to Craft ranks/10, why even bother in the first place? All that does is get you an extra 2 doses maximum, and the second one doesn't trigger until 20th level. If you want Craft (alchemy) to make a difference, either reduce the number, or cut that entirely and work out a better way to incorporate it.

My other concern is the matter of bookkeeping. Using poisons under this system pretty much turns into a management mini-game trying to keep track of how many doses of what poisons you have, as well as the DC increases of each dosage.

Good point. (Rank/5) + Int mod might be better. It's intended to reflect being able to know how to use the ingredients in the most efficient manner, thus gaining more of the resulting poison.

>My other concern is the matter of bookkeeping.
Another valid point. Still, I don't see how this is *much* worse than potions of cure X wounds. Sure, there's some more complexity involved, but that could be considered a tradeoff since poisons are near-useless without increasing their DCs somehow.

Paizo why do you do this to me.
>>
>>47360365
Alrighty.

This would work.

Spheres of Power can do what you want.

Destruction for her gun. Maybe Blaster Armorist. Maybe not.

Then the Warp Sphere and get Teleport Trap. You slap down a thing that when stepped on, teleports someone somewhere else. If you have Group Teleport, it can teleport one person, plus one additional person per two caster levels. Even at half CL like an Armorist, being level 10 still gets you six teleports.

You could also pick up the Creation Sphere to make stuff. You can't get turrets, but it fits the character quite well, I think.

Neat. How easy is Spheres to pick up for a neophyte? I've debated using it for a while, and while none of my players will touch 3pp even when I allow it, I'd still like to try it.

>Spheres of Power

Please no.
>>
>>47360630
Spheres is easy as hell to learn, really. CL is like BAB. Some classes get it at 3/4 or half speed. You get talents as you level. You spend those talents to unlock spheres or get more abilities in those spheres. You can spend spell points to use more powerful effects.

Less of a pain to use than vancian, and has less instances of massively powerful shit.

Just uh... ignore Conjuration and Weather.

>>47360633
Please yes.
>>
>>47360277
Poo in loo/10

Tracer would be pretty easy to make in Spheres as well, coming to think of it.

Just mix up some Warp and Time talents (Particularly Retry) and you're good to go.

Maybe Mageknight for class.
>>
>>47357332
Help me /pfg/, I'm totally new to RPGs and am looking to play in a PFS game, as that's the only thing being run at my LGS. After skimming the classes, I really liked the druid, so I went back and read it fully. It wasn't as awesome as I thought it was, but I still liked it. Now that I've started rolling it up, and Googled a few things for clarity, I'm convinced that it sucks.

The "ONE trick per adventure" is pretty bullshit, not to mention, that if your AC dies you have to wait for 6 adventures till your new AC gets all 6 tricks. And I sincerely hope I'm getting this wrong, but it seems you have to make 3 checks to see if your AC does damage. The way I understand it is that you roll the Handle or Push check, then you command it to perform an attack trick and make that check, then it makes an attack check then it finally rolls for damage, if it even gets that far.

I'm not overly impressed with the spell selection they have before they get Wild Shape either, but I guess Nature's Ally+Magic Fang might be good.

Am I completely misunderstanding the rules here, or should I make something else?
>>
>>47360673
What would you say are the best aside from alteration for somebody who'll be fighting via shapeshifting? Also what feats are good for it?
>>
>>47359888
NPCs should use PC stat blocks for a start.
>>
>>47360215

Why would barbarian musclegirls wear shirts?
>>
>>47360809
Well, Alteration itself is good, especially if you're using the stuff from the new Alteration book (Although that's still in googledoc playtest, so eh)

Aside from that, War isn't actually a bad sphere if you take the Battle Manipulation 'drawback'

It makes you unable to use Totems, but nabs you a Rally talent, and lets you Rally people within 30ft of yourself rather than them needing to be within totem range, smoothing the action economy there.

You could even take Solo Combatant, limiting you to only Rallying yourself, but getting another Rally for it.

Time is also often handy, as is Warp. Life too, if you don't have any other heal-capable people.
>>
>>47360786
First right off, since I was confused as fuck for a minute, just refer to it as a Companion. calling it an AC is confusing as fuck since that's the acronym for Armor Class.
>>
>>47360894
That's the joke. No shirt = no pounce according to the other guy.
>>
>>47360922
Do you have a link to the playtest? Also what would you suggest for a shifter? Does the makeup of the rest of the party matter in terms of those selections?
>>
>>47360786
Druids are one of the best classes in the game.

Just be sure to take Wild Spell at level 5 and you'll be fine. Yeah retraining your animal companion can be annoying, but PFS is annoying in general.
>>
>d20pfsrd updated their site to include the errata.
>RoFA, Jingasa, Sleeves and countless others ruined.

Is there any way to grab the un-errata'd versions? Paizo is utter retarded sacks of shit and I wish pfsrd weren't idiots for listening to their shit.
>>
>>47360942
>And I sincerely hope I'm getting this wrong, but it seems you have to make 3 checks to see if your AC does damage.
You only make one check to handle or push your animal, you don't have to make one check to handle/push, then another check for your specific command: the DC listed under each command is the DC to teach it to your companion, not to command them to use it. And remember, handling your companion is DC 10-12, and you gain a +4 bonus to checks made to do so, meaning that most of the time you don't have to bother rolling, you just auto-succeed.
>>
>>47360821
The opposite; NPCs aren't PCs and should follow different rules.
>>
>>47361034
Is anybody even working on a errata document that lists the before and after versions of things?
>>
>>47358246
Bushi recovery can't recover in the same round. Mystic recovery is random. Gambits (acrobatic gambit) can recover a maneuver right after using it.

>>47360982
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dUvSqJPOjCoXei1lean_sAjw2NmWonAEm47VQVSKfVo/edit

Here you go.

Also, the thing about Spheres is that people can do what they want. If you don't have a healer, anyone can be a healer. Some might be better or worse based on CL, but anyone can do it.

I made a shifter a while back, and put a bunch into Alteration, but also some Life, Warp, and Telekinesis.

Permanent Transformation is a good talent to get, since you can just slap on a good set of traits and not have to worry about it.
>>
>>47361034

This. We need a non-errata'd link
>>
>>47361157

It's going to be pretty much a crapshoot for any of the above. I would honestly try all of them, and hope you get something decent out of one of them.

Do you now have friends that would be interested in playing? That's how most people I know got into it.
>>
>>47361058

>>
>>47360786
While it's true that you have to do Handle animal check to command your animal to attack. Most table will handweave it away since it's free action to Handle Animal for Druid, this mean you can just spam it until you succeed.

Well, yeah. The thing about Alteration is pretty much you get to build your own monster and be it. Best of luck, and I hope your friend doesn't wear himself out too hard. I got a DM like that, he seems to be ill every like one in three weeks.
>>
>>47357580
That's stupid, and you're stupid for thinking so. :)

>New Subjects: A small group of indigenous intelligent creatures joins your kingdom and submits to your rule. Society and Stability increase by 1, Unrest decreases by 1, and your Treasury increases by 1d6 BP (each time you roll a 6, add the result to the total and roll again).

Daily reminder that Pathfinder is pro-immigration. Gaining new subjects is literally the single most prosperous random event in kingdom building possible, permanently increasing Stability and your Treasury and decreasing Unrest.

Houses are unnecessary in kingdom building too.

Anons, I'm working on a document to save all the pre-eratta'd content, but I'll need everyone's help

Here's what you should do:

1) Get the Ultimate Equipment Errata
>http://paizo.com/products/btpy8tmc?Pathfinder-Roleplaying-Game-Ultimate-Equipment

2) Open Internet Archive
>http://archive.org/web/

3) Go to the PFSRD
>http://www.d20pfsrd.com/

4) Find what all the errata'd content has been changed, find it on the d20pfsrd site, copypaste the link to Internet Archive's Search Bar and Find the un-eratta'd versions

5) Copy the Un-errata'd content and paste here:

Lets get to work.
>>

Rather than googledoccing it, you could volunteer to the SRD guy, and add pre-errata'd versions of things to the actual SRD pages.

Hello /pfg/, got a question regarding the Warlord's Brave gambit:
"Risk: The warlord attempts to make a successful charge attack against an opponent (if the character has the ability to make multiple attacks at the end of a charge, the initial first attack must be successful for this gambit's success).

Reward: The warlord's actions embolden his allies and sets his spirit alight with courage; the warlord and his allies gain a morale bonus to damage equal to the warlord's Charisma modifier on the next attack they make or until the warlord's next turn."

Am I correct in thinking that if a Warlord were to use this gambit and then attempt a charge successfully they would get the damage bonus on that charge's damage? Or does it only affect the next attack after the charge damage have been calculated?
>>
>>47361069
No one can recover a maneuver the same round they used it last I checked.
>>
>>47361623
Sleeping Goddess Style can. Warlord with acrobatic gambit can (can't recover a maneuver used as part of the gambit, but acrobatic is a move+swift so you don't care).
>>
>>47361620
It doesn't trigger until your charge is successful.

Once your charge is successful, it's already happened.

If you could make multiple attacks at the end of a charge, the later ones would get it though. But also, if the first misses, you can't succeed with the later ones.
>>
>>47359685

There are four melee characters in the party, and I am a 1st-level sorcerer. It seems a bit finicky, I agree.
