Can someone please give me a torrent of the Battlefleet Gothic: Armada codex? The ones online are for the video game and I want the old tabletop.
Fuck if I'm paying some spaz $150 for one.
so I've found explaining what my aspect warriors can do is actually easier if I start with the theory first, even at tournaments.
Because if I start with 'these guys can do this and then this guy does this' I wind up with people getting weirded out every time I use a special rule.
But if I go 'eldar stats are ws/bs 4, I5, guardsmen', 'exarchs are the characters, they have +1 to everything but s and t', then say 'all aspect warriors are eldar which have specail wargear, each unit has a unique special rule, and the exarch has an additional special rule that only applies to him', then people just ask 'what's his/their special rule' or nod when I say 'his/their special rule is x'.
Except warpspiders. Because their rule is stupid.
inb4 yet another thread do dominted by senstive chickfags and retarded anti-chickenfags arguing.
What were the Eldar gods? Creatures of the warp, like the chaos gods?
>>46925574
So let's say you want to intercept an enemy bomber with your fighter.
First you have to roll-off with your opponent to initiate a dogfight in the first place. Lose the roll-off, no dogfight.
Then you have to win a game of rock-paper-scissors or the bomber can end the engagement and get away.
THEN you can have a go at shooting the thing.
Whoopedeedoo.

Agree on the Ork thing. Their low leadership should only effect things about being organized, or at least not confused. Sticking around to punch things should be easy for them.

So Orks have the most varied and collesr models (pirate Orks, pyro Orks, Hard Orks, Stealth Orks, the list goes on) but they suck. Is there anyway to make them counts as that wouldn't ruin their models?
>>46925646
Going by what's written in the Liber Chaotica, they were psychic war constructs that the Eldar created under the guidance of the Old Ones. They were meant to be weapons against the Necrons and C'tan.
As the Old Ones started dying out, the Eldar gradually came to worship these psychic constructs. Eventually, these constructs evolved into Warp Gods.

They really should separate morale and discipline.
Space Marines: High Morale, Very High Discipline
Chaos Marines: High Morale, High to Low (Berserkers, Possessed, later in battle) Discipline
Orks: Morale dependent on Squad Size from low to very high, low Discipline
Eldar: Medium Morale, High Discipline
Tyranids: High Morale, Shit Discipline without Hive Mind, Perfect with
Guard: Medium Morale, Medium Discipline, both increased by different tactics (Preachers, Orders etc)
Tau: slightly below average Morale, slightly above average Discipline

And this is how the thread is going to be ruined. Here comes the apocalypse.
>>46925881
>But what are you supposed to be shooting at with the Wazbom anyway?
That'S the million dollar question. No-one knows. The smasha is meant for vehicles, the supa-shoota is for aircraft and kmk is for TEQs; while the tellyporta is multi-purpose (MCs, TEQs, characters, hordes), but thanks to its garbage range has a operational range of 6" to 12" when coupled with the KFF.
>>46925874
>"we will heroically die to a man" thing when the odds turn against them, but rather actually attempt to disengage.
Actually, the Tau do the die heroically thing a lot. One of their suit options is a detonator which was created so one of the squad may blow himself on the enemy to allow his brothers to escape. Their disengagement from unfavourable combat situation isn't due to cowardice, it's due to common sense. In-verse, dumb Imperials think of this as cowardice. Knowledgeable Imperiald do not.
If you want to see Tau bravery in action look no further than the Breacher Teams which are handed plasma shotguns and sent charging into marine filled bunkers and buildings. Getting up close and personal to marines in bloody close range combat.
The Tau should be above average morale and above average discipline.

Common Sense for them. But you're the general and you need them to tarpit those fucking terminators. I'm not saying they're cowards, I'm saying they tend to be not as fanatic to throw themselves mindlessly at an enemy when the odds are stacked against them as, say, guardsmen.
>>46926024
Yeah but how's that stalemate going for the Chaos Space Marines? Is slavery, daemons eating you because driving your vehicles makes them hungry, and dinosaurs worth it?

>>46926208
Better discipline and morale than Dark Eldar and AM, certainly.
>>46926179
>>46926082
Probably.
SOBs will have the same starting point as Harlaquins. Needing everything.
Clamppack for Canonness
Box for at least basic troops, retributiors, dominons. But they may go GK route and make it also cover Seraphims and Celestians.
So 1 box covers 3-5 units.
Exorcists / Immolator dual box
3 boxes gives them a decent mini dex spread.
>>46925395
>mfw Orks still don't have I4

I know: you shoot at whatever you want with it. Smashas might not be efficient TEQ killers, but they still have the Pen and STR to be good at it. I can also say the same for the KMK and vehicles, while the supashoota is clearly a self defense weapon for the dogfight phase that might get a lucky hit on a vehicle or TEQ every now and then.
>>46926173
Its a flier - it moves up to 36"
outflanking it wont change the fact that if it has the KFF and tellyporta blasta it can only shoot things betwen 6" and 12" away.

>>46926529
so thinking about this mora/discipline deal, I feel like at least a few checks should be against whichever is higher.
Mainly combat resolution. Possibly quite a bit more.
Intentionally falling back is discipline (different from Hit and Run as you need to regroup after this), so is anything that fucks with your brain or is tricky (like charging into shroud grenades from 30), IG orders.
Characters/commanders might also let you use discipline over moral for certain moral checks.
>>46926760
And Marines used to cost like 15 points without any grenades.
Some things have gotten cheaper and better. Some things have gotten cheaper and worse.

section of this codex introduces the Imperial Guard, explaining their bloody origins, logistical
organisation and brutal, grinding way of war. After this you will find descriptions of all the
characters, units and vehicles available to the Imperial Guard. Each unit’s entry covers its
role on the battlefield, its rules and unique skills. Furthermore, you will find full details and
rules for the weapons, armour and equipment authorised by the Departmento Munitorum, as
well as an army list that enables you to organise your Imperial Guard collection into a deadly
tabletop army. Finally, this book contains a showcase of stunning Citadel miniatures from

More from the Codex
Though they are but mortals in a galaxy of gods and monsters, the Imperial
Guard combine vast numbers, mighty armoured vehicles and good honest human
courage to win bloody victory in the Emperor’s countless wars.
In this dark and terrible age, the Imperium of Mankind is beset upon all sides by threats
beyond counting. It is the duty of the Imperial Guard to hold back this endless tide of foes.
No matter how many lives victory may cost, an Imperial Guard army will eventually grind
their foe to a bloody pulp. This book recounts the history of the Imperial Guard, from their
brutal inception amid the blood and horror of the Horus Heresy, through ten thousand years
of selfless sacrifice and constant warfare. Take command of this mighty multitude, and you
fight in defence of the Imperium itself – but remember, victory in the Emperor’s name
justifies any sacrifice, for a dutiful death is its own reward..
More:
An Imperial Guard army presents a grand spectacle. With huge numbers, overwhelming
firepower, and enough tanks to crush any opposition, the Imperial Guard appeal to those who
want to field a glorious sledgehammer of an army in defence of the Emperor’s realm.
More:
The Astra Militarum, also known as the Imperial Guard, is the largest coherent
fighting force in the galaxy. Billions of men supported by legions of heavy armour
and thundering artillery, the Imperial Guard fight a never-ending war for the
survival of Mankind. It is by their sacrifice that the Imperium has endured for ten
thousand years...

My biggest issue with fliers is how goddamn big they are, they're often of a similar size to superheavies and gargantuan creatures. It means they really dominate any medium sized table visually. I get that fighter aircraft are pretty big in real life, but it's not like 40k vehicles are working to any sort of sensible scale (there's no way you're getting 10 marines and all their kit into a rhino short of dismembering them for example). They should have slightly scaled fliers down from the start.

The Black Legion fought an entire war while being outnumbered by the Imperials and it only got worse when the Eldar popped up to bail out the Imperials. Despite all of this, the Black Legion achieved their objective in the sector and bugged out. Not totally but they got 2 and blew up the rest which all happen to be massive imperial ports and naval bases.
The 12th Black Crusade was a success. The Imperials and Eldar only prevented it from being a major success.

I believe the lore implies many of Abaddon's Black Crusades have been about fulfilling objectives.
So far, it seems he's fulfilled many of them to a certain degree over the centuries since the first Black Crusade was launched, from the acquisition of Blackstone Fortresses to the events at Pandorax and the destruction of a Naval College.

in 990 41K, the Imperium is having manpower issues and cannot support the multi-front wars.

I'd say the issue between those is less the fact that the stormhawk is loaded with guns (since the wazbom is just as loaded), and more the type of guns found on either.
The stormhawk has a bunch of very similar guns, all of them meant for engaging aircraft and light to medium vehicles.
Meanwhile, the wazbom has an anti-tank gun, two flavors of anti elite infantry template, an anti-air gun and a forcefield generator. Nothing in this setup plays nice with anything else.
And that's not even going into the differences in BS, AV, special rules and, not least, cost.

>>46929453
>The absolutely blatant heresy of giving the Wulfen loads of special toys grinds my gears as well because it indicates a lack of shame for their shitty geneseed producing such degenerate mutants.
The Wulfen is the result of the Space Wolf geneseed processes. In response to Chaos corruption and sorcery, the Space Wolf geneseed purges the Space Wolves bodies from the taint. However, if they are exposed to great amounts of Chaos corruption, the Space Wolf geneseed goes overdrive and transforms them to Wulfen. Mutants they maybe, though they are not Chaos mutants. They are loyal and pure.
>>46929390
They don't do much, that's their problem. It's one of those armies like Orks that got a 7th ed codex but a bad one.
They have great mobility and a bunch of poison attacks. They can also pack a shit load of lance weapons. what kills them is that they are so fragile that they don't survive 3 shooting phases.

The Space wolves fluff from Champs of Fenris on makes me cringe. Anything with Sven was terrible, the Wulfen were super corny, and in Champs they're literally laughing as they swat around black legion NPCs.
It's too bad, too, because there's lots of cool stuff in there. Like the Heldrake roost in the BL capital ship hangar, or the mining platforms that came alive and crawled the surface in curse of the Wulfen. It just has the ridiculous space wolf characters douching it up. I get that they're supposed to be Beowulf-esque characters with sagas and whatnot, but I think the execution was flawed.

The lore takes how the Imperium is struggling to provide manpower and resources to the multiple fronts of the Imperium. Losing tons of resources in the Gothic War was massive pain to the Imperium that it couldn't recover from.
Look at the new Tau books where the Imperium couldn't spare any titan legions for the fight or the war against the Maynarkh dynasty where the Imperials couldn't spare any forces to defeat the Necrons so they had to exterminmatus their own worlds by the dozens.

Recovered from renegades, mostly.

Faced with this prospect, Imperial strategists have recommended Exterminatus as the only tenable solution
Also (picture related). They are blowing up their own worlds en-mass instead of fighting the Necrons. Shameful display!
The Imperials at the end of the timeline cannot spare any forces to combat the Necrons, Tau, and other secondary threat out there.
10K years of the Long War has taken their toll on the Imperium. The fluff clearly shows this. The Imperium, despite what anons think, does not have infinite resources. Their bad logistics doesn't help too..

Some metal minis. What are the three in front?
>>46930133
Well they can turn up alongside the Dark Mechanicus and work alongside them.
However, I believe they're (at least the Astartes ones) considered independent of the Dark Mechanicus.
>>46930195
Don't tease me ya git.
>>46930805
Wait...are we still playing the same game here ?
>>46930805
from the left to right you have 2 servitors and an culexus assassin

The Emperor isn't a warp entity. He's a half dead psyker plugged into a psychic amp.
>>46930872
no clue what the two on the left are but the two cannon are Ork zapp guns.
>>46930872
The cannons look like goblin zap guns, the dorf and elf are something else.
>>46930735
How does exterminatus hinder necrons?
They aren't tyranids.
>>46930983
Lure them all on to a world then blow it up.
>>46930880
>>46930935
>>46930951
Thanks. That's it beside bits and unbased figures.
Good deal for $30?
>>46931045
Incredibly good deal. Lucky bastard.
>>46930997
They phase out to their ships and tomb worlds to repair. Basically, nothing was accomplished except glassing your own planet.
Looking at the difference between Chapter Master and Captain - which honestly works out better most of the time. Granted the extra wound is really nice but is +1W/+1A worth the extra points?
>>46931070
I think I want to trade off my crons for some chaos and make a traitor guard army.
>>46929962
Fists.
>>46929962
>>46931438
Hammers of Dorn.
>>46931461
They have a different colored faceplate and green eyes.
HNNNNG!

>>46926232
>>46931759
>not a picture of Magnus
I am disappoint.
>>46929293
You mean those ornaments attached to the hull that do nothing but look pretty when the marine flyer appears?
>>46932021
It's suppost to be some kind of 'bomber' with weird energy shooting guns instead of bombs, not a fighter.
>>46932376
Can a ground attack aircraft that has no bombs technically be called a bomber?
But then again this is Orks so they probably call it what they feel like.
>>46932376
This. Several times this. It has Strafing Run and Blast weapons. It's supposed to shoot ground targets, not enemy aircraft.
It's not an interceptor or a fighter. Take it for the mobile AP 2 pieplate dropper it is.
>>46929315
Orks already had AP2 large blast in their KMK mek guns (four wound minimum per gun t7 3+ armour)
and they could get five of those for 30 points less than the plane
>>46932453
Why would you ever take it over the blitz bomma
>>46932021
>>46932376
>>46932446
>>46932453
Well, if we go by >>46925553
Then the new Space Marine flyer clearly falls under Fighter, while the new Ork flyer is an Attack Flyer.
By this list, Orks actually seem to have more variety in flyers than many other races, as they have at least one of each, while other factions usually only cover 2.
Depending on how much these classifications mean anything, that could be helpful.
>>46932519
unless it gives Supa Shootas Str8 or give them all TL Rokkits I highly doubt that
>>46932498
>and they could get five of those for 30 points less than the plane
But they don't exactly have the mobility of the plane.
>>46932498
>Why would you ever take it over the blitz bomma
May be rusty on my Ork codex knowledge, but doesn't that only have two bombs that are expended once they've been used?
>>46930056
They're one of the factions I haven't played against. I thought their things were terminators, nemesis weapons, and almost every unit being psykers?
>>46932498
Maybe in case you feel like firing more than 2 blasts or don't want to randomly explode when dropping bombs?
>>46932519
>By this list, Orks actually seem to have more variety in flyers than many other races, as they have at least one of each, while other factions usually only cover 2.
And yet all of them manage to be varying shades of dog shit.
>>46932498
I never said it was good.
>>46932498
>>46932498
>Stationary artillery guns are cheaper than a fast mobile aircraft.
GEE I WONDER WHY
>>46929674
I'm actually doing wolf gaurd to run with my space wolves, it's mainly for the baneblade chasis, shits hot yo
>>46932680
>10/10/10
>Ork BS
>Blast weapons useless vs aircraft
>Smasha gun useless vs ground targets
Yeah me too
>>46931081
Ships sure but tomb world's cannot instantly phase out. Necrons still need planets otherwise the would be entirely fleet based and never bother landing anywhere.
>>46932680
>Fast mobile aircraft
>have to wait until at least turn 2 to use it
>limited firing ark
>restrictive movement
>lower ballistic skill
Yeah, I wonder why too.
>>46926082
Full release with a minidex worth of pages
>>46932849
Oh, I see. You just didn't actually bother reading any rules.
Every fucking ork release, theres always arguing about whether its good or not
If you have to argue that something is good, it probably isnt. When something is good its usually pretty apparant. There isnt some secret utility to the new ork plane, its just a confused, overpriced mess like everything else orks get.
>>46933006
>whether its good or not
I don't really look at it like that.
I look at whether or not I can find a use for it in the army.
>>46933006
Trouble is, most people so far seem to be complaining about the fact that it can't shoot other flyers or other things that indicate there's some mistunderstanding as to what it's supposed to do.
Obviously it's not overpowered or on par with top tier armies, that much is clear. The main question is whether or not it's good in an Ork army, which I think it might be.
Any word from Bay12 on how Chapter Master's reboot coming along? I just want to rest easy knowing Lord Commander Valerius will rise again and shed the blood of 4000 Khornate men.
Does anyone know a good place to get some cheap infantry models for renegades and heretics?
>>46929081
extra armour on a Rhino, are you retarded?
3 Power Mauls, really you must like tac marines tying up your unit and Warlord and 400 of your points. You realize if this guy has any lascannons tanks or artillery hit this unit it's game over.
This Templar army is gonna get BTFO by tanks. 2 leman russ and it's game over for you.
The best list my ass, This isn't amauter hour faggot.
>>46933277
sexist
>>46933598
In fairness the warping nature of Chaos can make it difficult to determine one's gender.

>>46933006
When the 6th edition Tau codex was leaked everyone universally agreed on /tg/ that the riptide was shit and wouldn't see any use.
>>46933975
Yeah but the difference is that the Riptide proved it's usefulness.
I haven't seen anything from the Ork book demonstrate anything even near that.
Other than maybe Tankbustas and Mek Gunz.
>>46929553
>They are loyal and pure.
Who's a good boy?
You're a good boy.
Yes you are.
Good boy.
Roll over and I'll rub your belly.
>>46934043
>Nothing has proved good
>except these two things
Granted it doesn't save the codex, but I meant we shouldn't count the new flyer for orks as shit until we at least see all the new rules for it and the flying phase.
>>46934043
And this is Mek Gunz on a flyer, with BS 3 and Twin-linked along with it.
While it isn't as dirt cheap as Mek Gunz are, it may yet make up for it with increased mobility to help it fire at side armor or get around cover.
AP 2 Large Blasts that can cause instant death sound very dangerous, even if they are rather short range. 3++ against missiles also helps protect it from a lot of different anti-air weapons.
It has a lot of stuff going for it. Obviously it's not going to end up Riptide tier, but I think it's better than people are giving it credit for.
Is a Cyclopia Cabal workable at all in a low point game, like 1000?
So, who else likes the Consecrators?
>>46934171
If you use it as way to get 3 extra sorcerers without taking the troops, and treat their extra power as a cute perk, then yes.
If you are relying on their power expect to be disappointed when you opponent brings lots of vehicles.
>>46930872
I know the dwarf is a reaper mini, but not sure if its Dark Legends or whatever. Used that fig for my paladin a few years back.
>>46933975
>everyone universally agreed on /tg/ that the riptide was shit and wouldn't see any use.
This is bullshit. Retards claimed it was shit then, and retards like to complain that it's not OP now. The majority of posters have never throught the Riptide was shit. From the beginning people pointed out how comically undercosted it was.
Talk me out of buying this /tg/. It seems like a good deal for imperial knights.
>>46933975
In a vacuum a riptide is good not great(at least not absurdly great). Cover ignoring marker lights MAKE Riptides GREAT AGAIN
>>46934762
It is a good deal. If you can find it at a decent discount, you're essentially paying for 1 Knight and getting a second one free, alongside the terrain.
If you can find someone to split it with, that's another good option.
I suppose a good reason not to buy it is that you don't want to be That Guy who shows up with multiple Knights to a game.
>>46934762
do it faggot, don't pussy out
>>46934762
>People buy tons of knights clearing GWs stockpile
> GW releases new updated kit either outclassing Knight kit or outright replacing it.
> tfw gw screwed you again
