This may not be relevant, but I had an idea for a character that was a male bard, whose lute was once owned by a female bard. She loved music enough that she refused to leave the mortal plane, and as a ghost agreed to sing duets with the bard while he plays.
I'd like for there to be an implied romance there,with some sadness in that as she becomes happier with the bard and less focused on music itself, she becomes more at peace and is closer and closer to moving on.

If it helps, from some of the conversations in the series, it seems like her actual human awareness comes and goes. She's been mindless before and came back to her senses for the duration of the series when we see her.
Dowman does a lot of hinting at stuff never blatantly saying it. She might be rotting to the point where she'll never come back mentally, or she might have another lucid period in the future and the voodoo's just wonky like that. I don't think he ever elaborated.
