I think you meant to say "rogues."
Nothing beats a well-seasoned unit that can get the drop on their opponents. Ends most fights before they even begin.

Both wrong. Bards are always a party, and together form a band.

Rogues, I like to mess things up horribly with them at my side.

Honestly, homogenous parties are just underrated in general. I like Wizard and Barbarian, too.

Cleric. Playing a divinely empowered can of ass-whuppin is quite a bit of fun. I'd say Paladin but they're a tad too structured for my taste.
>Least Favorite
Barbarian. I can't find a way to make them flexible and the people I find who keep playing them turn them into shitty joke characters (well, one guy had a good excuse because it was a pure camp campaign, but the others haven't got that).
>Best to be partnered with
Fighter, probably. I tend to play supportive characters, either in the form of artillery or buffs/healing, so having a frontliner is always important.

A proper Monk (Tony from Hotline, Sabin from Final Fantasy etc.).
An improper Monk (DnD monks basically).
A Monk buddy with whom you can execute complex wrestling maneuvers.
>Favorite Class
Ranger - You get a little bit of useful support magic, a pet to be your loyal friend, and you're decent in combat
>Least Favorite Class
Wizard/Sorcerer - They can be alright if they're support based, but it's obnoxious when the name of the game is "hold action until the mages handle it"
>Bast Partner
Martial/Divine Gish - Paladins and monks are loyal companions once you earn their trust and will go out of their way to assist you. They have some magic without it being stupid overpowered, and most of it is support based or strong vs a specific thing.

Just need a Palabro (fighters and barbs also welcome) to hold the line whilst I blast away, really.
>>46347624
When every character can do everything well, things get boring. Classes provide unwritten backstory to a character explaining where he came from to make the leap from commoner to adventurer and framework to grow within. The only difference between a classless system and a class system is the naming of the classes themselves.
A classless character that focuses on swordplay is still a fighter, a classless character that focuses on magic is still a wizard, and a classless character that can do everything to a point is still a bard.

I don't really have a specific favorite class or unfavorite, I more enjoy/dislike specific roles.
>Supportive Roles: I don't really like to take the spotlight in games. Healers, Buffers, and Utility classes are my favorite. Clerics, Bards, Skill Monkey Rogues, etc. It makes me feel like I'm really contributing to support my party and be lead by others.
>Frontline Roles: I hate playing the sorts of classes that are flashy and stick out. Fighter Tanks, Nuke Wizards, Druids that Wildshape into powerful creatures to rip through enemies. I always end up feeling like I should be built better and am letting my group down.
>Frontline Roles: Needless to say, having someone else take this part works best for me. Having a strong leader to support is my ideal group dynamic.
