They find their origin in the material world, the Fire Hawks, and then became one with the warp, but one of the few benign entities for mankind. Here's some of my Theories/headcanon
The Emperor and Malcadorwere actually one and the same person and malcador was actually a way for the emperor to act without actually looking like he was doing anything
The Legion of the Damnedare actually the imperium's impression of what space marines are like with the populous imprinting it upon the warp. Sort of like a version of daemons that are actually good instead of corrupting.
Cypher of the Dark AngelsIs actually "walking the spiral" so as to help the dark angels see that they have actually become what they fight against and is actively trying to make it to the dark angel fortress to return the sword to their primarch.
That's all that I remember coming up with right now. I probably have more, if I can think of it.
