How do I end a campaign?
I've been DMing a D&D game with a regular group of friends for a few years now and they've all finally hit level 20. So I've decided there's nowhere else I can take them because they've all become major powers in the game. It's time to bring this thing to a satisfying conclusion, roll the credits, and stick an epilogue onto it.
The thing is that I've NEVER ended a campaign before in all these years I've been gaming. Every single other game I've ever been apart of has always just fizzled out when people didn't show up or real life got in the way of the GM being able to GM.
Can anyone give me any advice?

Tell the players that you think the time has come to end the campaign. Suggest having a session to talk about the epilogue. If everyone wants to start over with new characters, you might do well to promise that the next campaign will be set in the same world (just a bit further into the future).

how many people are in your group?
Yes, you can find plenty of advice in the 4e DMG about epic destinies and concluding campaigns.
You're playing 4e, right? I hope you're not still playing 3.5, anon.

Have the Cylons fly their battlestar into the sun, so they'll basically end up living their lives as cavemen. Start the new campaign half a million years later.sorry, OT, but still salty.
Go download The Apocalypse Stone, OP.
