Is there a way playing traditional games would be unhealthy?

I've pulled some rough all-nighters before, but the only way I can see a game being unhealthy is if it ends up causing too much stress. And the prescription for that would be to play different traditional games, not fewer.

Yes.
Because the answer is an increase in denser types of fat in humans already seen in progress in the new generation.

Don't fatshame. Let them be fat. Let them die. Let the next generation have environmental resistance to the hazards of fat accumulation.

Well, pulling all nighters and eating shit with my friends can sure be unhealthy.
I don't have that much of a problem since I'm an architecture student, but the food that we eat is horribly unhealthy. The worst part is that one of our players is a fucking doctor and he's in charge of our drinks, usually making some really liver-killer mixtures that will either keep us awake or give us a heart attack.

Prison's not for improving peoples skills, anon. Its for punishment.
>>
>>46185447
At least in America. But that's why we have a 72% Recidivism rate.
>>
>>46185447
Hey now, it does a great job of improving their aptitude for crime.
>>
>>46185447
There are various theories for what makes punishment morally justifiable.

Rehabilitation Theory: Punishment is justified for the purpose of correcting a person, the goal should be that they leave prison a better human being. This theory is focused on the offender.
Retribution Theory: The goal of punishment is inflicting harm upon a person in proportion to the harm they themselves inflicted. This theory is focused on the system of justice itself.
Restitution Theory: Punishment is justified to the extent that it manages to undo the harm the person inflicted, a thief may have to give their profits to the wronged party, if you maim someone you pay for their surgery and therapy and any corrective technologies available. This theory is focused on the victim.

Could you imagine how insane dating fran would be?
>>
>>46179644
Thanks Obamacare.
>>
>>46185963
Not necessarily. Ideally rehabilitation should render the offender incapable of repeating the harm they previously committed. You could punish them in proportion to their wrong and undo the harm they committed without transforming them into the sort of person that wouldn't commit the crime again.

Although rehabilitation may seem like the most light-handed form of justice, this isn't always the case. Extreme forms or rehabilitative justice could keep a petty thief in prison for life if he failed to lose his propensity for thieving. Whereas the other forms would let him free after a period with the chance of committing the crime again, a rehabilitative system could use such methods as a lie detector test to keep a petty thief imprisoned indeterminately even for a minor offense.

>Hey anon, while you were asleep I surgically grafted your head onto my shoulder so we can spend more time together.
>>
>>46186086
An attempt was made.
>>
>>46186076
So what you're saying is we should make them physically incapable of committing crime. Like a thief steals we should take his hand or maybe make all criminals above a certain threshold quadruple amputees or blind and deafen them or something. See if a blind deaf person can rob a bank again or a legless armless person commit rape or assault again.
>>
>>46186514
I don't think he's saying we SHOULD do anything in particular, just explaining that most ways of dealing with crime boil down to one of three core crime-prevention philosophies
>>
>>46186514
The default assumption is that you make them psychologically uninclined to the commit the crime. If you can endow a violent offender with a significant degree of sympathy or emotional calm they'll be unlikely to commit the same crime again.

Although if this method fails there are various forks you could take, some might argue for indefinite imprisonment while one could theoretically argue for physical pacification, although I've never seen that stance adopted.

There's more to it than simply making a thief feel sufficient guilt over stealing to no longer do it however, if you can give the thief the skills and economic means that theft is no longer an attractive action you've succeeded. Of course, a kleptomaniac presents a different problem and cannot be cured by such a method.

>>She tells you that your snacks are almost as sweet as you
>>You jokingly tell her that you're a hazard to her health
>>She calls you a guilty pleasure
This sort of innuendo absolutely destroys my heartboner and my voreboner.
>>
>>46186628
Restitution can also get interesting when one begins to think of it as an arbitrated contract between the perpetrator and the victim.

Say a rather intelligent thief steals a priceless painting and they get ripped off during the exchange, the thief is later caught.

The thief could work in a prison factory or menial labor trying to repay the debt, but even if they gave 100% of their paycheck they'd never come close to paying back the full value of what they stole.

Perhaps the thief could negotiate to surrender 70% of their paycheck as a high-paying security consultant who advises museums and collectors on how to prevent such thefts from happening in the future. The thief has a higher standard of living, and by the time of his death he has paid off a significant portion of what he stole.

Evolution doesn't work like that. Fat people are not less likely to have children, and thus pass on their genes just as much as anyone else. Health complications post reproductive age are not strongly selected against, so even if there was enough selective pressure to create evolutionary change, the rate would be slow (tens of thousands of years, most likely).
>>
>>46194038

To make this clear: Yes, being obese causes health complications that kill you, but even the morbidly obese tend to live past reproductive age.
