...Well, that's what it is on paper, at least. It is primarily meant to be ``performed'' live. By using the premise of a musical performance, everyone in the audience goes silent for the duration, and when that happens, their ears adjust to the unexpectedly low volume and become hypersensitive to everything. Every dropped pen, every cough, the hum of some electronic device, even someone's odd breathing pattern--you hear it all, because you're listening. That ambient noise is, itself, the music, and why I said it consists of rests, not silence.
Depending on your preference and perspective, this is either mind-blowing art which makes you rethink what music is or pretentious hipster bullshit.
