I play Magic to play Magic, not to treat pieces of cardboard like sacred relics. The fact that these things are even expensive enough that people are expected to be upset over this is pretty ridiculous in the first place.
That said, it's pretty stupid to waste potentially thousands of dollars you could be getting from people stupid enough to pay thousands of dollars for single card (assuming this isn't a self-printed fake made specifically to fuck with people).
