old art.

new art depicts them as giant flaming heads. mork is apparently huge enough planets can fit in his jaw
>>
>>46058905
I didn't think they were space marines though
>>
>>46059835
oh shit, I missed the marine part, sorry.

That would be fun to see though! We should fluff it up sometime.
>>
>>46059850
what space marine chapter would be most likely to start worshiping gork and mork
>>
>>46059918
I'd say that a space wolf successor would be the most likely due to their borderline-pagan beliefs, but I don't think there are any more of those since the first fuckup.

Maybe an Iron hands successor? They could easily discover the joy of looting?
>>
>>46059918
One that was probably pushed to the brink of destruction deep in or space
>>
>>46058511
Good idea. I'll probably steal it. But how does it actually work? I know it's not a far stretch since, gork and mork probably don't too much of a fuck, but would they actually grant humans worshiping them any blessings?
There are these green guys from Gorka Morka, is the orklife beneficial to them?
Wouldn't humans living more savage lives and fighting a lot invoke Khorne?
>>
>>46059972
Maybe, being heretics, they've started trying to splice themselves with Orks? And gain small bonuses.
>>
>>46059947

Do the Blood Ravens have any successors?

>>
>>46060073
Fuck, we can work with this. What if the group that pushed them to the brink was the Ecclesiarchy or Inquisition? which could explain why they abandoned the Emperor for Gork and Mork.
>>
>>46059972
>>46060073

Minor mutation which gives them latent psychic connection to the WAAAGH!
>>
>>46059972
a chapter of space marines that had been left to stop an ork waaagh by themselves eventually started having to resort to lootin equipment, and as time went on adopted the ork combat strategy and culture until they went full renegade

>>
>>46060111
Could have been deemed as heretics for some minor shit like sparing some xenos or something, hunted down by the inquisition, have a fight with them, orks see how strong they are, WAAAGH in, Gork and Mork be praised in the rebuilding!

Ok, I got an idea. I wanted some kind of savages and an excuse to use pic related anyway.
I want admech allied with marines, so the obvious answer is Mentor Legion. The both go to some forbidden jungle planet, because the admech is looking for technology. Now the Marines are looking for brothers, that went rogue heart of darkness style. They find a clan of savage humans lead by a few crazy Mentor Legion marines that worship ork gods.
>>
Of course, Orks are nothing without their quickly replenishing numbers. How would this warband emulate this? Maybe the same mutation >>46060130 mentioned also causes their geneseed to shoddily replicate like ork spores, which may have been a factor in their branding as heretics?
>>
>>46060191
>sparing xenos

Cooperating with ork freebooters
>>
No warband is done without a good supply of normal renegades to use as fodder. Would the WAAAGHband call the normal 'umies grots?

>>

>>

Perfect.

What should the WAAAGHband's base be? I'm thinking a space hulk, in classic orky fashion, and as such, the inquisition wouldn't be bale to roflstomp them.
>>
>>46060510
I think they'd have a good number of ork allies, but I think a lot of Orks would see them as really weird.

They probably attract a lotta oddboys.

What was the chapter like pre-renegade? I think they should have attributed their connection to the WAAAGH as something like the SoB's faith power, only to realize the truth when they went renegade.

They should also have integrated the Orks' checker pattern into their armor colors even before they went renegade.
>>46060608
Nah! Iz Mork oi say!

They probably enjoyed big guns, raids, and respected strength above all else without being totally xenophobic (like thinking farsight is cool or something like that)

Maybe they cleared out some Genestealers from the space hulk that's now their fortress, as their first ever WAAAGH!
>>
>>46060314
Spores kinda sucks, but since they don't have to codex astartes, theoretically they don't have to adhere to the thousand marines cap, and just constantly churn out new guys along side ratling and Ogryn serfs
>>

Oh, right. I am an idiot. What worlds would they recruit from?

They're not chaos marines meaning they wouldn't have ready access to Daemon Worlds. Just general feral worlds and the like?

They probably have a homeworld where they recruit from, but they can raid and kidnap people from surrounding systems. Also, they fight with orks, and orks are pretty easy to find

Issue is, they can't just will things into working. I guess they aren't Ork-tier retarded, so they could maybe manage, but still
>>
>>46062583
>Issue is, they can't just will things into working.
Their gene defect is that they are connected to the WAAAGH!, meaning they do indeed have the Orks' gestalt field. See >>46060690
>I think they should have attributed their connection to the WAAAGH as something like the SoB's faith power, only to realize the truth when they went renegade.
>>
>>46062601
Yeah, but they shouldn't be as connected as normal orks. Their dakka still would mostly have to make sense
>>
>>46062662
True enough, though their iron hands heritage and the existence of not-meks in their ranks would make it easier.

Perhaps Fabius collaborated with corrupt Inquisitor (Radical Ordo Xenos?) in order to put the plan into motion, and the chapter's later branding of heresy was Fabius and the Inquisitor deciding it was time to move it into the next stage, knowing that they'd go Orky as a result?

These guys were a relatively newly successor chapter, which was founded to fight Orks. Their Space Hulk or whatever homeworld they use had the original source of this particular mutation. Due to poor clean-room protocols, some Ork spores managed to get intermingled with the geneseed source. Every new recruit since then has been a little bit orky. The more orky marines surround the modified recruit, the orkier they grow up to be. They don't seem to actively recruit. If one of the tainted dies on a planet, a few modified spores get released into the atmosphere. When they latch on to humans or abhumans, that host eventually feels drawn to the location of the "original" geneseed/source. They keep piloting spaceships into the existing wrekage and thus the chapter finds recruits and the space hulk grows.
