Oddly enough: The ABC here in Australia recently had a debate about that. On one side was feminists and the other side was transgender rights advocates.
Talking about the various areas where they conflict heavily. A huge one being Bathrooms. As many feminists see it as Men intruding on a woman's space and Transgender people feeling it would be creepy to NOT go in the bathroom of the gender they see themselves.
A thing that came up a decent bit in the debate is there is a significant number of feminists who don't see MtF transgender people are 'Really' female and thus oppose them talking about experiences or their own issues due to 'You are not women, you don't know how hard it REALLY is/you being allowed to be treated as a woman is a threat to what we are working for.'

If she were in a position to fire she'd probably be leaning forward and not have one foot up on that ledge, but rifles really don't kick as hard as people make 'em out to so it's pretty much entirely user choice and honestly she could probably hit a human sized target from a decent bit away standing like this. she'd take a long time between shots considering how far back she's leaning, but with a simple adjustment she'd have rounds on target reliably and quickly.

They were used primarily for hunting and due to the large surface area would cause big bleeding cuts, that caused whatever you shot at to exsanguinate faster.

That's a bearded axe anon, they're specifically designed so you can choke up behind the blade of the axe and do things like punch with it.
In any case that axe is actually way too big to swing one handed, you'd need something smaller for that, and then you (in most cases) would want to hold it closer towards the bottom of the handle.
Instead of flipping out, maybe you should realise that there's more than one technique to using an axe, and techniques for actual combat are vastly different than ones used for chopping wood.

Choking up on a hafted weapon is entirely acceptable. For one, they're way fucking easier to carry around that way. Second, shifting the centre of mass closer to the hand means you generate less force with a swing, sure, but you also can recover from swings much faster and thus have much better handling on the weapon. For a bladed weapon like an axe that isn't being used for crazy huge coup de grace shit or sneak attacks or busting through armor, this is perfectly fine, and emulates a balance of weight much more akin to a sword (albiet much shorter.)
You're just trading reach and extra momentum for speed and handling on the fly. Nothing to get in a tizzy over.
