I got something for you OP.

It doesn't do backstory, but it gives you a personality for your character to work with, and with some creativity you can create really cool and unique character minds from seemingly unrelated or conflicting emotions. It also accounts for the fact that even villains have redeeming traits and even heroes have flaws.

You want to look at Eclipse Phase. Specifically, "Transhuman", the EP player's guide.

Core eclipse phase character gen is "Spend 1000 points, fuckface". This takes ages, and leads to players not getting balanced characters as they under or over spend on some things.

The players' guide, Transhuman, averts this by introducing both "packages" which are 10% to 50% of a character's points budget, but spent wisely based on "I want to be 10, 30 or 50% This Thing", and more importantly... RANDOM ROLL LIFE-PATHS.

Roll to see where you're born in the system. Roll to see what kind of childhood you had and whether you moved around much. And so on. Also, you can die during character creation because eclipse phase has mind backups. My record is seeing a player cark it FOUR times (technically more, as one of their death events is "During the fall of earth, you keep going back suicidally to help others get out")

So yeah. Eclipse phase: Transhuman. It's also free to download legally under creative commons, because they're great like that.

and she's Kind, almost to he point of it being a problem, but she is also cruel almost as often, and is narcissistic and self absorbed, seeing those that follow a religion as idiots, and being apathetic outside of her current interest
she is also proud of herself, for all the good she does in her effort to bring happiness to all, even if she has to hurt some people horribly to do so

She's ashamed of her own personality and appearance
but is generally optomisitc for the world at large
She has a moral and code of honor
She is usually in control of her emotions and focused entirely on her chosen task
She's cowardly and tries to avoid fighting if possible
She tends to be nice so long as you're nice back to her
She loves starting new conversations and talking
and tends to be a bit outside of social norms, despite generally following laws

she also tends to count anything in a room, and name drop famous people claiming to know them well
She steals to better others or further damage them, depending on who they are
