Why did I do this? I'm a 31 year old with a career and wife and kid. I tried MTG once.and the smell from the local scene and social awkwardness made me quit. Why did I do this to myself. My wife won't play and my son is 1 year old. I'll just get drunk and play with myself.
Any of these good for introducing someone MTG? Should I return them all?

This. Decks are fun to play against because they are balanced. Teach a mate and have fun.
After that, buy 6 boosters each and make a deck. Make a deal with your friend you'll each buy a booster to tweak your deck every other week, and boom, your both playing casual MtG.
Just making a fucking blood oath not to buy singles or more packs than another, or it'll become a money game. Happened with our group and most of them quit because of it.

That's why I got the duel decks. Fuck the Standard money dump. If anything I'd play pauper or some TCG that isn't as expensive. I hate the current TCG model and the living card games are just as bad, they just release huge add-on content at a time.

The dual decks are fun, but will get old after a while. Too limited if you ask me.
There are two different routes. Like the other post said, buy some boosters and build a deck each. $20 you can have your own deck. $6-8 once every couple weeks to add on to it.
You could also buy a set of commons and uncommons from a core set for less than $30 and just play that way. Look up "limited" formats and use them as guides. You can have a new deck every time you play.

It's pretty easy to do man. Just take a set like RTR or something with factions and build two based off one of the ten guilds. It may feel closer to block constructed but just don't mix the guilds and it will be fine.

Drinking solves no problems, and causes many. If you are unhappy, look at the root cause of your problems, rather than trying to drug yourself into pretending you don't have any. Alcohol is one of the leading factors in depression and suicide. Stop drinking, and work on your life.

If you like it OP then more power to ya, but there are much better ciders out there than Smith and Forge. American Ciders tend to be universally too sweet, but If you have them in your area, I reccomend looking for Strongbow, Angry Orchard (Ginger), and Woodchuck.
