Essentially, Orks project a pseudopsychic field that effects their surroundings based on their beliefs. If, for instance, an Ork feels that the lump of metal and wood in his hand is a gun, it will be a gun. The field is limited and hard to control, but gathers strength the more Orks there are in an area. If a warband in a rok believe that the hollowed out asteroid they strapped rockets to will get them safely to a drop zone with minimal casualties, it probably will.
The drawback is that the field completely fails when something changes that orks beliefs, such as getting shot or hit really really hard. This is why the oldest and strongest Orks tend to also be the most stubborn and/or dull.
