They're a progenitor race in my setting, along with dwarves and humans. All the other races are descended somewhere down the line from those three races interbreeding with each other or monsters. Elf + Dragon led to a custom race called the Dracor, which in turn are the forebearers of Kobolds. Gnomes are distant descendants of Dwarves interbred with fae and Halflings come from Humans.

You may be better off with a Cavelier.
However there are some options if you are deadset on being a Fighter. Is 3pp allowed? If not, then go Lore Warden and buy a copy of the Weapon Master's Handbook and use stuff in there

Of course it exists.

>>44987643

Anon it depends on the type of character you create and the body type you're inclined to give them.

For example, a bard can go up to Sona-tier boobs without much problem, while I'd be hard-pressed to believe the Rogue should have anything larger than Taki from Soul Caliber. Paladins and the more knightly classes are much more individual, same with sorcerers.

But, ultimately, one must take the advice of Court Justice Potter Stewart and just remember, "I know it when I see it."

Casual.

I mean, it's okay to have limits, but it's important to know that you are using them.
>>
>>44987643
Basically if your breasts are a larger size category than you they're too big. For example, ogre sized breasts on a human. Not "breasts the size of ogre breasts", "breasts the size of literal ogres, 9' tall and 450 lbs each". Likewise, a halfling with breasts that are 6' tall and 250 pounds each are too much. They can be halfling sized (3' tall and abour 50 lbs each) though.

I always thought Taki's tits looked larger than they are due to the bodysuit. Not saying they're small, but I'm not convinced they're as big as Sona's.

Dammit, where's that chart of LoL tits so we could have an accurate ranking of which girl is the "max" a class should go.

So how's Shadowdancer?
Trying to get into a level 5 campaign as an archer fighter (first-timer and I don't really want to fuck around with spell lists).

Thinking of dipping a few levels into shadowdancer for the companion, slap a bow on him, boom a still somewhat effective bow wielding butt buddy for the price of 1bab and whatever feats I would've taken instead
>>
>>44988634
It's not very good.

Use Eldritch Guardian instead, you get a familiar that shares your feats. With the right familiar archetypes, they can wield a bow too.
>>
Hey /pfg/ I'm rolling a Psychic (occult one) for the next campaign. Have only skimmed past the spell list. Any new spells in there that are good and perhaps easily missed?

I've been invited to join a Wrath of the Righteous game, and I'm told that are into the second book. Party is a monk, pally, wizard/cleric going into mystic theurge, and the summoner that wears/is his eidolan. Party level is nine and I don't know what I'd want to play. Ideas?
>>
>>44988881
Skald, since the party seems heavy on melee. Bard if you want to be a bit more utility focused instead.
>>
>>44988881
Hellknight
>>
>>44988881
Something fairly weak, with that party. The synthesist summoner is almost-certainly the most powerful character there, and they're pretty strong but distinctly worse than the base version.

If this party chose mystic theurge and synthesist on purpose, to nerf those classes to not overshadow the monk and pally, kudos to them. That's not a bad play, and probably fits the expected power level of an AP.

But if they thought those were good choices, oh boy.

My guess is that the party could use something defender-y. Something that can keep fire off the others, provide decent in-the-thick-of-it battlefield control, and take hits.

Unfortunately, Pathfinder sucks at that. What material do you have available?

>>
>>44989074
I'll never understand why DMs are paranoid of 3PP--though, specifically, I'm referring to Dreamscarred's stuff. DSP does Pathfinder better than Paizo ever has, and probably ever will, and yet the last time I tried to get a DM to approve it, all he allowed were the Martial Training feats and only the tiniest access to maneuvers. Not even psionics or the base-class archetypes that give initiating.

What is it about that stuff that makes DMs unwilling to even read it? It's like a phobia.
>>
>>44988686
There a way to add str bonuses to attack rolls with thrown weapons? The mauler archetype can go up twice in size category indefinitely but iirc doing so shits on dex scores.

Does this mean the ceiling for rogue tits should be based on Taki, or a rogue-like character from League of Legends?

Because the suggestion in >>44988529 that the "max size" for a class should be based on their LoL or Soul Caliber equivalent (both games infamous for their different chest sizes) is starting to make an awful lot of sense.

Hey now, Soul Calibur isn't Dead or Alive. Characters like Cassandra had entirely reasonable chests, at least back in SC2 or so.

Experience I think. This Gm and I have been playing together since 2000. He introduced me to D&D with the 2nd Ed based Icewind Dale, and 3.0 on tabletop. If you recall 3.0 and 3.5 had WILDLY varying powerlevels for third party stuff.

I'll ask about third party stuff if a suggestion is made that I think will be fun to play, but if like to have something to fall back on just in case.
>>
>>44989386
Anon, that was [s]bestcalibur[/s] 3 games ago.

Sophitia is now only wearing a transparent gown and has boobs the size of her head.
>>
>>44989154

I'll look over anything my players bring to me, but the big problem I run into with 3PP is that they don't understand the difference between fluff and crunch. The game rules are written with a very particular jargon, but half the time shitty 3PPs just use whatever terms they want and confuse crunch and fluff. Obviously there are good houses like DSP that actually understand what they're doing, but so often the shitty ones just say "hey you know what would be cool..." and don't really think about the words they use, leaving the door open to conflicts when the players and I having a different interpretation of abilities.

>How big do we want then, like, legoman's style size or 'just smother me to death' tier of tits?

It should fit the character, and for me the general rule would be "can I see a woman in this profession having breasts this large and still operate at her best?"

I'm digging the idea that the general LoL analogue for a class should be the maximum they should go, which is to say Nidalee is the largest a Barbarian should be, Sona is the biggest a barbarian should be, Ahri fits with any spellcaster, Sejuani is for fighters or paladins and Riven works with the trash like rogue or ninja.
>>
>>44987643
If you have to describe the size of your characters breasts then you're already going too far in my book.

The common trap new GMs make, and one I used to fall into, is the very reasonable but very wrong assumption 'Paizo is the main company so they should be best at balance and design; if 3pp stuff was so good then why aren't they working directly for paizo? They're probably second-rate'

Acceptance of 3pp comes with the realisation that paizo has no real clue what it's doing either.
>>
>>44989819

That image has the right of it, just say the character is "busty" or "flat" and find character art that reflects this, there isn't any need to describe the measurements or constantly bring up how tight her shirt is during a session.

Hey /pfg/, at what point does a custom race get to ridiculousness, or is the general rule to disallow them on the outset?

I remembering somewhere hearing a general rule of "as long as they don't get more than Dwarves," can someone elaborate further? I've got a race I've concocted, but am curious what about Dwarves makes them super strong.
>>
>>44990092
Assuming 1pp only, unchained rogue is pretty solid.

But unless your friend is quite a bit more experienced than you sound (Or they also lurk pfg and other forums), the first wizard they build will probably make a lot of mistakes and won't outclass noncasters by that much - especially if they focus on direct damage.

Dwarves are surprisingly-powerful for a core race, and their alternate racial traits can make them actually really good for some character options.

Magus.

Frankly, nothing you make that uses a weapon will compare favorably to a wizard. The best you can do is a caster with a rapier, or possibly a 3rd party martial using PoW classes/options.
>>
>>44990092
What >>44990160 said.

I *like* Paizo's swashbuckler, because that is my most favorite archetype ever, and I think the class pulls it off to a non-zero degree.

But /pfg/ almost universally considers the swashbuckler to be bargain-basement shit tier.

The general notion is to go Unchained Rogue or one of the other hybrid classes, like Slayer.

>>
>>44990179
But what in particular makes them that way?

Because as it stands, this custom race I have gets the Human bonus feat, Improved Initiative, +2 STR & INT (or +2 DEX & INT), +3 AC, and +2 to disease, poison, and mind-affecting effects (17 RP). They were made for a setting that botched, and I'm employing it in another friend's game as a Magus. At Lv3, he had a bit going for him. I suspect though, that once enemies start swinging harder than +5, his AC buffs will start to fall off a lot. They're basically sapient constructs, with magic having turned clockwork/steam machinery into something so innately magical as to be its own life-form, complete with the need to eat/drink and susceptibility to disease and poison.

Ironically (for this discussion), they were made by dwarves in this game I'm playing in. Would they be qualifying as "stronger than dwarves" or just on the upper end of the races?
>>
>>44990212
Why does /pfg/ hate swashbuckler?
>>
>>44990577
It's locked into doing one thing (attack with one handed finesse weapons), that one thing isn't exceptionally useful (it does good damage compared to other melee characters, but that's it), and it doesn't gain any abilities that are useful besides that, and the ones it does get he gets at level 1.

It's basically gunslinger 2.0.

Because it's a pointless and weak class.
It can never out damage a Fighter, its own abilities are choked out by action economy and resource budgeting, it forced you to use one of the weakest combat styles in the game, only works with a small group of weapons unless you either waste feats ornpic equally shitty archetypes, and Charmed Life is a fucking joke.

It is almost explicitly worse at its job than a Fighter, and the Daring Champion Cavalier does its entire job except better.
>>

>The most expensive wine listed in the pfsrd is only 15 gp

Elven Absinthe is 500 gp.

As far as we know, the only censorship (AFAIK, fine) is to dialogue and to one of the underage characters getting married and having a kid.

So fifteen is the "shit-tier OP" level?

What about a race like >>44990511 ? Is that OP, or just really potent? I chose AC bumps over DR because of how AC's usefulness plummets after a certain point of the game.

Considering I want to run that race's source-setting soon, I want a race that's cool and unique to the setting/campaign but isn't "jesus christ" broken. I'm aiming for a Warforged-esque race with it.

Well somewhere around DD, diving and swimming speeds get impaired, but you'd get an equivalent bonus to staying afloat to avoid drowning.

Running with those things starts getting quite painful the larger they are, and it throws your balance off quite a bit depending on what you try to do. Giant tits CAN exist on very athletic bodies (not that I'm a living example of either) but are a hindrance in pretty much every way.
>>
>>44991039
What it is, anon, is a player made race clearly designed to be optimal, with fluff justifying optimizing, and that is clear from a mile off.
Dwarves, for example, are an outlier among the pc races, and that is not a GOOD thing to compare them to.
>>
>>44988686
Wait, do familiars get any kind of BAB or hp progression?
>>
>>44990577

A couple problems, really.

>A class billed as a "mobile fighter" falls into the exact same stand still or suck syndrome all melee martials do.
>Its save array is awful, having a weak fort AND will save despite both its parent classes having strong fort saves
>Charmed Life, its way to counteract its terrible saves, requires an immediate action to use. Meaning if you boost a save with it, you can't use deeds on your following turn, so your class features are fighting EACH OTHER instead of the enemy. Additionally, your Charmed Life runs out pretty fast, so you have a martial class that runs out of its non-regenerating resource faster than the casters do, which defeats the point of being a martial.
>It's very pidgeonholed. The class is designed around dex-based one-handed melee combat, which is paradoxically more difficult to do property than two-handed melee AND considerably weaker damage-wise.
>The class has extremely limited capabilities as a ranged fighter, which means it hates flying enemies even more than other melee specialists do.
>Prior to some errata, the Daring Champion Cavalier, an archetype introduced in the same book, is superior in basically every way.

What would a better comparison be, then? I ask because I'm wanting to be able to sit down and stat out races for people in my campaigns, should they want to play something besides the core.

Like I said, the only thing I had heard (and been able to find) prior to this was "as long as they don't outdo dwarves" without any real explanation as to what that meant. If there's a better rule of thumb, I'd be ecstatic to know so that I can base it by that.

Also, is this a bad kind of optimization? Or is it all dependent on in-game actions from there?

The biggest trap people fall into with fantasy races is to let the "schtick" overshadow everything else, making their culture rigid and one dimensional. In the real world there's pretty much no aspect of a culture that is both absolute and capable of being summed up in 1 or 2 sentences (inasmuch as any aspect of culture can be either of those things individual to begin with). Always make exceptions to the "rules" and leave room for individual agency. Also, if you aren't intimately familiar with BDSM culture (watching the porn doesn't count) it might be worthwhile to do a bit of research on that.

Alright, I have read it, and I have this to say.

It seems pretty powerful at first, and overall I say it might be more potent than a Cavelier

However, due to the Focus mechanic, and the fact the Dragons are often too big and lack most of thier magical capabilities, I'd say it's not too OP. Plus as a Martial with both limited Weapon choices and very little skill points, its hardly the most powerful thing.

Overall, due to its progressive nature, ability to cast, and the companion, I'd say that it's probably in the limbo space between Tier 4 and 3. At early levels your action economy will screw you, but at higher levels you become a combat monster, but are still limited by both your massive size and skill points.

As long as your game takes big companions into account, and your DM plays your Companion fairly, you should be fine.

Plus, you are now essentially Ash Ketchum and Charizard

>×3: The weapon deals triple damage on a critical hit.

Further, page 12 has this only to say:
>Multiplying: When you are asked to apply more than one multiplier to a roll, the multipliers are not multiplied by one another. Instead, you combine them into a single multiplier, with each extra multiple adding 1 less than its value to the first multiple. For example, if you are asked to apply a ×2 multiplier twice, the result would be ×3, not ×4.

alright, but what about doing two or more in the same turn?

Take God of the Hourglass Stance, get two full-round actions per turn.

Thanks, I thought there was a section like that but I couldn't find it when I searched past all the spells.

Are item creation feats a waste for my wizard? It's a campaign where we will be unlikely to buy much magical. I also want to play my wizard as a buffer and controller where save or die spells aren't my number one choice. Should take I spell focus type stuff instead and raise my dcs?

Definitely the second.

Had a DM tell me I can't cast Hold Person on a troll, even through it works on any and all humanoids. This really tussled my jimbos since I'd picked the spell for that exact fucking reason, and then dutifully saved it for when it would have saved me rerolling two characters, but no.

In an earlier instance, he had some extremely questionable ideas on how mummy rot is cured (wanted out lvl 6 cleric to make a DC20 CL check to even cast remove curse, which is in fact, not a conjuration (healing) spell at all.

Thoughts?

Wow. What justification, if any, did he give for either of those situations? Was it just "Because I say so?"

Go 3.5 and play a Warlock for unlimited Eldritch Blasts per day and the occasionally useful Invocation.
Otherwise, just accept that casting spells to blast shit is, well, going to cost you spells. If you feel that you absolutely need blasting power and your spell slots free for utility, invest in crafting Wands and scrolls.
