Necromancy is one of the many different branches of magic, unlike Enchantment or Evocation it is considered almost wholly evil. While most who focus on the school devoted their power to dark powers, some decided to use their skill to protect those around them even if they were hated for it.
Of course, sometimes the skill is given at random points. Sometimes a blessing and sometimes a curse of fates cruel hand. Or the gods themselves seeing a need to test the will of mankind in new and twisted ways.
Of course, where one lives influences how the gods and the art is used around them. Within Cities, in the wilds, or in dark mountain caves far from any other human beings. As humans were the greatest and only notable form of necromancers.

The hunt may take days on end, up to a proper moon cycle. A few men would go off on other yearly hunts to bring back treasures. But an aura, a natural light.
A few dark shadows lingered in the Dark hole where the aura flowed like a stream from. Stepping into it...it was unlike the rest of the mountain's stone. It was worked, smooth, and layed like bricks of a fortress.
Its first room, it's Porch of this odd lair of a thing was dark. A crystal sitting on a pedastal of worked obsidian with the light coming from that. It was no natural thing...but that of a Skull...
