According to the old lore, Humans and Eldar share at least some portion of DNA, allowing them to interbreed, due to the possible fact that they may share a similar ancestry or at least one that crossed paths, due to the Old Ones and their fuckery.

Tau are a completely separately evolved race, so interbreeing wouldn't be possible. Interfucking though totally could be.
