What projects has TG said it was going to do that have you wondering what happened? If you were the anon that said you were going to work on something, what happened?

I remember an anon about half a year ago that was posting stuff on an enchantment system where if you didnt have a special power source for the enchantment on an item the enchantment would eat away at the item itself, so you could get flaming swords at lower levels but they wouldnt last long.

Anyone know what happened to that as an example?

Or how Disney Villain Victorious fell off the map.

DVV hit a point where there really wasn't a point in making threads any more, the system was set in stone, the game worlds - Six of them - had been thoroughly fleshed out and every major NPC was created. Noone was willing to take the project to the next level and take personal responsibility for directing the beta tests and fine-tuning, so it's been slowly being worked on by a group on IRC and other mediums.

Most projects on /tg/ get off the board eventually because they require constant tweaks, or because it goes from the public response period to a smaller team to make a book-like thing work out, and to speed up the beta testing and otherwise.

I think he was fine, actually he was the best part of it. I think we just made way too many gods and had them all interweave. If you look at the Greek or Roman mythologies, yes, there were lots of small gods, but there was a relatively small core of gods in charge of shit, and we never got that going, which made it confusing. Honestly, part of the reason I kept my guy so aloof and stuck to scions that did not have complex backstories is because that mess got too confusing, so I ignored a lot of the crap. If we had just focused on internal consistencies, and stopped making redundant gods we might still be going.

why can't I upload PDFs? https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-JeQd4atb7vblQycFJ0V2tXTnM/view

Goal was to make a faster paced, fairly open ended system that was based on humanoid statistics for it's balancing across various systems, like medieval, modern, future ect

I like it right up until the last few threads. I feel like between all the little factions, and shit things just got out of hand and suddenly we were speeding along to an advanced society that didn't really jive with the themes of the setting as laid out by past work. I mean we had a thriving industry in less than a year when in 008 and the others it took twice that long just to make sure dying of dysentery wasn't going to be a very real and likely option.

I'm finally out of my New Year's hangover, and I've looked up the 1d4chan namedrops in the thread.

>a paradise only for those who know how to break systems over their laps

Yes. There's a bazillion and one things to bitch about it, and I've made a long rant about one of the things.

Yes. The original is very vague, and was meant to run in RISUS. Very gentleman's agreement-reliant to not break shit. I know another anon was quietly expanding the clusterfuck of the google docs. Yes, I've read kind of the same reaction to JumpchainCYOA. Frankly most people would be satisfied with Jumpchain.

I've reworked Editors from the ground up, threw out all the freeform RP material, and made lots of nerfs, mostly related to worldbuilding. Then I made workarounds to avoid the problematic things in it that /tg/ gets pissy over. With my progress, I'm supposed to run a campaign in a few days. First story is KIND OF an origin story for one of the setting elements, very low-key.

You need to understand that this is /tg/ here, when feedback was requested literally EVERYONE's main problem was that how come humans have disappeared. Every thread every discussion posters went beck to this basic starting point. That humans shouldn't have disappeared and that there should be humans left and then the HFY worshippers wanted the humans to be literal gods to the kemo people that asleep in stasis but wake up and take back control of the earth and destroy the whole setting.

This was the point that has been criticized and poked holes at all the time.

agreed, I went farther down the timeline partly to re-establish this feeling and also to not step on toes. Things from around the first decades will be treated as half remembered as, at this point in 'my lenore' there's been tons of information lost not only due to inclement weather/bad luck but several revolts at the /tg/ level, one new pretty aggressive but also willfully ignorant religion developing in the form of Earth worship(a highly romanticized form at least) and several other minor hiccups resulting in a lower base level techline than what I feel a lot of people were driving towards. Guns are by no means common topping out with the exception of one cult up around where /k/ was at the musket or more rarely yet breech-loader level. But, I am working on incorporating stuff from the threads as well. A group known as the Fedahn are basically Fedoran Revivalists that firmly believe that their society was stripped of what potential it had in the 'Radio-war' and want to have a go at it again. Cadia has become the Kaidan a meritoocracy on steroids that controls the Coastal lowlands between /b/ and /tg/ and the Anonomii which are vast nomadic cult/culture where /b/ is that refuse the concept of having a name.

The valkyria chronicles RPG was actually pretty good and he didn't finish it, such a massive disappointment. Then we have the To-aru RPG which was also good but not finished, GOOD GOING TG

I like to think the whole Fedoran empire was just wartime propaganda and in reality, they were just another group we didn't get along with and had a few skirmish battles with before clearer heads prevailed.

Still rooting for this.

I've gotta head to work soon sadly but, I'll be back on later today and might start putting some solid information into a word doc or PDF(as I cannot into google docs) if anyones still interested in it after that spiel. I'll also add two mechanical changes I'm adding to Kartharsys this being a measurable 'wellbeing' a stat based off of bod and psyche that represents in general how well fed and rested you are. Cooking/staying in good quarters/not eating mossbread will heal it. And also weapon repair rules.

I like it, definitely a well done setting.

Would make a lot more sense. It's just it seemed to be played straight in thread.

I always would've liked one of the boards to go full on Venetian and become a merchant state. But that's just my own fantasy.

Heh..funny you say that. /k/,/trv/ and several other boards go on to form a cult known as the Kventri. They basically view the only way to impose order on the wilderness is via trade with Settlers(everyone not in a major faction). To them wealth and private endeavors are how one earns prestige and by financing road building and schools and other such things by their own pocket they show off their wealth, which is measured in brass and cold 'rounds' a currency designed to look like a bullet.

This leaves them a little at odds with the Guilders, the eventual form that the confeds Guilds/central supply/citizen worker mindset led too. The Guilders though they have a currency strongly believe that order comes first and money later. Both sides are trying to make a civilization in their image and for now are eyeing each other warily and hemming and hawing.

In between the two are the Terahnists, a religious movement that formed somewhere in the past hundred or so years and claimed around where Butter-root keep would be along with a few dozen smaller settlements at the time. When they did this they very, very, very thoroughly went through and removed whatever information of Earth they didn't consider 'canon' leading to huge upsets in record keeping. Terahnism isn't well fleshed out yet but its by and large focused on Earth worship. Each rank defined by a planet from 'Holy Sol'. The Guilders and Kventri consider them something of a hassle as they intterupt trade by sitting on the only really accessible routes north and south for the two and imposing strict tariffs and concessions on what can be brought into their lands.

I've heard very little but I already love it. Consider me more than interested.

Alright, if there's more of you out there let me know. I'll likely post a thread later today(17:00 Eastern standard or so). Where I'll open up regions and cults to discussion as well as begin delving into actual mechanics.

Not sure how much it really counts but i miss when we used to go somewhere with evolution games.

Recently there's been a weird habit of starting a new one every weekend, which never passes the "multicolored noodles" phase enough to start world building or get cool.
>>
>>44519029
Evo games need a dedicated playerbase for them to get beyond that stage, and get full on worldbuilding going.

Wasn't Nightlight based off The Stuff of Legend?
>>
>>44498893
Lots of people didnt bother to be consistant with previous lore and wanted their mary sue insert. It was weird.

In the end it became vauge because no one nailed it down to a system nor a setting (there was a very crude map, little else).

Personally I'd love to see Deus Volt resurrected some day

The major issue was continuity. After having agreed to continuity, most of the contributors then proceeded to passively ignore what other people were doing. Those that did pay attention to the rest of the project became short-tempered.

There were also major issues with people who had signed on to "fix" things about 40k and make it more realistic.

Only if it came under the banner "Disregard the continuity" and realism was just one narrative in an utterly confused mess.

Does anyone have any tips for making something with /tg/?
>>
>>44525029
Don't
>>
>>44525748
What separates the good /tg/ gets shit done from the bad?
>>
>>44526005
Projects coming to 'fruition' have one person/ a small group taking things into their hands and getting shit done. /tg/ is useful as a brainstorming place/testboard.
>>
>>44526005
How hard you shill it as "good". DVV was shit, do was Hector Heresay, Warhammer High, Harem Knights, Lilium, Reasonable Marines, Editors, etc, but people still attempt to claim otherwise
>>
>>44526212
I'm not sure that anyone really talks up Hektor Heresy as all that good. There were some good ideas in there (which is true for a lot of /tg/ projects) but the thing was horribly organised, incomplete even according to its minimal ambition, and some of the writing was absolutely dire.

And I was involved in the thing for most of its life.
