How would you go about playing a symbiote as a character? Like I would assume that the sym is considered a separate entity than the character "wearing" it, or would you say that the sym is the character?

OP here, Gathering pics because I plan on playing a Synthesist as my next character.
RP wise I plan to play them as separate characters with the Sym being the "real character". In the early levels the host will be downright frightened of merging and will take every effort to avoid it. Later on he'll probably grow to like it until the Symbiote completely overtakes his personality and the host will constantly be making bluff rolls when he isnt wearing his monster suit.
It doesnt seem like much fun at first but I'm hoping the intereactions with npc "witnesses" will make things worthwhile.

Because it's not opinion, the d20 chassis Paizo uses is an objectively broken system mechanically, and it's been proven for the last 10 years.
Paizo has had opportunities to do something about it, and has repeatedly chosen not to, often repeating the same mistakes of previous games. Call it what you want, but you will still be wrong.
