Would weaponized ladles be better than swords to fight fluid/slime-based creatures like water elementals?
>>
Dungeon Meshi makes it clear that the best weapon to fight a fluid-based creature is a cooking pot with a lid.

Spatulas for bug-bitches?

Only if you still have a big size advantage over them, I'd think. Human-scale insect-people are probably best murdered with hammers or maces, given their tough carapaces.

Spatulas still give intimidate bonus thanks to being so ingrained to their genetical memory, right?

How do you weaponize a ladle, exactly?

Spikes and other pointy bits.

Sharpen the spine on the scoop-side, then strike-and-scoop.
Now, I don't see how whisks can be if any use unless dealing with creamgirl.
Oh wait, disarming stuff, and wide range damage, especially if a 2h style?>>44348239
That'd just give it Menacing descriptor.

Where it fits the Battle Pan?

Wouldn't a whisk be like a large, hollow mace?
>>
>>44347749
the the hell would buy a ladle made by a knife manufacturer. I don't think you can fuck up a ladle, just that it's probably 7 times more expensive than any other ladle, for the sole purpose of having the brand names match.
>>
>>44348239
That just makes it valuable and well-crafted, especially if it menaces with spikes of something valuable.

+4 against egg elementals.

You make it MAGICAL.

In Champions Return to Norath, there's a novelty weapon called "soup's bane". Pretty much a little useless wooden spoon. Fucking awesome

...Hello new character idea.

Quicklime!

It soaks up liquids, reacts with water, and neutralizes acids. To an acid spewing creature without skin it's very dangerous. Throw it on their surface for bubbly pain or get a bunch inside them and watch them turn into steaming foam.
>>
>>44347749
No. That makes no sense.
>>
>>44357738
Does it really not?

Assume water elementals are hurt if you remove mass from their bodies.

Then, swords would do very little since they can just flow around them.

A huge fucking ladle, on the other hand, can scoop out lots of water with every swing. This hopefully kills the elemental.
>>
>>44358637
Depends on how your water elementals work.

Why would scooping out chunks of water work when slicing chunks off doesn't? You're still breaking contract with the main body, unless your water elementals reconstitute like terminator 2, in which case a ladle is only marginally better than a sword and you should be using fire to kill it.
>>

I think ladles would be the LEAST effective among the things you could use. Off the top of my head:

>torch, simple and wards off the dumb ones
>salt, also simple, also quite effective
>heated/fire sword, maximum surface area, great deal of total energy transferred
>mace-whisk. If agitation and bubbles interfere with bodily function or retention of magic, whisking them might be surprisingly effective
>sponges, although I imagine carrying these around cause a bit of problems volume-wise
>chemical powders, expensive, difficult to acquire, and not very multi-purpose, but oh so effective

laddling chunks out just doesn't make sense when there's nothing stopping them from reabsorbing them

>heated sword
>Against water elemental
You will kill yourself with it before you've even killed 2 of them.
