If you were transported to the Star Trek universe and started converting popular sci-fi franchises from our time into holodeck programs, which ones would be popular with citizens of the Federation?

40k
It would be so far removed from anything that they could imagine in their super sanitized hippie commune it would be more alien than the aliens.
Sell it as a horror story to the humans and an adventure program to the klingons.
>>44343671
Wouldn't it piss the Klingons off though? Like a universe where humanity exterminated them?
>>44343761
Just edit it to give some of the guardsmen forehead ridges when it comes time to sell it on Kronus.
>>44343480
Dwarf Fortress.
See your megaprojects in glorious 3d.
AI (artificial idiocy) dorfs.
And when the holodeck tries to kill you (again) remember that Losing is FUN
Not sure if it counts as sci-fi.
It certainly has sci-fi elements in it.
Requiem.
Now none of the other species, especially the vulcans, will ever be able to look at us the same way again.

>Implying they don't have dorf fort in the 24th century
>Implying it isn't STILL in development
>Implying it STILL isn't a resource hog
>Implying the UI has improved at all
Gonna need rollerskates in the holodeck.
>>44343480
Doctor Who is probably still going.
>>44344265
>Toady is hooked up to life support to work on Dwarf Fortress for eternity.
>>44344963
Right as the heat death of the universe rolls around, he uploads one final patch, and creates a simulation of a world so realistic and in depth that the density of the information collapses the mightiest quantum computer and shrinks in on itself, exploding to create a new universe
>>44345041
>yfw we're just all dorfs in some neckbeard's fort
>it's only a matter of time before something fun happens
Any mecha genre.
They are already used to horrible control schemes. I'm sure they could handle some mechs.
>>44344425
Dammit, you're just gonna end up somehow turning them into another portal to Hell.
>>44343480
Seinfeld
>>44345281
They already met Satan in star trek though. 'The Rollicker', to give him his proper title, was pretty ok.
I'm sure it'd work out fine.
>>44343480
System Shock
Just have to sandbox the AI so it doesn't get into the real systems.
I'm sure they'd get a kick out of Star Wars
>>44343480
Mass Effect.
The unification of the galaxy's forces to create a better society. ME has some dark shit in there too, but on the surface its bright, and that only makes the contrast all the better.
>>44343844
It is spelled Qo'noS, sir.
>>44343480
Just things from the 20th century because they're hipsters.
So basically it'll be "Being Michael Moore" the holodeck program.
"UGH ALL THIS MONEY!" +1000 pts.
"MM I LOVE THESE 20th CENTURY BOOKS/MOVIES" +20,000pts.
etc etc.
>>44349114
I'd bet Eurotruck Simulator 2 would somehow still be insanely popular.
>>44349928
They would shit all over it because it involves money and fossil fuels.
Far-left doesn't even begin to describe TNG.
>>44350021
Yeah but they'd feel smug and still secretly love it, because they always do.
>>44351039
naw, they only like the esoteric and useless shit from the 20th century.
Remember how they bitched about computers constantly? didn't even want to trust the computer to fly the ship in the episode with the energy sucking mines in the asteroid field. Picard of all people flew the ship.
>>44350021
In the Holodeck, Tom Paris spent weeks rebuilding an old sports car (he was a 20th century weeaboo). And like, everyone probably does holodeck porn. Basically, if it's in the holodeck, it can be as fucked up and non-star trek as they want.
>>44351124
Voyager wasn't as bad as TNG in all honesty.
>>44351166
>>44350021
>>44351124
No, first off because it's just super realistic make believe. That's the whole fucking point of a holodeck, making shit up.
Second, we've been shown time and time again that pre-Federation earth history is easily the most common subject matter used for holodecks, at least by the human characters. If these people got all freaked out by things outside the comfort zone of their society nobody would be making holodeck versions of shit like greek mythology or shakespeare.
You've clearly never watched the fucking show, have you?
>>44351166
>>44352584
He's right.
>>44352956
TNG's early seasons lows are worse than Voyager's lows, but Voyager's best barely reached the same level as TNG's late seasons average.
