Become The Vampire Quest 14

You run upstairs, dreading what you might discover. You can already hear shouting and growling before you reach the second floor, and when you reach the third you hear a sharp cry of pain, followed by a series of strained whimpers in time with dull, repetitive thuds. You hurry to the doorway, looking in while pulling out your phone. The sight before you freeze. You knew what you were expecting, but knowing didn't prepare you for it.

Jennifer is on the floor, robe in tatters, with a fully shifted Patrick over her. He's holding her down, with his jaws gripping the side of her neck and his claws digging into her hips as he yanks her against each brutal thrust. Jennifer thrashes weakly under him, trying to kick at him, pulling at his wrists, but Patrick doesnt let up at all, even as she shifts and her retaliation grows more violent. You step into the room slowly, taking cautious, quiet steps.

"Patrick? Hey there. Sorry to intrude, I heard some yelling, and I can't help noticing Jennifer seems pretty reluctant."

Patrick stops suddenly, releasing his hold on Jennifer and looking at you. Jennifer breaks away from him, crawling away and snarling. He seems to ignore her, his expression changing. You recognize the look though. It's the look Mark had before he attacked you in the shed, full of feral rage and lost control.

Jennifer glances at you and leaps at him, making an attempt to hold him back. She slams into him from behind, arms around his neck, but he barely reacts at first. He gives her a brief stare before howling. He grabs her by the neck and flips her off his back, swinging her up and slamming her against the floor. Jennifer stops moving, you can't even tell if she's breathing, and Patrick advances slowly. You take a slow step backwards.

"Hey, uh... I can see this is a bad time. I'll go. You look like you're upset. How about I leave you be?"
>>
I claim this first post for Jennifer.
>>
>>44122250
That's the second post.
>>
>>44122265
It's the first reply
>>
>>44122287
Doesn't change that it's the second post, and therefore without the claimed value.
>>
Patrick's eyes narrow, and he lets out a wild howl. He lunges for you, and you duck and roll out the door. You spring to your fret and see him get lodged in the doorway, but it only buys you a few precious seconds to bolt for the stairs before he bursts through. He's faster than you are, but he doesn't have his wits about him, and his next swipe goes over your head as you duck and skid to the top step.

"I feel like there's been a terrible misunderstanding!"

He takes another swing at you, and you leap over his claws before jumping down the stairs three at a time. Patrick tries to follow in a single leap and crashes into the floor right behind you, breaking his way free of the broken boards to chase you down to the first floor. You open your phone to the transformation app and duck into the kitchen, hiding behind the counter while you activate it.

The suit winds around you silently, the fit a bit better this time around. The helmet has a little extra padding, and the suit itself is form-fitting. Patrick growls, and you slowly creep around to look at him, moving out of the kitchen as he enters at the other end. He sniffs around, following your trail to where it ended, and snarls.

You glance at the stairs from your hiding spot. You can't fight Patrick head on like this. For one, he's not thinking properly, if at all. For two, he's fully shifted, and he was a big guy before. If you employ Meliora's fighting style then maybe, but even with the suit you don't know if you're quick enough. Plus there's the lack of silver. Priority one is outrunning him, and priority two is making sure Jennifer isn't dead. You take a single step towards the stairs when a soft chime fills your helmet, and Meliora's voice speaks into your ear.

"Hello, sir. Miniora version 1.2.1 fully operational. It appears you're fighting a werewolf. Initiating anti-werewolf protocols."
>>
The hands of the suit slowly take on a silvery sheen, and you examine the metal plates emerging to cover your knuckles, slowly turning into silver gauntlets.

"Anti-werewolf protocols initiated. Primary weapons engaged. Suit armor density increased to resist slashing and biting. Limb enhancements operating at optimal levels. HUD activated."

A green overlay appears in front of you, outlining Patrick's position. It might be echolocation or infrared or something. You can see he's slowly prowling the kitchen, examining cabinets and looking for you. You don't know if speaking would give you away, so you make a mental note to thank Miniora later. You wait for Patrick to open a cabinet and make some noise before making a break for the stairs.

You reach them without issue, and you look behind yourself to see if Patrick noticed you. He seems to still be checking the kitchen for you, and you sneak your way upstairs, keeping low and avoiding the broken sections of floor. You can hear jars breaking in the kitchen, and you pick up the pace before he runs out of places to look.

You find Jennifer right where you left her, in human form. The combination of Patrick's actions and her own shifting has ruined her clothes, but it makes it easy to check her injuries. You grab her blanket and wrap her up in it once you're sure her life isn't in danger. She's really light with the suit on, and you hold her carefully to avoid your silver gauntlets touching her skin.

As you head out of the room with Jennifer you hear Patrick coming up the stairs, either hunting you or to finish what he started with Jennifer. You hug her to your chest and move towards the top of the stairs. You can hear him creeping his way higher, and you brace yourself. The moment he comes into view you jump over him, landing on his back and bounding down the stairs with Jennifer. Patrick snarls and barks, turning to give chase.
>>
You head for the kitchen and skid through, setting Jennifer down before dashing out the other side to the living room. His advantage is his strength, but with the suit you're faster than he is, and the open space gives you more room to move around him. You know you won't be able to outrun him with Jennifer in tow, and if you run away he'll just go back to what he was doing. The only way to keep Jennifer safe is to put him down, as gently as you can manage. You ball your hands into fists as he advances on you, and widen your stance a bit as you lower your body.

“Last chance, Patrick. I don't want to hurt you, and I don't want you to hurt me. There's gotta be some shred of you in there, right? You don't want to do this.”

He snarls, and you nod a bit. Patrick, or at least, the man you respect as Sammy's father, has completely checked out. He probably won't even remember coming home, if Mark was any indication. He'll wake up and never remember a thing. No wonder he has no idea what he's doing wrong with Jennifer, he never remembers a thing once his instincts kick in. It's not his fault, inasmuch as it's not his fault that he loses all control of himself. You take a slow breath. First, a quick clash as a test.

You wait for him to make the first move, planning your response accordingly. A charge and a swipe or bite from him, a sidestep or duck from you, followed by a quick jab, something to test the water. He runs in and swipes, and you duck under his arm before delivering an uppercut, nailing him in the chest and backing off as he staggers. The silver gauntlets are working as intended, and your blow appeared to have an affect. Admittedly all you did was piss him off, but for a brief moment you had him on his back foot.
>>
You follow the same process a few times, watching him carefully and timing your dodges to create openings for small strikes. He's too wild and uncoordinated to land a serious hit on you, and your barrage of jabs slowly begins to take a toll. Maybe it's just prolonged exposure to silver, over and over again, weakening him by fractions. Either way, you're winning.

Then you make the stupid mistake of overextending.

Patrick catches your arm after one punch too many in a row. His grip is weaker than it should be, but it's still painful. He growls right in your face and throws you, sending you through the glass door and over the patio, landing on the ground outside after a few hard bounces and a brief roll. You lift your head and look at the patio, watching Patrick pick his way through the broken glass to avoid injury. You get to your feet as your HUD informs you that you're bruised all over. You didn't need reminding, but at least it's paying attention.

Patrick leaps from the patio and advances on you, picking up speed. He's recovering quickly now that your assault has ended, but you're all shaken up and beaten, and the tide starts to turn, the fight transforming into a stalemate. For each round of jabs you get in, he smacks you with a solid right or forces you backwards. Your body is screaming at you, your HUD is warning you that you're approaching critical condition, and Patrick still isn't down. You can see in his eyes that unyielding, feral determination. You're going to die.
>>
With his next swing you latch onto his arm, gripping tightly. He tries to bat you off with his other arm and you meet it with your hand, punching at his palm. You grit your teeth and hang on as he attempts to shake you off, bopping his face or arm whenever he tries to knock you off. It's all you can do, the only tool you have left in your kit. You hold on tightly, trying to weaken him as much as you can, aiming for a sucker punch or knockout blow each time he tries to bite you. Then, with an audible crack, you catch him in just the right spot, and he crumples. Patrick falls to the ground, limp and reverting to human form.

You fall backwards, landing on your ass and panting hard. You disengage the helmet and sit there, staring at him. He's breathing, which is a good sign, though he looks worse than when Jennifer beat him up last time. His hands and wrists will definitely be hurting for a while. You close your eyes and steady yourself, using your hemomancy to ease your bruises a bit and massage your tired muscles.

When you open your eyes you glance at Patrick before grabbing your helmet and heading back towards the house. You jump back up to the patio and head through the broken door, making your way to the kitchen. Jennifer is where you left her, and you kneel down next to her while stowing your suit away, patting her softly on the cheek. She stirs slightly and you smirk.

“Rise and shine.”

Jennifer lets out a whimper and curls up slightly, opening her eyes a fraction to look at you.

“Where is he...? What happened...?”

You gesture with your thumb towards the patio.

“Taking a nap. I got lucky.”

Jennifer nods and moves toward you, resting her head on your leg and making herself comfortable. The marks on her neck look a little better, but she's still moving clumsily.

“The pack leader is defeated... You're entitled to a prize... Take whatever you desire...”

>Rules
Same system as Become The Dragon Quest. If you don't know what that is, it's best of three d20 rolls. I name a stat that sums up what you're trying to do, and if I don't name a relevant skill, you try to fill in the blank based on what you're trying to accomplish. “Break open the door” might be Strength based, but if you've been playing baseball after school and there's a lead pipe nearby, you could apply your Baseball skill to the roll. A 20 on the die is a crit threat, and if either of the other two rolls is 20 or higher after mods, it's a critical. A crit fail is when you have two or more 1s. So far this system has worked out well enough. We'll get into combat rules as needed, but in basic terms you have wounds, not HP, and the worse the wounds, the more penalties you accrue while doing other things.

Most Important Rule:
Have fun.
>I'll take the pack. You're under new management.
>I'll take the mountain. This is my territory now.
>I'll take you. You're free of him now, and you're coming with me.
>I'll take you, but I don't want to disrupt things. Pretend like this never happened for now. We'll figure something out.
>I don't want anything. I was just trying to protect you from him.
>I'm taking Sammy. I've already got a claim on her and Mark's about to lose his, but...
>Anything you'd personally recommend I lay claim to?

And what you're proposing will literally destroy the Wolfe clan. not to mention Ruin Sammy's life just as it started to look up. Also be claiming her as our woman we're obliged to fuck her.

>>44123053
We talked to her and she said it'd do no good, we haven't tried talking to him, or even talking to them both at once.
>>
>>44123070
but are you Irish?
>>
Seeing as there's two major sides in this discussion, I want to hear the clearest and most concise reasons why Oliver would choose each path. Then if no consensus can be reached, or at least something resembling consensus, we roll. So, what would Oliver do?
>>
>>44123073
Claiming her doesn't mean fucking her, and no, it won't destroy the clan. Sammy would probably understand the situation.
>>
>>44123090
Oliver wouldn't claim her, but still get her out of there. He's already come this far, leaving would put that effort to waste.
>>
>>44123090
If oliver leaves her in this situation, Patrick will eventually kill Jennifer, then, not only have we stood aside and let abuse occur, but we have also lost our potential magic mentor, and Sammy's parents are not just estranged, but her father becomes a murderer. And from everything we've seen, it's continuously getting worse.
>>
>>44123093
>>44123121
>>44123144
All of this. Plus a reminder that Jennifer wants Oliver to dominate her mind, not her body. There's no conflict that I can see.
>>
>>44123090
He would sit Jennifer down and put off claiming anything until he could talk to Patrick when he's not off his proverbial rocker. This is a big deal and Patrick clearly doesn't know what he does when his instincts kick in. They need to talk honestly and openly. In the interim he'd find a safe place for Jennifer to stay.

>>44123093
Claiming her means claiming her as our mate. End of story. She'd no longer be the alpha female, and Patrick wouldn't be able to stand as alpha male without her, not to mention the face he'd lose to losing to a punk hunter kid. Because we're claiming Jennifer AS OUR MATE, I highly doubt Sammy would understand at all.
>>
>>44123090
It's not particularly feasible to keep her in our dorm room with Meliora and we have nowhere else.

Patrick isn't going to remember us defeating him, he won't appreciate taking his wife, and I doubt we'll manage to get on a level where we can defeat him without incredible luck anytime soon.
>>
>>44123144
>Patrick will eventually kill Jennifer
That is probably the one thing I don't think we need to worry about. This has been happening for decades.

>from everything we've seen, it's continuously getting worse.
I have seen nothing indicating or even hinting at that.
>>
>>44123090
The reason Oliver would not claim her is that doing so would effectively announce him and what he's doing (and capable of) to everyone. Not only does it invite Patrick to come and fight him again to get Jennifer back, but word spreads that some human schmuck not only fought the wolfe clan pack leader solo, but won. Without killing him.

On top of this, claiming someone has overt sexual meaning, as in claiming a mate. If we lay a claim over Jennifer, we might not be able to lay a similar claim over Sammy given the monogamous Winter Wolf lifestyle. Jennifer might be okay with breaking that, but it's highly doubtful that Samantha would be okay with her boyfriend doing THAT kind of thing with her mom, something that would be heavily implied even if we never actually did anything because of the meaning Claiming gives.

Why bother rocking the boat that much when all you have to do is talk to patrick from a position of authority?
>>
>>44123166
>>44123172
The reason Mark didn't remember was because of the golem using magic, which Oliver would have suffered from if not for our roomie's intervention.
>>
>>44123090
>Claiming her
She's ours forever as our woman
She's safe and sound

Cons
>Wolfe clan and Patrick lose lots of face
>The power bloc keeping the clan from collapsing fractures, leading to dissolution
>Sammy loses her parents and gets ntr'd by her mom
>We reveal ourselves to the world much much too soon
>The Wolfe clan are effectively useless as allies now
>>
>>44123214
It was also extremely heavily hinted that he wouldn't remember any of this in the opening series of posts. And by hinted, I mean stated.
>>
>>44123193
>I have seen nothing indicating or even hinting at that.
Read the aftermath from the last one, compare it to the current one, It's worse.
>>
>>44123239
She also stated in the first one that it's usually a lot worse, presumably such as this one, so again, no indication it's continually getting worse.
>>
>>44123230
No it wasn’t, it was just stated that he currently did not have his reason or facilities, not that he won't remember.
>>
>>44123239
That's the difference between him attempting to get her down and succeeding.
>>
>>44123249
So, leaving her on the verge of death is alright to you? I hope you never have to be responsible for an actual human life, anon.
But regardless, Oliver wouldn't leave her in that situation.
>>
>>44123090
>>44123206
Personally, I think this is good. He uses his as-yet-unstated claim as leverage to get Patrick to listen to him.
>>
>>44123251
>Patrick, or at least, the man you respect as Sammy's father, has completely checked out. He probably won't even remember coming home, if Mark was any indication. He'll wake up and never remember a thing. No wonder he has no idea what he's doing wrong with Jennifer, he never remembers a thing once his instincts kick in.
You can say "oh it's golem magic" but going by the dialogue, Oliver doesn't think so, and this is an argument about his IC thoughts, not our OOC theories.
>>
>>44123223
>Claiming her
>She's ours forever as our woman
>She's safe and sound
>She teaches us 7 other styles of magic beside blood magic.
>Sammy has both her parents alive without one of them living in constant abuse and misery.
>>
>>44123277
No, you wouldn't leave her in this situation, and are trying to assert your morality onto Oliver when how we would behave in this situation is not a defined function of his character yet.
>>
>>44123277
He also wouldn't say now you're my woman to her. especially when it'd destroy the clan's support system, fracture it to the point of being worthless, and ruin Sammy's life.
>>
>>44123308
>Sammy's boyfriend is also fucking her mom, who wants nothing to do with her dad anymore.
>>
So it seems the main arguments for claiming Jennifer are about protecting her, and the main arguments against are about sensible things like not destroying a clan full of people you like by decapitating their leadership at a critical moment. So, those against claiming Jennifer, can you come up with a way to keep her safe to end the moral dilemma? Talking to Patrick is a good start, but what other options can you come up with? Because I think not claiming her wins the debate, but if both sides can win then let's do that.
>>

>if Mark was any indication.
Except when it was mark, Mel told us he had mindwipe magic used on him.
>>
>>44123280
I like this, for several reasons. Mostly because it's clever. Risky, depending on how you play your cards, but clever.
>>
>>44123316
But it is, based on every choice and promise we've made thus far. We told jennifer we'd do what we could to get her out of this. So it's bigger than we expected? Oh well.
We already said we would.
>>
>>44123332
Set her up in the pool house of somewhere else in Wolfe territory while we give Patrick a "Romance for dummies" guide?

Maybe work on a mental blood magic spell suppressing his werewolf instincts so he can actually not be an asshole in bed?
>>
>>44123352
It's your quest, but the first 4 votes were all for it, than we devolved into an argument.
>>
>>44123352
It's a decent threat, at the least. >"Patrick, sort your shit, man, or I'll use my claim to ruin you clan. I don't wanna, but fuck's sake, this isn't okay. She's not okay. This isn't what families should do." etc.
>>
>>44123382
The first three votes for it were also the same guy.
>>
>>44123280
>>44123352
Then let's go with it. We don't actually claim Jennifer, but we leave the threat of it hanging in the air as well as leave him in the knowledge that if he doesn't make an effort, we can come back and beat him again. Even if he doesn't know just how difficult it was.
>>
>>44123392
Not true, because the third one was me, and I took the time to type out a detailed reasoning.
>>
>>44123352
Since Blood magic Affects Werewolf minds but not bodies, couldn't we try to suppress his baser instincts so it wouldn't happen again? Maybe give him a "romance for dummies" book too?
>>
>>44123388
>>44123396
But he's acting normal for a werewolf, remember? It's "normal" for him. If anything, we should suggest it to Jennifer, since she's the one who will have to suffer through the repercussions.
>>
>>44123437
Well, this is our chance to MAKE him deviate from the norm.
>>
>>44123437
Actually, he isn't. Jennifer told you that werewolf males can smell if a female genuinely wants it or not. Patrick goes so wild he either stops caring or doesn't pay attention to the signs.
>>
>>44123352
I think before we go with that, we need to ask Jennifer if she's okay with remaining in danger.

And we don't know if it'll take, since what we're doing is basically putting a "collar" on Patrick. As alpha, he's used to getting his own way or nothing at all.
>>
>>44123463
BTQM this>>44123423 accurate?
>>
>>44123342
IIRC, she only mentioned that we would've gotten mind-wiped, not that Mark would've, so it might just be that only humans that aren't supposed to be in the know get wiped and Mark forgot because instincts.

The only other explanation is that Oliver must have forgotten, or he wouldn't have thought that, making the point immaterial to the argument, as it only pertains to what is in-character for Oliver.
>>
>>44123463
>>44123468

Okay, but still. We're asking her to risk her life. The moment we leave, he could kill her to hide the fact that he lost, and just say he lost control.

We know absolutely nothing about him but that he loves his children, likes to party, and abuses his wife.

Werewolves are resistant to magic affecting the body, but have no such protection mentally, according to Jennifer
>>
>>44123506
We know he doesn't hurt her intentionally. That's all on the Beast. QM already said he doesn't remember shit when he's shifted.
I doubt he's going to kill his wife in cold blood.

ask her if she knows if there is a reason why don't remember when other werewolves do.

talk to Patrick and tell him whats going on. a couple seesions ago he went upstairs to have sex with her and got his ass kicked. when he came back, he said he doesn't know what the problem is. this is going to be a real shocker.

to convince him see if u can extract footage from the helmet during the fight. and show it to him.

find a way to help him get control over his wolf.perhaps blood magic. theres gotta be a way to tweak some genes so that he has more control

get him in private and tell him what Jennifer's fetish is. point him to some s&m porn and stuff. it should help the mairage.(optional::if he asks how we know her fetish tell the truth and tell him he had a hand in driving her away) tell him until he figures out how to control he should not have sex with her while turned

>>44123563
No, in the poll more of us were open to some form of smut than were opposed to it. The majority said it depends on the situation.

Depends on the situation means there are situations where they'd be okay with it anon, not blindly opposed. But like I said, I'm TRYING to compromise. You're just being stubborn.
>>
>>44123673
Sammy could probably be convinced if we went gradually and smoozed her well. Or we put it off until we become a vamp. we make them all blood thralls and then say that's what we want.

>>44123725
I wouldn't mind compromise. I just don't want to remove Jennifer from the situation entirely. While it'd be good for just Jennifer on a personal level, it ruins things for everyone else. There IS a better solution than taking Jennifer away from Patrick and saying 'I don't want to do this anymore.'

And before you get uppity about how your option was the diplomatic one, you and I both know that what she wants, what her input is going to be, is 'Take me out of this situation because I personally don't like it and I don't care if it makes things difficult for anyone else.'

So are we not allowed to do things differently than the other quests? I was unaware that /tg/ had laws governing what is and isn't considered acceptable roleplaying. Besides, limiting Patrick's beast as some of the other anons suggest is just as much mind fuckery. And it's not like i'm suggesting we demand they love us, just that they tolerate each other.

If she leaves the clan, the clan will collapse, because she's pretty much the only person who kept it afloat politically. Additionally Patrick will be a right mess, and the Wolfe clan will lose all it's credibility because some punk hunter kid took out the alpha and claimed his woman. Additionally we put a massive fucking target on our back and ruin Sammy's family and life because hey we're fucking her mom.
>>
You look over at the broken glass door and sigh.

"Whatever I want... Right now I mostly just want to make sure you're alright without ruining everything. I could claim you, but then the whole clan collapses. I mean, I started coming here specifically to make friends and allies. Tearing the Wolfe clan down doesn't help that at all..."

Jennifer nods slightly but remains silent, and you decide to continue.

"On the other hand, I don't want to just leave you here like this. It's just going to keep happening, right? I can't just leave you to get assaulted every time your guard is down and your mind wanders. There's gotta be a winning move..."

Jennifer gently nuzzles your thigh and opens her eyes.

"I will endure. If you take me away, I'll be happier, safer, but the clan won't last long at all. I can survive like this, like I always have. I'm touched by your concern... and I would happily accept your claim if you choose to take me from him. But you told me to reconnect with my daughter. Don't make me fear for her by shattering the force that keeps her safe at school, right after I've finally managed to open my heart to her."

You chuckle a bit and close your eyes.

"You know just what to say to twist the knife, huh."

Jennifer sits up slowly.

"I have years of practice being a cold bitch, remember? Manipulation is a talent of mine. My personal recommendation would be to let Patrick know who beat him, what your right is, and that you don't plan to exercise it. I've tried explaining what he does, but it goes right over his head. He thinks he's always in total control of himself. If you want to keep me safe without destroying the clan, carefully apply your leverage."

You get to your feet and stretch.

"I'm gonna grab the bandages and ointment. Maybe some pain killers for my muscles. Wanna get out some ice?"

Jennifer adjusts the blanket carefully, making it into a toga and standing.

"We've got icepacks in the freezer. But I won't need any, I can manage this level of injury. It's not so bad so long as I don't let my mind fixate on it. I studied self-hypnosis and meditation techniques, I can nearly turn off my sense of pain completely."

You shrug a bit and head off to get the supplies.

"Whatever works for you. I just didn't want you to get bored while I was gone."

You gather up some rolls of bandages and a tube of ointment meant for scrapes, cuts and bruises. You smear some onto the places where you got banged up the worst and feel it tingle a bit. You return to the kitchen to find Jennifer sweeping glass by the broken door. She looks over at you.

"Would you like some help with those?"

You set the bandages on the counter and sigh. You don't know how much of her tenacity is for show and how much is real, but you're not letting her injuries go untreated.

" Come here. I'm gonna patch you up."

Jennifer sets the broom aside and sits down without a word. She adjusts the toga, keeping her intimate places concealed while allowing easy access to her injuries. She glances at you, an expression you can't quite decipher, before closing her eyes and waiting. You walk over and start applying ointment here and there, bandaging her more serious injuries. She's not bleeding, at least, not anymore, but better safe than sorry. Plus wounds heal faster while covered. You read that in a book once and you're pretty sure it's not a lie.

"Thank you."

Jennifer looks you in the eye as you finish. You set the bandages aside and finish examining your own injuries.

"For what?"

Jennifer gets to her feet and hugs your side.

"For treating me like a snowflake and not a glacier."

You wait for Jennifer to get changed and take a moment to tidy up after yourself, packing away your tome and making sure all your stuff is intact and in one place. After a few minutes Jennifer comes downstairs dressed in a long skirt and a sweater, her usual heels replaced with black flats. She'd look drab and plain in them if they didn't hug her body. They're probably the plainest clothes she has, and it makes you wonder if Patrick is the one buying her outfits to show her off or if she just enjoys dressing up.

"So, ready?"

Jennifer nods a bit and you head outside, letting her trail behind you. You climb over the patio railing and help Jennifer climb down, before heading to where Patrick is. He stirs slightly on the ground, coming back to his senses slowly. You move to his side, and Jennifer positions herself behind you, a few paces away. Patrick looks up at you blearily, eyes unfocused.

That sort of undermines our position of ordering him because we won. We aren't negotiating, we're setting rules.
>>
>>44124646
>>44124675
I mean, we're doing this because we've proven that we're stronger than he is. That's literally the only reason he has to listen to what we're saying.
>>
>>44124675
It's not negotiating, it's pointing out to him how his behavior effects not just him and his wife, but the rest of his family, particularly his favorite daughter.
We've got the win, but coercing him to seeing the fault in himself help make this not something to bear a grudge over.

I dunno. Sounds weak to me. If I was in Patrick's position, I'd consider it a flaw and would be more likely to challenge again.

But what do I know? I'm just a drunk Creole who loves werewolves and werewolf lore.

Your argument to not say it sounds weak to me.

But it's not something we should be talking about during the initial talk. That's something for him to think about afterwards. We don't want him getting distracted or misunderstanding anything we say because he's too busy thinking about other things.
>>
You take a slow breath. Once, you had to chew out your own dad for being a drunk and a slob, coming in late and reeking of booze before collapsing on the couch. You later learned why, but at the time you were frustrated and let him have it. This is different though. You control your initial impulse and turn your anger at his wild side into determination to simply not back down.

"You were beaten. I caught you shifted over Jennifer, taking her against her will, and I stopped you. You told me you didn't know what you were doing wrong last night. Turns out you go completely wild and try to have your way even if she doesn't want it. You were choking her and hurting her. And that's stopping for good."

You can see the confusion spreading across Patrick's face, and he sits up.

"That's... hard to believe. Sometimes I black out, but when I shift I'm in control."

He looks to Jennifer and smiles.

"Jennifer, tell him. I don't remember, but I know I'd never-"

You can't see Jennifer's face without turning around and ruining the front you're presenting, but whatever look she just gave him, it broke his heart.

"I-I thought that... but you never..."

Jennifer's voice is so bitter and icy that you feel yourself shiver.

"If you'll recall, I used to tell you every time. You wrote it off as being a little too wild when you got drunk. Eventually I just stopped trying."

Patrick hangs his head. You feel pretty sorry for him, but you want to see this through.
>>
"Since I beat you, I have a claim I can make. I'm not going to. Not right now, anyway. I don't want to have to. For now... don't touch Jennifer unless she explicitly asks for it. I'll be coming by from time to time, and keeping in touch with her to talk about magic, so if anything happens then I'll know, and fast. If it does... I'll do what I have to do in order to keep everyone safe. Whatever that means at the time."

Patrick nods numbly. He brings his hands together, clasping them tightly.

"I... I never meant to... I'm sorry... I shouldn't have dismissed it..."

Jennifer turns and heads back towards the house, leaving you with Patrick. You don't really have much to offer him in terms of comfort, but you try anyway.

"I can't make promises, but I'm gonna do what I can to help. You guys are part of my family now. Family helps one another."

Patrick doesn't say a word, and as you walk away you can hear him start to cry. You can't imagine the weight of the guilt he must be feeling right now. Still, if you hadn't been so firm with him, if you had softened things, he might have refuted it as impossible. At least you were honest.

It's been a long day, and we're already sorta woozy from blood use. We'll start the magic lessons later.

This... seems to have mostly cooled things down. Patrick's in not state for, well, anything.

I think it will eventually involve gratuitous murder regardless. The vampire clans are going to oppose use becoming a master vamp like Dracula, so we'll probably have to subdue them.
harem end would be to just blood thrall the scion of every clan, but we've got a couple anons who get all butthurt at the idea of forced loyalty, so we'll probably have to kill them.

Oh look vampire quest, ni-
And what the fuck is going on you bumbaclarts?

We still need to show the Mark video, and respond to Meliora's Tsunstorm. Also need to work on religion with our Middle age history class.
>>
>>44126651
All true
Mark video once Patrick's calmed down to show him we want to help him expand his territory.
Meliora's fault entirely, she told us explicitly that she wasn't going to activate those sub routines and she did.
Religion is a good point, though i'd just go with some form of catholicism, nothing too complicated, plus we get to pretend to LARP and come into class covered in holy trinkets and holy water just to gauge reactions to see who in the class is what.
>>
>>44126753
Agreed, needs to be done soon.

Agreed but we still need to deal with the fallout of her choice. The fact we didn't do anything won't save us from an angry werewolf punching golem.

Agreed again.
>>
>>44126753
>once Patrick's calmed down
No, we need to give that to Jennifer. She's the one who does the pack's politicking. Stephen does the day to day business. Patrick is literally just there for the punching of things and as a figurehead.

We should also research some sort of loyalty/minion oath ritual, one that will let us know where Sammy is and if she's in danger, and vice versa, as well as protecting her from the mental whammy of vamps, ideally.

Best would be to get Sammy and Jennifer in a oath like that, so we can tell them what our goal is. even bester would be making them our familiars, as it were, so we can channel our magic through them at need, but that's probably a bit beyond us.
Just a general location/status sympathetic link would probably be the easiest for now.

We can't confide in either of them until their minds can be shielded from outside influence though. And confiding in Jennifer would probably help shorten the time it'd take to learn what we need to do.
>>
>>44127276
I just mean that Patrick should be there since waging war is his forte and the figurehead is the one who has to tell the collins' to fuck off since we have blackmail.

It's a house full of werewolves, we don't really have to be shadowrunning that hard as to never confide in anyone until we cast magic on their minds, and this is coming from shadowrun anon.
>>
>>44127347
>shadowrunning
I was talking about the whole "become a vamp and resurrect our parents" goal. As I said here>>44126063 the vamps clans are going to oppose us if they catch wind of our plans. Sammy's already been hit with their mind slap once, so we know she's vulnerable to it, and while Jennifer's stronger, and surrounded by allies, I'd rather have her oathed to us before she finds out how far we're going.
>>
>>44127391
"become a vamp and resurrect our parents"
We are owed favours and have claims, no one in the Wolfe clan especially Patrick and Jennifer are going to stop us becoming vampires. And although that is the case now, if we find an alternate method of reincarnation or find out that vampire's can't bring people back, and our mom was lying in an "i'm dying so here's a goal to get you to get your life together" way, then that will no longer be our goal.
I mean i'm expecting to become a vamp really far down the line of this quest, and if it was some mind control thing by our mom putting the idea in our head, surely at parts where we met vampires we should've been given an option of "just let them bite you" or something like that.

The vamp clans may or not oppose us becoming a vamp if we do it for their clans, we could always just jump in the spot that Vanessa left when we staked her and go from there, but we have a lot of research on vampires to do I guess.
>>
>>44127462
Angie (the angel of death, and our guardian angel) has confirmed that powerful vampires can bring dead vamps back, though the cost is high enough, and they're so selfish, that they rarely do.
Jennifer told us werewolf legend says the original vampire, Dracula, was a powerful blood mage and necromancer who created a ritual that made himself a vampire, and then when he eventually got lonely he made the 7 clans of sub-vampires to each embody one of the 7 deadly sins.
We haven't really spent any time in a non-antagonistic situation with vampires, though I doubt if just letting them bite us will get us the power we need any time soon. It's more likely that would leave us at the bottom of the food chain for centuries, and while we know that each breed of vamp have their own powers and weaknesses, we don't know what's what. It could be Dracula and his direct children are the only ones with the level of power we need.
One other thing to consider is that if we let a vamp turn us, they'll have power over us.

All in all, I feel like pursuing Dracula's ritual is the best path. We might learn how to bring them back while learning necromancy, anyway. But I figure in for a penny, in for a pound. If we're going to be doing things that might bring the wrath of heaven, hell, AND the vamp clans on us, we need allies.
That's why we've got the Wolfes as allies. We should get Sammy to smooze up Sophie Collins as well. Between her friendship and Jennifer's maneuvering, we ought to be able to get them to toe the line should shit hit the fan early.

I don't know where Meliora will fall in that, but I bet if we continue to befriend her, she'll support us.

Do you see any flaws in my reasoning? Plan for the worst, after all. And then assume it's also going to flood.
>>
>>44127667
Forgot about what Angie told us, all true.
About vamps, all true, though I very much doubt Oliver will meet dracula as the main quest line, or even do that ritual lost to time.
Like can we even revive our parents anyway? like, weren't they both taken out traditionally and turned to ash? Can we revive ash? It'll be funny if we get to the end as the new dracula and we still can't bring them back since no body and have to sell our soul or favours for devils to get them back.
Necromancy is a good step to take since it's our main aim so most IC no matter how cool the other magics are sadly.
Deffo schmooze sophie collins a bit. We could destroy the collin's clan and have her left so we still have the territory with an honorary figurehead, or somethin similar, anyway to expand wolfe territory we should do.
Continue befriending meliora, best course of action, I mean this suit tho, and this is just some shit something she had spare.
I don't see any flaws really now, just things i'm not sure will happen depending on where the QM takes the story.
