Another day of pastebins begins. However it looks like /tg/ soon lost his enthusiasm about it, unfortunately.
>>
>>43997969
It's a shame. Could be because of the massive pastebins and number of named people making these things which makes people feel like they're not welcome to make their own entries on this. That or people are lazy shit as usual. Anyways writing my next chapter and then monitoring the thread for shits and giggles.
>>
>>43997997
I second the lazy shit hypotesis. What is baffling is that named people abandoned ship already.

The Encyclopedia of Things That Will Kill You Eventually

Chapter VI: Point This End Towards The Enemies

If humans were good at only one thing, it would be creating pointy things designed to make other people's lives that much shorter. Not only can people utilize common household object, they also smith specialized household objects to bleed out their disliked neighbours. Swords, battleaxes, warhammers, spears and others are the usual bunch, but some people want to take it a notch higher. Here i will list some unique contraptions made by insane people.

Scythe Lance: Iconic weapons of the Lancers hunter union, these polearms are designed specifically to tear the flesh of monsters. Scythe lances work as two-use weapons for medium and short ranged combat. When the blade is extended, the weapon works as a common spear with the addition of massive scythe blades on the side to hook into the flesh of the targets. When the blade is retracted, the scythe blades form sort of a four pronged battleaxe that makes nasty, gashing wounds. Scythe lances require extended training to be used properly and their usage in common battle fields against normal soldiers is limited.

Venom Whip: This disgusting organic weapon is used by the cultists of Nimhe. Made using disgusting magic, the whip itself is made from the tongues of Bog Toads that are shrunk using forbidden magic, except for the tongue itself. Then the bog toad is trapped inside the hilt with the tongue still outside and then sustained with even more magic. Now the Nimhe cultist has a venomous whip in their usage which in addition to it's normal whipiness it smells, looks grotesque, smells horrible, tortures innocent animals and causes people to die as long as the whip draws blood due the natural venom from the bog toad.

Something something trident something.
>>
>>43998139
The scythe spear seems like a chinese polearm, by the way, something like the poleaxe-dagger.
>>
>>43998139
Sanctuary (bladed buckler): Sanctuaries are small unassuming bucklers. They are generally worn by caravan guards and travelling merchants as they are light, easy to use and provide just enough protection to block an attack then run away. But what is so unique about this buckler you ask? Well it has a hidden blade in it of course. And not just any sort of blade, this thing is jagged, long and curved. It's main function is a surprise slice into the neck of the attacker before he realizes the victim is wearing a sanctuary. These things are dime a dozen, but nevertheless they are effective, though usage in direct combat is limited.

Storm Trident: Another double function weapon, Ura's worshipers used the design of the scythe lance to make this weapon. Wielded by the cultists, at first glance these just seem like oddly shaped clubs with a handle guard and handle that have spikes on the end. But the hidden part is that the club part can be split and extended and the handle guard bend towards the wielder and now the cultist is armed with a proper trident. Unlike it's monster hunting counterpart, the storm trident is designed for fighting against humans both on foot and on mounts.

>>43998172
Actually i had trick weapons from Bloodborne in mind for that, sanctuary and storm trident.
>>
>>43998222
I hope you didn't spoiler yourself the dlc because the weapons in it are just crazy.
Shame everything is worse than Ludwig's Slashy Stick of Perfect Quality.
>>
>>43998222
Burning Axe: The weapon of high ranking dwarf officers. A normal axe from the outside but up close one can feel the heat emitting from this deadly weapon. The blade is actually hollow and filled with a substance that stays hot for hours at a time when heated. The blade the glows with this and sometimes is know to catch fire when coated in oil. The metal used in the axe does not weaken even under the constant high temperature and it now has the burning factor to it. Useful against animals, monsters and humanoids alike, the burning allows it to deal a little extra pain on flesh contact as well as cause severe burns with in contact with the enemy's metal armor for extended periods. It also boasts it's intimidation factor on the field.

Anchor Bow: Sailors love these things and so do besiegers. Designed to be used by three people, two to anchor the bow and one to draw, the bow is about 2,3 meters tall and the arrows it use are almost as large and heavy. Generally utilized to hook chains and ropes into ship sides and walls for easy entrance. "But wouldn't it be easier to just use ballistae?". No. This things can be carried by two people and arrows by one and after the bow is set-up it only requires a single person to use while the other two can go charge into combat on their own. Also these things are cooler and ballistae are harder to aim and cannot serve as a proper anchor once people add a few weights to it.

>cont.
>>
>>43998341
Fire Spitters: Siege weapons that launch balls of fiery death from a distance are somewhat common during battles. Then somebody though to make a smaller version of these things. They are small hand cannons carried by shock troopers of the armies that they fire right before dropping them and charging in to melee combat. Fire spitters launch up to seven small containers of flammable liquid that shatter and are lit on impact. Less about killing the target as it is to break the formation and drop morale, some hunters use these to combat monsters as they naturally fear fire and fur is an excellent tinder (though the smell can be overpowering).

Weaponized Instruments: Laughing Mercenaries love these and so do bards doubling as spies. The instruments can range from bagpipes, flutes and trumpets that can fire darts to lutes that can be turned into crossbows. Designed by the Guild of Crafts as a challenge, the weaponized instruments are everywhere in the world. but are also HIGHLY illegal almost everywhere as hidden weapons were banned by the nobles after a series of assassinations, though this doesn't stop anybody from making one. Laughing Mercenaries generally wield axe-flutes, crossbow-lutes and violin-whips and through them these are most common variations of these instruments of death, but only imagination is the limit for these.

And i am done for the while, hope this thread picks up soon again. Otherwise one might as well save the bins and try again in a few days.

The tale of the Church of Ynyr

The Church of Ynyr was a powerful and respected organisation, based in and practically controlling the city-state of Korz. It was here, at the edge of Viluvia that countless pilgrims travelled, seeking to speak with the demigod descendants of Ynyr, to hear one of the Patriarch’s holy sermons and to wander the streets of the city Ynyr himself protected. Of course this all went tits up after Ynyr died during the rebellion of the gods.

It wasn’t immediately obvious what had happened, for a time people kept praying and attending sermons, but something felt wrong. Their prayers felt unheard, the Patriarch’s sermons failed to conjure even a word from Ynyr and those closest to him – his most devote priests and his children – felt an immense sense of loss. It took just over a month for the penny to drop and it was aided by the Patriarch jokingly suggesting Ynyrs death as a cause of these circumstances. Suffice to say all hell broke loose.

Countless citizens fled the city, fearing that the other Gods would smite them for remaining in the city of their foe, countless priests threw themselves from the top of the central citadel, the patriarch actually committed suicide at the end of his last sermon causing fully half of the council of hierarchs who’d elected him to follow suite. In this insanity two men rose. Two men intent on ruling the church, one way or another. These men were Mezzarine Terach and Ryn Mal.

Mezzarine was a fosterling who’d been taken in by the church when he was very young after he’d showed up at the door of a chapel looking just pitiable enough to let in. He rose to prominence among his fellows for his part in locating many of Ynyr’s children and artefacts made by said god. He did this carefully and managed to become a high priest with the patriarch’s ear along with a solid chance of becoming the next patriarch, without a single soul discovering his darkest secret. That he was a necromancer.
>>
>>43999204
He’d learnt the art from his father who’d taught the young boy all he could before promptly dying from a terrible case of priests. Mezzarine escaped his father’s fate and joined the Church with a single intent – to rule it as its patriarch. Of course a Church without a god is as weak as water and so Mezzarine sought out and spoke to certain high ranking members of the clergy. To these men he offered two things – the return of their beloved leader the patriarch along with the hierarchs and the resurrection of Ynyr. Some would’ve declared such thoughts heresy and tried to kill him but Mezzarine had chosen these men well, they completely devoted to Ynyr and would’ve stood alongside him against all other gods if they had the chance. They declared their alliance to him and promised to aid him in whatever manner he required.

In the meantime Ryn was building up his own support. Ryn was one of the descendants of Ynyr, a demigod whose grandmother had gotten down and dirty with Ynyr. As such he had something of an impressive standing among the priesthood who often went to him and asked him to pray to Ynyr on their behalf, believing he would answer his own son more readily than a mortal. So he was already seen as a messenger to and from the gods when he suggested attempting to ascend to godhood to his fellow demigods. Of course he didn’t suggest that he should ascend, oh no, he just suggested that if one of them ascended to godhood and replaced Ynyr, the church could be saved. Of course most of the other demigods respected him to the point where they believed he was the only one fit for the position of god and the rest would probably get pummelled into the dirt if they said otherwise, but that certainly had no bearing on Ryn’s idea whatsoever.

And so while the city emptied the two plotted and planned, waiting for the day when only the most devout remained and they could announce their plans. This day happened to be one year after Ynyr’s death.
>>
>>43999359
The day arose and Mezzarine had his followers bring the preserved corpses of the dead hierarchs and patriarch to the great hall of the citadel, where the clergy were breaking their fast. He had the corpses placed upon the great tables and declared that he had seen the truth, that he knew that the only way to save themselves and their church was to return Ynyr to life along with those most blessed by him. He then proceeded to bring the slightly rotted corpses of the Church’s once rulers to life. Men left the room, but he paid them no mind, they would fall at his feet when their most beloved Patriarch was among them again. He certainly started paying them mind when Ryn led them back in, armed to the teeth and rather pissed off. He declared that Mezzarine was a heretic who would use his necromantic powers to control the church and its lord if they let him. Mezzarine called him a fool and began ranting about how things would be under the returned Ynyr. That lasted all of half a minute before one of Ryn’s men sent an arrow past Mezzarine’s ear (in all fairness he was aiming for the face).

The ensuing battle lasted for over an hour with many of the unaligned priests joining Ryn and Mezzarine’s priests turned necromancers fleeing to the Mausoleums beneath the city to raise an army of the undead. Ryn realised he probably couldn’t win against a massive army of zombies and so had those loyal to him flee the city as (according to him) “This city may be the centre of our faith but it is not our faith. We are what make our faith, not where it is held”.

Mezzarine was of course quite happy that the demigod and his followers buggered off, well at least he was until he began to look into the potential of bringing Ynyr back. Whilst it was not easy it was possible to bring Ynyr’s soul back, but he could no longer exist within the realms of the divine. He would have to inhabit a body in the mortal realm. One made of his own flesh and blood.
>>
>>43999382
So Mezzarine (now a lich) hunts Ryn and his brethren, intent on using his remains to house the spirit of Ynyr so he may solidify his slipping grip on his followers (Now called the church of the Return) who grow impatient at the lack of an undead Ynyr. In the meantime Ryn and his followers (calling themselves the Church of Ascendance) fight for glory, hoping that they gods will see fit to ascend one of their number to the halls of the gods. It has become a race between them, can Ryn stay ahead of Mezzarine’s followers long enough to ascend? Or will he have Ynyr’s soul stuffed in his body and feel really weird for the rest of eternity. Or will the race never end? Only time(and Taj Yr Akna) truly knows. In the meantime the neutral followers of Ynyr hope they don’t get stoned for being a necromancer/dickish glory hound.

Yo.

If thats a jab at Sur, im still around, just wanting to make it more open to contributions.

I'm thinking about expanding on Sason, The Sad God. I've got a few ideas but would like to get some input from others. So, ideas anyone?
>>
>>44002752
Could you give a little outline? I'll happly throw ideas your way once i know what direction you want to go.
>>
>>44002781
I've been thinking that after a while up in wherever the gods live, the Sason could return to the world of mortals to more directly engage with the downtrodden and sorrowful. Not exactly going Jesus of Nazereth, but rather more like a concerned uncle trying to help his nieces and nephews out of their respective binds.

Perhaps he could reach out to other deities for wisdom or aid on his quest to help his chosen ones, though because of how little power and clout he has this may not fit.
>>
>>44002841
Any god is still a god.

I think you should watch inside out and maybe read an analysis of that film, to transport some of the ideas over, it should give you a pretty solid base to work from for your concept.
>>
>>43998011
I've got other shit on my weekend; reading the AGP storytimes, playing the all Cogbro Party, starting to storytime the ACP's first story arc, playing a D&D game, then GMing a Star Wars game.

And finding some time in there to crank one or two out.
>>
Any chance that all those pastebins might be combined into a pdf or something? More convenient than going through all those separate links.
>>
>>44003575
There's an idea. Give me some time and i will give you one, though it will be bare bones.
>>
We keep discussing that Ong probably is connected to the Dreams of the Dragon God somehow, but we never talked about what that connection is.

What could it be?
>>
>>44005793
Host and a guest would be interesting. DG hosts it and Ong being the guest. Now i need to keep tearing my hair around the pastebin pdf.
>>
>>44005759

Cool. Not expecting anything fancy, but it'd help a whole lot.
>>
>>44006056
It's just a word document with a table of contents i turn into pdf because that's all i can do.
>>
>>44006078

Works for me.
>>
Pastebin stuff repasted into the word file now, next to make the table of contents and make it pdf.
>>
https://www.dropbox.com/s/mnlj9xa17wvedgx/Saladian%20Directory.pdf?dl=0

And here it is, all the pastes i could find in one, sort of neat pdf. file with a table of contents.
Might give each entry their own page later down the line, but this shall do for now.
>>
>>44006868
As a word of warning, this thing is about 130 pages long at this point.
>>
>>44002043
6>>44003388
If you feel the need to defend yourself. .. well make of that what you want but I was thinking of people at the beginning of this thing. Not that anyone can not have a good reason to drop out, but many people seemed pretty invested in this.
So no, I am not jabbing at anyone.
>>
>>44006868
Good job man.
Now we would just need to move some bits to other places and well, you know, grammar checks, especially my stuff, it must be full of errors, english is not my first language.
And finish the relationships chart, I guess I can do it in the morning.
>>
>>44008296
Righto. I will proofread the word version come morn and if i have the time, it's getting to be the two busiest weeks of the year coming up.
>>
>>44008335
Yeah, no need to haste. I mean we did a lot of stuff, looking back at it. Sure, we could go on to flesh it out more but maybe give it a day or two after this thread goes into the archives.
