At least it works as advertised, unlike that shitty online character generator. I had to make some adjustments to my character because the rules were kind of backwards. I don't know why the hell you would apply background bonuses prior to spending character points.

Do you mean supporting the devs or helping your players generate characters? Because the first isn't a good cause and there are free spreadsheets and programs and online character builders that do the second.

I noticed the The stars my destination scum swarm, and thinking about it the EC setting and the setting in the 1955 novel are really similar.

It's just that the novel's thing is that instead of robots everyone became able to teleport at will (but not through space) and the horror comes from magic nukes, not magic computers. By the end the protagonist has achieved a personal singularity, and as a byproduct, interstellar teleportation, which he will teach to anyone who finds him. He also gave control of the thought activated hydrogen-bomb-sand to the masses.
