t is the 41st Millennium. For more than a hundred centuries The Emperor has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the Master of Mankind by the will of the gods, and master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology. He is the Carrion Lord of the Imperium for whom a thousand souls are sacrificed every day, so that he may never truly die.
Yet even in his deathless state, the Emperor continues his eternal vigilance. Mighty battlefleets cross the daemon-infested miasma of the Warp, the only route between distant stars, their way lit by the Astronomican, the psychic manifestation of the Emperor's will. Vast armies give battle in his name on uncounted worlds. Greatest amongst his soldiers are the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Marines, bio-engineered super-warriors. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Imperial Guard and countless planetary defence forces, the ever vigilant Inquisition and the tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from aliens, heretics, mutants - and worse.
To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

I would think a movie or a TV series would be cool for my 1st edition style Rogue Trader army.
The main character's an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor who has seen his fair share of Tyranic War and Orks stuff. A planet is about to get overrun by Tryanids, and the higher ups call for an Exterminatus. But our Inquisitor doesn't follow through with it and instead helps out the mercenary Biel-Tan Eldar who were actually helping the humans on the planet fight back the Tyranids.
After the event the higher ups weren't too happy with the decision. But considering the contributions of our Ordo Xenos Inquisitor, they don't wanna execute him either. So they make him lose his Inquisitorial privileges and make him into a Rogue Trader! They give him a cheap Imperial army crew and a cheap ship to go around and explore. He gets to keep his Inquisitorial henchman, too: a Jokero Warsmith who's become attached to his leader, and two Servitors who stay with him to track/record everything. The Inquisitor also gets to keep his Heavy Conversion Beamer cuz the weapon doesn't listen to anyone else but him and the Warsmith. Also coming with them is a Vindicare Assassin who's there in the Rogue Trader's retinue to make sure they don't pull off anything too illegal.
Through the beginning adventures, the Inquisitor also gains in his retinue Pedro Kantor the Chapter Master of the Crimson Fists. Pedro is an old friend who he has worked with fighting the Orks in the past, and now Pedro wants to join the Rogue Trader crew with a small detachment of his army with the intention of getting more recruits and resources for his small Chapter.
The Rogue Trader crew also meets the same Biel-Tan mercenaries, and this time has them join the crew, too. The leader, a Warlock Skyrunner joins the retinue being bored of his usual Eldar life so lives the life of a mercenary who's also looking for Eldar remnants.

With the voice over starting with a shot of the emperor on the throne, slowly panning out showing the custodes and titans patrolling the throne room; then showing the psykers being sacrificed having their souls ripped from them.
As it continues to pan out it show the palace as golden and radiant, going orbital with massive fleets and such;
We then follow one of these ships as it breaches space and enters the warp; daemons and shit float around it being repelled by the geller field and the emperor in a majestic as fuck spirit form as the intro wording finishes the ship breaks warp over a planet; a massive cluster fuck going down orcs and nids are battling in orbit around a planet while the navy has created a picket around the planet and taking pot shots at both.
We then speed down to the planets surface over flying massive battle zones; IG holding fortresses against both mid and orc assaults and orc and nids beating the shit out of each other; we then eand up at a group of sob are holding out against assaults of hormaguants and shit inside a fuck huge cathedral shrine to the emperor in all his glory, as this continues and carnage litters the ground a carnafex and big nids appear; it seems all is lost... when the protagonist appears drop pods and thunderhawks fill the sky the blood ravena have arrived to "borrow" the relic blade in the cathedral, left right and centre carnage marines killing and being killed alongside sisters after a bit all is cleared and we now have some dialogue :

That should be voiced in the background as an intro plays. There would be a couple of guardsmen dragging an unwilling soldier to a platform in the middle of the guard camp.
Then have a commissar announce that the guardsmen has been guilty of cowardice and desertion.
Right as Patrick Stewart finishes the camera pans away to guardsmen who are watching, and we see the flash of the bolter in their eyes while hearing the shot echo.

As the the capt yells out and thw marines start moving through out the massive plaza putting down any still living nids; the canoness walks down the steps wide enough for 400 to hold hands and still not touch both sides.
As we watch this the point of view shifts; where we had been in the plaza we no look done at the plaza through a Eldar scope, in a mash up of Asian and Babylonian "they have arrive farseer just as you said" we see what looks like a empty ruined apartment building; when with a shimmer a team of 3 pathfinders appear their cloak fading as they place down a Web way portal. The camera moves in an contacts with the shimmering surface.
Seen change we now over watch as an warlord stands atop a mountain of dead boys and nids. Firing of dakka in crazy volumes as he cuts down any the manage to get near with a massive choppa crackling with energy.
As it looks like even he will be overrun, a new mob of boys crashes into the nids side with a scream of WAAAAAAGH!
As the orcs start munching on the dead orcs and looting, the bottom part of the view falls away and the camera pans down to watch the wall/window fall to the ground with a crash. the camera switches to the pov of the orks looking up at a human child in the hole in the wall.
With a yell of glee boys rush up the child flees to the roof but is caught and thrown of the roof to land in a red splatter at the warlords feet.
